Well, Don, contrary to you, I don’t mind the front aero treatment at all, what I profoundly dislike are the round tail pipes enclosed in chunky square… whatever they are. What were they thinking ? To answer your question, you can have the back seats reinstalled at no cost, as an option. As for the legendary key, well let’s be honest, if I remember right the real key disappeared with the 997 generation and since then its all been gimmicky stuff. So the start/stop button, despite it not looking classy, is no real loss in my opinion.
The 992.2 hybrid system is effectively a pure power boost solution while complying with emission control regulations. You cannot drive this new 911 in EV mode. And yes I’m all with you with the PDK only option. The manual gearbox will be missed by many. Lets hope the 992.2 GT3 will still have an NA engine compatible with the fabulous 6 speed manual. The 911 is (inevitably) changing, but so is life. Unless we stick to what is still available, we’ll just have to feel content with the new 992.2 😄😎

I prefer the new gts styling wise tbh. I just dont like the all digital dash and the start up button but the rest is executed pretty well imo

Porsche heading wrong direction. 992.1 simpler and a lot better. Glad I bought a 2023 992.1 c2s with sports design in gt silver with black/mojave interior. Just beautiful with more than enough power and torque

Agree with most of your observations. The push start button is very poorly executed, but then i never liked the clumpy key from the 992.1 The worst thing imo is the digital dash. Really not a fan of that at all. Maybe its my age, but i much prefer the analogue cars.
With the digital dash it makes you question why not just get a Taycan instead

They've probably gone digital as the analogue gagues will struggle to keep up with the acceleration now. Still don't like them though.
I like the new aero but I don't think its really any different from the years before. Not worth the value especially if you already own one.
Agreed don’t sell until they’ve worked out the kinks in the hybrid system
Well, Sir, like they say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure if it performs the way they say it will perform and I allocation. I will trade my 992 in tomorrow. and there’s a reason F1 cars are so quick. They keep the turbo spooled up in Willow Springs racetrack which I do track days the fastest way around the track is a PDK 😀

@@BitterCarGuy I don’t really worry about reliability. I always maintain a proper maintenance schedule and keep my warranty up-to-date.

I’m thinking the same or the AMG GT 63. Porsche seems to hate its loyal customers that want ICE cars. I asked my dealer - who sold me the last 3 new Porsches about ordering a 911 turbo s.. He said I’d have to pay a $30,000 fee on top of msrp. So, it’s a privilege to buy a new car from Porsche I guess. eff Porsche and eff Porsche dealers.
Hey Don! I agree with your analysis of the 992.2. Some terrible decisions by the VW group. After the 997 years, the 911 has just been getting uglier every year. BTW !! Agreed - looks stupid. And what a slap in the face to put electric motors in it & eliminating the front trunk space at that. Smh
Also, if anyone for some hell awful reason wants to choose the new 2024 model -- I really think they look better in a dark color such as jet green or forest metallic for instance with the way that grille is...
I think ppl should hold off before getting a 2024 unless you’re getting the Carrera

I totally agree with you I am disapointed with Porsche and precisely on the new 911. Let us see how is GT3 and the touring going to be and if they are going hybride that's it. No more Porsche. I am driving GTS 992.1 and I am waiting for GT3 touring

this is porsche`s first step to going full electric with the whole 911 range, too: mark my words.
I can see them having an NA model and an EV 911 side by side.
This is all about Porsche being woke. They could have achieved all the performance improvements with traditional ice technology. The new gts is way more complex and complicated than it needs to be and this will drive up cost to purchase and to maintain. I will not buy a EV technology Porsche.
