I have same system Elitebook 850 G6 with same problem. After firmware update it requested for bios admin password. After entering by guess, it rebooted and came back working.
Will I ever lose access to the system? Must I enter the bios admin password?
Which other method is available please?
I saw online, a method that says, after 3 wrong entry a code will display, it can be entered in a third-party website to generate a new bios admin password. No code was displayed for in my case. The system just rebooted.

Brother why you open full motherboard??? you can remove pwd through the main bios. It's very simple just replace the firmware [ other bios] the pwd is clear 🎉

Ja gut aber du musst dich dabei sich Erden musst ,wenn du nichts hast dann kannst du notfalls an eine Heizung dran gehen . Aber bringt auch nicht viel man Arbeitet ja an Elektroden die Empindlich sind und die Handschuhe sind speziell dafür gemacht. Rumzuheulen bringt auch nicht also der Typ weis was er macht.
