The funniest part of this episode is the “Hitler” scene. The great thing about Father Ted is that it is a quite surreal universe, but it manages to mock very real issues and could get away with it in deeply Catholic Ireland because of the surreal absurdities of the Craggy Island universe. In this episode it tackles some of the right wing attitudes that have been an unspoken and hidden part of some parts of the Catholic Church. But they never throw the social issues in your face, you can simply enjoy it for the quirky humor. But there are depths within the show for those who want to look deeper. Like Fawlty Towers, Father Ted is regarded as one of the greatest of comedy shows. BTW, if you want to watch episodes, a little background. Craggy Island is a sort of “end of the Earth” type place where the church sends priests they want to hide or punish. One is there because of alcoholism and depravity, one is there because he was caught trying to steal money (why he sometimes says “the money was just resting in my account”) and the other one is there because he is a halfwit. Their housekeeper, Mrs Doyle is insane. And the islanders are only half insane. Stories usually involve the constant scheming by Ted while he pretends he would never do anything like that, and of course, he can never succeed. The day after the last scene of the last episode of season 3 was filmed Dermot Morgan, who played Ted, died of a heart attack.
@@jimwoodgina9604 Yup and I remember the outrage it brought too. The nuns in my secondary school would say to us not to watch. Sure my whole family watched it lol 😂

Near faarr aawaayyyyy . . .
Ah forget it🤣
I like to post a gif of that as a reaction when somebody online is being very thick.
Still not following you Ted. 🤣
The end of the episode is funnier when Father Ted is cleaning the window and there is a black spot.
From outside it looks like he has a Hitler moustache and is doing a nazi salute.
That's not the end of the episode though, the end is when Mrs Doyle decorates the room with inherited stuff from the priest he visited ;)
His laugh is contagious
"It isn't the Greeks, it's the Chinese he's after" lol
"I don't care as long as I can have a go at the Greeks! They invented gayness!!"🤣😂

Father Ted is just one of the greatest sitcoms ever made. Every episode is gold standard. If you ended up watching it and enjoying it then I HIGHLY recommend checking out Black Books and The I.T Crowd, which were also written by the same man, Graham Linehan.
Was about to say that too
Black books is my all time favourite comedy with IT Crowd a close second
DarkEco lineham was the slapstick humour and Matthews Was the clever writing
It crowd was ok ish hugely over rand stupid at times especially when new boss came in
Black books was great just for cast
Didn’t realise they all had the same writer but I love them all
My mind did go from ‘I’m not a racist’ to ‘I’M NOT A WINDOW CLEANER’
I had no idea Black Books and the IT crowd were written by the same guy. Awesome shows! Nearly bust a gut laughing at them every single time.
@@-M0LE agree there - Toast of London has a similar feeling to Father Ted and Black Books though, if you need more afterwards
You’re super perceptive. I like how you observe life. New subscriber! 🌟
Father Ted is an institution here in Ireland,
You speak the truth
Most of us ain't got time for that shit, most of us just want to raise our families and let others do the same.
Your videos matter
One love , one heart
I never watch reaction videos but this is the best! I’m Irish and I love seeing other nationalities laugh at our humour! Your laugh is so infectious it made me laugh even though I’ve seen the whole show countless times! I would definitely watch you react to the full episodes! You don’t know what you’re missing! Have a nice day friend!
"Down this this sort of thing'....carefull now...
"As long as I can still have a go at the Greeks, they invented gayness" 😂😂
Watching your reaction from Ireland. Well done
Honestly, any episode of Father Ted is comedy gold.
The episode Speed 3 is my fave.
Great T shirt, btw.
I will second that, Pat Mustard was genius.
“Do you think the babies are copying his style?!”
Mine too cracking episode
"Pat wants to know if he can put his massive tool in my box......"
'....and I think YOU are the hairy baby-maker!'
Father ted, along with The IT crowd and partridge and black books are classic comedy
What about Greenwing, that was brilliant!
Channel 4 really does have the best comedies and is not afraid to take risks.
Father Ted, IT crowd, Ali G, brass eye, Inbetweeners, phoneshop, Friday night dinner and so many more!
@@faisalleeds apart from friday night dinner is there much still going? It's a shame...channel 4 and bbc in the nineties and noughties used to be amazing for comedy.

I've got all those funny comedies on dvd though

I needed this today. Your laugh is infectious. Long live Father Ted!
Your laughter is infectious. Brilliant! If only more people could react this way. True words well spoken.
That whole episode is worth watching, there's even more silly instances of racism & confused signals. Father Ted is one of the best comedies ever.
Yes, when he invents Lings into parochial house to apologize to them and the piece of black tape Ms. Doyle left in the window makes him look like Hitler while he waves to the guests outside 😂😂
This is best “reaction to” video I’ve watched 😂 I loved Father Ted through school. Nice to see someone across the water understand the craic.
Buddy, if you’re laughing this hard at those clips you should watch the whole episode; you’ll probably piss yourself laughing!
2nd on this, it gets even funnier
yes that black mark on the window set up is absolutely genius, besides Curb there is nothing like this nowadays.
Htheorphanarian first time I saw that I laughed so hard I nearly hyperventilated.
My favourite by far though is the kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse episode.
Jack "dying" and the priest saying he could have been Pope. A fecking Polish Pope. It's those Jesuits they've got it all sewn up
Just watch...all of it 🤣
Whether for a reaction, or for your own enjoyment - I highly recommend watching some full episodes. An absolute comedy gem of a series.
This is the best reaction I've seen to that excerpt.
Seriously dude, I've watched father Ted countless times and I laugh. Every. Single. Time.
Seeing you watch this and laughing as much as I do made me laugh even more! If you haven't already, you totally need to watch the entire show. It's incredibly uplifting. ♥️
Same here...must've watched every episode 20 times and I still laugh like a drain!
Father Ted, one of the finest comedies ever.
Oh that was funny, tears rolling down my face 😂
Down with that sort o thing ;)
@@overcoercion590 Careful now.
They didn’t get away with it in Ireland as it was banned. The show was made by Irish people in England. One of my favourite shows.
@@jimwoodgina9604 Yup and I remember the outrage it brought too. The nuns in my secondary school would say to us not to watch. Sure my whole family watched it lol 😂
It's surprising how many Catholic priests were fans of the show.
That's probably the closest I have ever come to seeing a grown man wet himself on RUclips, brilliant mate
Father Ted my favourite, funniest show ever.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am so glad you loved that clip - Father Ted was just so wonderfully ridiculous -
This and only fools and horses are the best ever made
you needed to spin on to the chinese walking across the garden toward the house and ted waving at then through the window, funniest part of this episode.
That whole episode is just the best, Ted just keeps digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself. One of the all time great shows.
My favourite sitcom of all time, but mate, you're watching clips. The full episodes won't get copyrighted and you will get the context of the jokes. You don't even have to start with episode 1 with Father Ted, because it's not a running story.
But watch every episode as there are no duds. Pure genius
I would love for him to watch Father Ted and The IT Crowd, my two favourite shows!

Apparently the Catholic church in Ireland wasnt happy with the show and put pressure on the broadcaster. The irony is that it was probably the best PR the church had received in years. Being able to laugh at your self is incredibly powerful
Aw that stinks it is a great show.
Father Ted, a timeless comedy. Great reaction btw, I was in stitches watching it with you 👍
The one with Brendan grace"if you say that to me again, il put ur head through that wall"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So good to see you laughing. Father Ted is wonderful.
Hi Josh, I stumbled onto this video today as a Fr Ted fan. I just wanted to say I think your comments at the end of the video are very wise and just about the most well adjusted view of everyday life I've heard in a long time. I hope you continue to have such a great handle on things through these tough days and keep on laughing cos it's infectious. Immediate subscribe and can't wait to watch more of your stuff. Take care and stay safe from Dublin Ireland.
"Only, the farm takes up most of the day. And at night i just like a cup of tea" 😂
You really get our humour on this side of the ocean.
You want to try Ted trying to explain to Dougal the difference between "small" and "far away".
"What got you interested in that type of thing, Father?" LOL!!!
I think it's even funnier seeing a genuine reaction!!
Untill listening to you tonight I had felt like there was no hope for any of us. Thank you this has comforted me x
"Dougal these sheep are small. Those ones are far away" - favorite quote
Except those sheep were cows.
It's sad that this is your favourite quote, one of the most memorable ever, and you've gotten your "favourite" quote completely wrong and somehow managed to also think sheep are involved.
"These cows are small, but the ones out there are far away. Small, far away."

"I can explain everything..... actually no, I can't."

You speak wise words sir. Father Ted highlighted the shortfalls in society, through satire and irony.
Father Ted is brilliant and silly like the best of Monty Python. My favourites: Speed parody (milkman) and cigarettes, alcohol and rollerblading. Also the 3 ages of Elvis. But any episode is laugh out loud. Enjoy!

I live in a ''medium'' sized town in Ireland, and the reason it's even more funny, is because everyone knows each other in town and word spreads fast lmao

I was so happy with your reaction, and also jealous that you were getting to see this for the first time. I've seen this thousands of times and it still cracks me up. They didn't show the part with the perfectly formed square of dirt on the window.
The whole episode is excellent. The end especially 😂
So true when you said “the sad thing is nobody really cares about you but the good thing is nobody really cares about you”. We all behave in a certain way because we care what others think but then are quite happy to say that we don’t care what others think. We are all barking mad!
Your laugh is contagious brother😂 love it. What a show this is
