Just checking in , what do you think of the lower crank pulley ? I was looking as a fas predator incognito one myself. I just dont know if its worth it in the long run or not, I think I saw some one on the forums also say these make the truck run more lean and could cause engine issues in the future, since youve had it for about 2 years now, I figured id check. TY for any help/ information you can provide.
Thanks! I am running the Rally Armor universal set like this link below. They have a few different color choices and I am using the 12"x15" set not the longer 12"x19" set. www.rallyarmor.com/product_info.php/urethane-mud-flaps-universal-black-mud-flap-white-logo-p-1166
Any new 0-60 or Qt times to show gains for the pulley and/or Cold Air intake... I notice another guy on You Tube that has his stock and was running 12.7s with one pass at 12.24... Would love the Pulley with S&B CAI i got to get in the 11.9s heck a tune would be great and Bully Dog makes a Tune but the ECM gets sent to them for this Tune.... Thanks for great content
WAS CURIOUS IF YOU HAD THE DROP RUNNING BORADS AND IF YOU HAD THE PART NUMBER FOR THEM? WAS WANTING THE FACTORY DROP STEPS JUST FOR DIRECT BOLT ON. Thank for your help.
How close is the sleeve to that bracket some people shave ?? I just did mine today all from underneath about hour time but it seems really REALLY close to the belt and sleeve ..
It is really close to the bracket. I took a small file and took just a tiny bit of material off of the bracket and have had no issues. Thanks for the view!
That is a really good question as it would be spinning them a little bit quicker than stock. So far I haven't had any issues at 11k miles. Thanks for the view!
Actually yes, I just ordered new belts and need to install them due to the squeal noise. Mine only lasted about 5k miles before it started. Thanks for the view!
That is a good question, I wouldn't think the exhaust would be an issue because the factory exhaust is also straight through but the intake would be the only question as it might add a little more air into the mix, the truck does have a air fuel ratio gauge so you can monitor to make sure your fueling is safe. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter Thank you for answering my question, my tuner asked me if im doing the upper pulley later on and I told him i soon will install an upper pulley in the future he said its best to make small adjustments in the fuel management for now until i install the upper pulley later on he also recommended a bigger throttle body but i couldn't find one.
@@xX3essoXx if you are planning on a upper pulley in the future, it is recommended to "pin" your crankshaft pulley to prevent any crankshaft pulley slipping.
That is kind of a grey area, if a engine failure can be determined to be caused by the aftermarket part then you would have issues, but the fact that the pulley required no tune and in theory could be removed if something bad happened, (that is at least how it is marketed.) But these have been installed on hellcats for a long time since 2015 with no real issues other than installation error. The hellcat engines have been happy (properly tuned) with stock internals to 1000hp so they are really strong. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter That’s about what you you would expect with a 60-70 HP increase. I would really like to see a before and after Dyno. I may have the performance shop that is going to install mine do one for me. I ordered one yesterday with the Black Friday special it was $690 shipped.
@@WildCPA Nice that sounds good I do wish I had gotten a dyno Before & After just out of interest, now the manufacturer of the pulley does state to let the truck get a good amount of drive cycles before do doing a after dyno test because the truck will need to learn new fuel tables and adjust accordingly for the slightly added boost so don't be surprised if they immediately do a dyno pull after install and it is reading lower than expected since it will require a few drive cycles for the PCM to relearn fueling.
I have actually seen a slight increase in MPG, now that makes no since so I'm not sure if it's just the truck "breaking in" or the pulley as mine only has around 2k miles in it currently. Thanks for the view!
It is kind of a grey area since you don't need to tune the truck with this pulley. Pending it is correctly installed you really should have any issues with it, and the little (50hp) power bump is noticeable. Thanks for the view!
That is a hard question, if you had a engine or transmission failure and this was installed still it would probably be used to decline the powertrain warranty.
Mine has been totally quite since day one. I have seen other guys talking about the belt squeak issue, I guess I haven't been in too much rain or water with mine but defiantly a lot of dirt and dust in the engine bay from playing off-road with no issues. I did option for the green belt vs. the standard black belt when I ordered. I had read that the green belt was more durable so I ordered it. No clue if the guys with issues are running the black belts or not?
I’m tempted to grab it. I saw you guys doing the intake. So I ended up grabbing the AFE tube with the dry filters. It should be here next week. I bought the last one haha. Super tempting to do the pulley though haha. Green belt all the way though. Oh and I grabbed the oil catch can
@@TylerPotter I bought it from some guys site on the Facebook group ram TRX . He had two in stock. I ordered it yesterday with the oil catch can. It’s shipping tomorrow. 😀. Not much wait time.
I'm sure it depends on elevation but mine does show about 1 -1.5psi higher at max boost and is consistantly quicker than a stock TRX on a drag strip. Thanks for the view!
Not sure on the 0-60 but I was running consistent 12.7's in the 1/4mile at the drag strip stock and now with the lower I am running 12.2-12.3's at the same drag strip. Thanks for the view!
Oh don't worry this truck has been to the sand dunes twice. One of those times stuck at the top of a 70ft dune in a sand storm. It's also been jumped 30-40 times now at this point. So it is defiantly a well rounded TRX! Thanks for the view
No real issues, this winter I did have a lot of belt squeal but I did buy a new set of belts but haven't got them installed yet and now that it warmed up the squeal stopped for the time being. Thanks for the view!
Only $740 shipped with the discount code. Comes with the pulley, new OEM crank bolt, new supercharger belt, new accessory belt, crankshaft lock tool (used to torque the crank bolt). Still a lot of money but there aren't to many options for us that don't want to have to tune. Upper pulleys require the snout of the supercharger to be torn apart. This lower install is pretty quick and painless. Thanks for the view!
Very nice mod! Looking forward to seeing a future update.
You and me both!
Good idea. Is the crank pulley as easy to get to as you made it look on video? I can't wait for the update after a few weeks.
I was really straight forward even for my 1st time doing one.

I have the same exact truck. Nice video. What mud flaps are you running?

Will be interesting to see if you can lower your drag times enough to warrant the swap.
That's the hope!! Thanks for the view!
Expect a 0.2 and about 1-2mph increase.
I did a dragy test same exact conditions before and after. That was the result.. I ran a 12.36@108.5

Just to confirm, adding this pulley does not void factory warranty correct?

is this worth voiding your warranty? considering doing it

Does the pulley need a tune?
No with just the pulley the factory tune can add fuel and keep the air fuel ratio in the safe zone still. Thanks for the view!
Does this void the truck warranty
That is a hard question, if you had a engine or transmission failure and this was installed still it would probably be used to decline the powertrain warranty.

Here's how you... "RELEARN" faster... Disconnect both battery terms and touch em together to drain or reset all models. Put back after 5 minutes.
No tune needed?
No tune needed for the lower crank pulley it adds just a small amount of boost that the factory tune can add fuel for. Thanks for the view!
