Detailing your off road truck can be a challenge even when though you may really love your truck. Specially when dealing with black paint which is extremely hard to work with, detailing a big truck comes with a lot of challenges. The methods we show you here are some of the ways we use to detail off road trucks that have black paint without scratching it or leaving streak marks to make the truck stand out and shine! In this video we go over step by step how to detail a Ram TRX from a professional detailers point of view at an on-site job. We decided to show you how we tackle a truck like this on-site for an actual client, in order to make it look like new again! You may not have or need all the tools and products we showcase, but we hope you learn something through this video and we hope it adds value to you. If you are in the San Diego County area and would like your truck or vehicle detailed by us please contact us at OQDETAILING.COM and we would love to take care of your vehicle needs.

Most underrated channel on RUclips!
We agree with you on that 🤝🫡💯
Hardest working man in the biz 🔥🔥🔥
🙇🏻♂️ no, just doing what we can 🙏🏻
Just one suggestion/idea from my own experiences - you might find if you experiment with foaming a DRY vehicle that you have not pre-rinsed, it will do a much better job of breaking down surface contaminants that are concerns for scratching/swirling before your contact wash.
My process for this is: do wheels & tires first > spray foam on the dry vehicle (I foam the wheels at this point to keep them from drying too) > let the foam dwell as much as possible before it starts drying out > THEN do the pre-rinse (DI water for me in Florida) > then I'll do a light layer of foam to aid in contact wash lubrication & for that visual indicator of where I have already contact-washed on the vehicle.
I feel this is a much lower risk of causing swirl-marks than when I would have when I used to rinse first, then foam. When I did that, I couldn't see concerning contaminants that were on the paint below the foam & that would lead me to pick up things that could can swirl the paint in my wash mitt & not realize it (like picking up some gritty mud or a bug etc).
Hope that is helpful my friend! Thanks for the video and talking about your process.
What if the paint is very hot in summer? Same process? No rinse first to cool it down a bit?
Great video especially since it’s truck focused…..subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
I have a tundra video too it was when I first started. Check it out !

Love the red trim and carbon fiber in that TRX!
Yea I know it’s really nice & the leather is high grade leather too!
@@OQDetailing I will be buying one in about two years. Waiting for the used prices to come down. I haven't put my hands on one yet, but everyone seems to love them. What do you think?
@@casmithc2 yea dealers were even putting crazy markups on them so waiting is a good idea. Well, they are definitely awesome trucks! The only thing is obviously they are gas guzzlers
@@OQDetailing Agreed. No more Hemis after 2024. I think that Hellcat power will be very collectable some day.
@@casmithc2 yea exactly, I have a feeling they will make hybrids in conjunction with full electric but we’ll see
Great job man👍🏻
Thank you for watching!🤝
Damn dude, great job...wish you were in Florida

Hey thank you for watching, and I’m glad 😃 it can help you out. Congratulations 🎉 on the new truck!
good shit
Thank you for watching
Thanks for info. Very informative. Very surprised a $100K+ truck does not come with wheel well liners.
Thank you very much for watching & taking the time to comment!
I think they have some form of liner but it’s not carpeted, it’s a form of a plastic liner idk if that counts?
However you bring up a good point and yes, unfortunately now everything is about profit. Therefore manufactures make everything an option you have to add and buy; even about the most basic of things.
I would hate to have carpeted wheel-liners in an offroad vehicle they are alot harder to clean and dress than plastic ones IMO. Save those carpeted wheel wells for luxury vehicles imo.
Great video! Couple questions: 1. What's the name of the soap you use in the foam cannon for the entire car? 2. Do you treat a car that has ceramic coating already on it any differently? thanks again!
Thank you very much for watching!
1. The soap I used is called Reset by Carpro and I have a link for it on the video description. Olease use that link as it helps out our small channel to produce more content
2. In a general sense not really, and that good thing is that the soap I used and recommended to you above is made for coated cars specifically but it works awesome with non coated cars also. Perhaps the only thing is on some coated cars you can easily blow dry the car without having to use a towel that much so there’s less friction.
What tire dressing did you use?
In your description it says Carpro Perl Tire Dressing but it links to a Bead Maker.
Sorry for the mistake, I fixed it.
In this video I used “full send” tire dressing which is now linked to the description. It’s a gallon size but it would last you a very long time; it’s cheaper than buying a smaller bottle of it. However I also use carpro Perl regularly for tire dressing and dilute it 1-1 or 2-1, which I also linked.
💪💪💪
Thank you for watching sir!
Hey respect from Senegal I like to work for you
Much appreciated! Thank you for watching & commenting 🤝
@@OQDetailing give me your number
What is the name of the tool you used with the air compressor to apply the dressing to wheel well and tire? Do you have a link of where to purchase?
I was able to find the tool and post a link to it for Amazon. It’s listed in the video description under “Pneumatic Paint Gun Sprayer” please use that link as it helps out our channel to produce more content, thank you!!
What gun did you use to spray the dressing on? LG
It’s one I got from Harbor Freight, about 15 bucks, you will also need the fitting to attach it to your air compressor, you can ask the employees to help you find the right one
Can I ask another question? If you just washed your truck the day before but get caught out in the rain, what’s your solution for spraying it down and wiping it off? Would you use that paint gloss showroom? Thanks
Yes exactly, the paint gloss is designed for that. Furthermore, If you use a spray wax or sealant like I did in the video, it will create a slick surface so when you use the paint gloss in a situation like you just mentioned it will be easy to glide and wipe the towel and not create a lot of friction
@@OQDetailing thank you! Love your videos! Move to North Carolina ha!
@@clemsondds thank you very much for the support,
It means a lot to us 🙏🏻
So how often do you recommend cleaning your vehicle?
There’s a lot of variables to consider but I would say every two weeks or once a month
@@OQDetailing
Cool, I wash mine once a week and like you said in your video I rinse it off thoroughly before I start washing to get all the loose dirt off so I don't put any scratches on the clear coat.
@@markurbancowboy oh even better!
Yea that’s the way to go, good job, thank you for watching. If it’s the car on your picture then congratulations it’s a really cool 😎 color
Is there a link to everything you use? Do you recommend using a power washer?
Yes! I added all the product links I used in this video on the description box of the video.
I do recommend a power washer but it’s not necessary. You can get a cheap one at Lowe’s from green works, less than 100$ it’s a little scare box
@@OQDetailingon the contact wash how did spray the soap? Do you need to buy spray bottles to put cleaners in to spray as well?
@@chasehoover_14 yes, I didn’t realize I didn’t have a link for that, I’ll have to update it tonight if you want to check back tomorrow to see the one I recommended
@@OQDetailing that’s works. Thank you!
okay, I updated it. Its the first one on the list, its not the exact one I use on the video because they discontinued it but thats the one I recommend.
@@chasehoover_14
What brand orange degreaser is this ? It’s amazing. Brand plz anybody
It is 3D Orange 🍊 degreaser, great stuff. You can find on Amazon, the gallon size is the best bang for your buck 💵
@@OQDetailing thank you . I just started detailing myself , I was using G.S but for the price I don’t see it doin what this did to that tire . I appreciate you for the quick reply, keep doin what you doin . Got a new subscriber from me
@@coryfaulkner1279 congratulations on starting to detail!
I’m not sure what G.S is?
But yea 3D is great and can be used in many areas by following the dilution ratios on the bottle.
Thanks for subscribing, greatly appreciate it 🤝
@@OQDetailing green star by Koch chemie..
@@coryfaulkner1279 oh yea I have that too it’s good, but I don’t find it as useful as 3D orange degreaser
Imagine thinking your truck requires different cleaning techniques than any other vehicle.
Yet here you are…
Well done. ..
