Best dunker ever To jump up to dunk and have contact with another player and double pump it then dunk.... Again jump up have contact with another player double pump it and dunk it with 2 hands .... dude was a freak of nature
Yep I know I am a Boomer for saying but I miss 80’s and 90’s B-ball. My favs were the shorties Spud Webb and Mugsy Bogues. Me being in the White Men can’t jump category they were my heroes because they didn’t need elevation to ball in the NBA. Though as pointed out I watched Spud take the Slam Dunk contest and it was awesome. Not saying there are no awesome players but that was a special time honestly. MJ, Magic, Pippen, Bird, Thomas, Wilkins, Thomas, Kareem any night of the week a Legend was on the court.
Great video !!! Dominique was one of my favorites as a kid and growing up around Atlanta I got to see a lot of his dunks in person man he was awesome !!! Thanks for posting and reacting great channel bro !!!!
Me too !! Even tho I live just outside of Boston and love all my hometown teams and most of the players we had Dominique was my 2nd favorite player. Chris Mullin is my favorite player of all time and MJ is #3.
Nique was the most underrated player ever imo. He should have made the top 50 greatest players list that came out awhile back. How he didn't, I have no idea. 🏀💯
My favorite player of all time. I love the Windmill and the double pump with Authority. It was exciting evertime. Him and Spud Webb are the only posters I had growing up. Gotta love it.
What was so crazy about Nique is that he was a 2 footed jumping high flyer. Its a little more difficult to jump and glide off of 2 feet and he mastered it
You don’t see follow up dunks and fast break dunks like this anymore. Old school players were more aggressive and had imagination. I prefer watching 80’s and 90’s basketball than today’s.
New era dunkers have the edge because your imagination gets better when you can build from the foundation older dunkers. VC dunks were flashy for the early 2000’s as was Nique for the 80’s I’m almost positive Nique could do every dunk that VC could he had the imagination
Dominique was one of the most underrated players in history and should have been a top 50 player. What's interesting is Lavine and Gordon are all time great dunk contest dunkers but you don't really see many dunks from them in the actual games but with 'Nique, MJ & Carter, you saw it in the contest and games.
Especially Carter & Nique. Jordan caught bodies too but I don't remember many of his posters having much additional flavor to them. Nique & Vince would put you on a poster while getting fancy
@@SportsSpeak73 I gotcha but I wasn't just referring to dunking on people but just doing some dunk contest-type dunks in the actual games. We saw MJ dunking close to the FT line, doing the kiss-the-rim leaner, etc. We saw Nique and Carter doing their windmills and what not.
Its been so long I forgot just how explosive he was. Also a completely different approach to dunking with those 2 foot monster jumps. Just Amazing to watch!
People don't realize that Nique avg 25 to 30ppg with 6.5 to 9 rpg from 1985 to 1994. That's almost 10 years of high performance . The Utah Jazz drafted him in 1982 as the 3rd pick overall and they trade him to Atlanta for 1 million $$ 🤦♂️🤦♂️ because the team needed cash. So imagine the Jazz with Malone, Stockton and Wilkins? That was one of the dumbest moves by any executive in NBA history.
Hit up both dunk contests with mike and nique. One last big banger bro....shawn kemp. Kemps 50 greatest dunks....he will leave you hyped. Makes sure its 50 dunks and not plays
One of the greatest players people never mentioned because he blow both his knees out but would drop 50 on you every night was Bernard king, look him up bruh
Most NBA fans just thought of Nique as a dunker for the slam dunk contest however, he's the greatest in game dunker ever! He dunked on everybody in game, and his put back dunks were phenomenal! He had a total game not just dunks.
7:55 For historical purposes, Dominique Wilkins preceded Vince Carter by about 10 years. Wilkins was known as "the human highlight reel." He was considered by most as the best dunker. Then Shawn Kemp came to the league and provided the same thrills. Kemp was 6'10 and acrobatic and it was debatable who was the best between those two. Now Vince Carter is like the evolution of Wilkins. He is the best in game dunker of all time. Kinda like Kyrie being the dude with the best handle of all time. In the Olympics Vince Carter literally leaped over a 7'1 French center named Fredric Weiss that got drafted by the Knicks. Carter had his crotch in Weiss's face. That dunk ended Weiss NBA career before it even started. Weiss never played a minute of NBA ball. Vince Carter was nicknamed after a Nas rap phrase from the song IT AINT HARD TO TELL. The nickname: "half man, half amazing".
You should do "Pistol" Pete Maravich. He may be the first person I've seen do the behind the back ball fake pass for a layup, but I may be wrong. That was in the 70's I believe. Great ball handler.
Vince had power but Dominique was ABSOLUTELY violent. Both were hyper explosive. Dominique was putback dunking his own rebounds in some of these hilights. Not sure U copped.
55 was Spud Webb. Shortest man to ever win a dunk contest. And he won over Dominique. You should watch that video, it's awesome. Spud was 5'7", and WON the dunk contest.
Nique was frightening. Dr. J obviously revolutionized the dunk, but to this day I'm not sure if I've ever seen another midsized player with his combination of hops and raw power. There was nobody like him at the time. His double-clutch poster slams are just legendary.
Pistol Pete was the first person I saw do the behind the back fake pass. With the Hawks, so early career. Recommend checking him out, along with Jason 'White Chocolate' Williams Showtime video.
If there is a video for his highlights, you should try watching "Darryl Dawkins". I may be wrong, but I think that he was one of the first players to shatter a backboard? He was called 'Chocolate Thunder'.
Arguably the best if not the best two-footed leaper ever. His explosiveness off both feet were insane; if he was gifted with mitts like his homeboy (23) the goals would be at least 11 feet now 🤷🏿♂️.
At 11:15 he dunked on NBA vet Bob Lanier, he didn't speak to Dominique for years after. Lanier said his kids asked him why did he let the young skinny dude dunk on him like that.
Fam it's funny cause the way you're reacting to him ..is the way we all reacted back in the 80's when he actually did these Dunks!...The Human Highlight Film
I think Pistol might have been the 1st to do the behind the back fake pass. It's really shame we don't have more footage of him when his was dominate in the league. I also forgot about Dominique missed windmill in the all star game. That was funny!
My former supervisor at work had a try out with Detroit Pistons Years ago. One day we were talking basketball and he told me that Dominique Wilkins would jump so high, that they had to teach Dominique Wilkins how to shoot a jump shot on the way down instead of on the way up.
1) Dave Corzine was exactly that, when he got smashed.....CORAZONE! 2) I was at the Knick game (the second Knick clip). Knicks blew them out, but seeing him dunk, in person, I got my money's worth!
The thing about Dominique Wilkins is tha that he did all his jumping down dunks off of 2 feet which is waaaayyyyyy harder then jumping off of 1 foot Salute to this true athlete
Regarding the fake behind the pass, the first player to do it is Pete “Pistol Pete” Maravich. Before Dominique, Magic and Rondo, there was Pistol Pete.
Nique, Vince Carter, MJ and Julius Erving are the best in game dunker the NBA has ever seen. I will give a slight edge to Vince. Nique was the king of the power dunk in a game in his era. Also a great scorer able to win the scoring title a couple of times in the Jordan Era. There is a statue of him in the city of Atlanta for a reason...clearly the best and more impactful player the Hawks have ever seen...
The quality of players of that era was as it good as it can get. Everyone says that these guys couldn't compete against current players are either haters or delusional
Jordan was every1's fav b.I.T.D bUT "The Human Highlight Film" was always #1 to me!!!...Salute to Dominique!!!...For some reason-he didnt make the NbA's TOP 50 Players Of All Time List nor did he get seleCted to play for an OlympiC team...CRAZY!!!...IMO... TOP 3 Dunker Of All Time..(1-Carter 2-Jordan)
Pistol Pete was the first to fake behind the back and then score. #33 for Houston who you told to go drive a bus was Robert Reid. He was a pastor. Once I sat courtside and heard Larry Bird, who was torching Reid for 30 points at the half, told Reid "you better go back to preaching". Both sides laughed their ass off.
@@NehemiahRyan Agreed on both counts. I too saw a video of Cousy doing it. But Pistol, made it a weapon. Ask Magic, Isaiah, Jordan, and they all Say Pistol was the man!
The master of TIPS If it hit the rim He was coming down with 2 points. No dribble needed. Above the rim. Spud Webb was 5'6 ... But he won the Slam Dunk Contest.
Dominique Wilkons, Shawn Kemp and Vince Carter are probably the best 3 in game dunkers of all time.
Agree with this
Forgot about Jordan game dunkers were crazy
1- Kemp 2- Wilkins 3-Carter
Doc
Eric Gordon and j Rich too
Dominique WIlkins. He wasn't called the "Human Highlight Reel" for nothing.
21 feared no man edit: and no rim.
Best dunker ever
To jump up to dunk and have contact with another player and double pump it then dunk....
Again jump up have contact with another player double pump it and dunk it with 2 hands .... dude was a freak of nature
Spudd Webb is tiny but he won a Dunk Contest. You should watch that one.
and beat Dominique to do it

Spudd and Nique had the same vertical leap, 42" !
Dominique Wilkins is an OG from above the rim with authority!!! Loved watching him play...

Dominique could ball. He was a bucket. Not much defense, but he would drop buckets on your head. No problem
Dominique is one of the most underrated players of all time
Nique was the most underrated player ever imo. He should have made the top 50 greatest players list that came out awhile back. How he didn't, I have no idea. 🏀💯
That still blows my mind to this day. I seriously stopped watching NBA basketball for a while after seeing that bs list.
He gets no respect at all.
@@clgaines2006 A damn shame.
Facts. Scottie was a great player & the consummate swiss army knife on the court, but no way should he have made that list over Nique
My favorite player of all time. I love the Windmill and the double pump with Authority. It was exciting evertime. Him and Spud Webb are the only posters I had growing up. Gotta love it.
9:28 Spud Web (5'7") didn't miss that shot. He deliberately laid it up off the rim for 'Nique to go up and get it!
This dude’s dunks were ferocious !
The dunk at 1:26 was over 7-4 Ralph Sampson.
What was so crazy about Nique is that he was a 2 footed jumping high flyer. Its a little more difficult to jump and glide off of 2 feet and he mastered it
2 footed jump 2 hamded dunker
Real talk. Nothing but power
and when he brought the ball down for a two handed dribble, sane men got out of the way. How bad do you want to be on sportcenter?
That's how the men did it back in the day, take the contact & then dunk. Dominique was a beast. Top 5 all time dunker.
Clyde Drexler dunks next. He almost went from the FT line in game. Scottie Pippen has, and also Eddie Jones, in game FT line yams.
You don’t see follow up dunks and fast break dunks like this anymore. Old school players were more aggressive and had imagination. I prefer watching 80’s and 90’s basketball than today’s.

Dominique, mj and the reign man (kemp) are the best in your face in game dunker .
This era of players was sooooo good! And MJ was the best of the best.

First I thing I thought of when he started this vid!
This is why I subscribed keep up the goodwork
Dominique should be in top 5 small forwards
Lebron, bird, hondo, Baylor, Rick Barry, Dr j,..not quite

Gotta get one of them Allen Iverson highlights
Look up Domique vs Bird. Such an epic game. They went back and forth the whole game

Stromile Swift was another good dunker

IMO Vince was the best technical dunker of all time, but Wilks has always been my favorite simply due to his power on these in-game dunks.
That dunk on Robert Parish is probably the most aggressive dunk I’ve ever seen.
