It's funny you released this video now. I had an event last week and needed to get an audio recorder and cables. I scoured your channel and watched a 7 year old, 20 min video to find the right cables to get.

Nice pack Matt. I have all of these cables. But if I had to re-up I would strongly consider this pack. I’d suggest that you include a male 3.5mm to 1/4 in female adapter in the kit for those DJs that only have a 3.5 mm out or a Y cable 1/4 in male to 3.5mm male. Those who only have a recorder without XLR inputs can uses the Y cable.

Matt: You'll even have a cable if you need to plug into a sound system in the basement of a Catholic Church
Me, A Catholic Wedding Videographer: Oddly specific, but excellent for me!

gotta disagree with the single RCA cable, you won't get the music being played on the dance floor in stereo with one channel, and for moments like the first dance, thats kind of a huge deal.

Ive come across officiants pa's that have 3mm jack outputs so that would be the only other one that I carry. You could just add an adapter to the 6mm (1/4 inch) and you're golden!

I do not recall one instance in wedding venue that dj mixer wants me to give xlr input. It is usally rca or 1/4 inch. The time I see use of xlr is for plug into speaker which usually is xlr input.

I saw someone comment about Mogami Cables.. 😂 I use them as well, but this Kondor Blue All in One for a wedding quick access and easily located works great for people that are event mobile.
Plugging up Mogami outside of a controlled studio setup where you manage the signal is where higher end cables work best and is honestly overkill plugged up to Mixers, Speaker and such where the signal incoming is not the best.
A Bad Signal can’t be fixed with a better cable…. It’s still a low end signal.

  • @cobPhoto
    @cobPhoto 5 месяцев назад

Kondor Blue's website is advertising the cables with XLR ends as "... cables deliver a balanced stereo audio signal which reduces noise ... " which is really weird? A single XLR cable will deliver *either* a balanced mono signal, or an unbalanced stereo signal. A balanced stereo cable will require at least four pins. That's going to be confusing for folks who don't know any better. The video doesn't exactly make the same mistake, but it isn't doing anything to clear that up, either.

You left out a big one...XLR to 2 [L+R] RCA. Some DJs will let you connect out of their console's master RCA.

  • @adrianvasian

I usually record on both channels and with the zoom h4n pro i can set a very low level on one for louder parts of the reception and high level on the other, for that guy that speaks so softly in the microphone that you barely hear anything :))

can you make 3 in 1 ? so this will be the only one cable we need to carry. I think there is no 3 in 1 in the market yet. if you can make it, you will be the only one.

After 15 yrs of doing this, my preference is the RCA record out or a XLR mix out from the speaker. Almost never any problems there. My least favorite is the headphone out from the board. The amount of times it’s come out too hot and/or noisy is crazy. My advice there is steer clear.
I’ve also started splitting the cable before it goes into my zoom recorder, so that I can set the two inputs to different levels to handle a wide range of volume (obviously not necessary for 32 but float folks).
I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve never even tried the receiver output. 😂

My favorite audio cables/inputs are Mogami especially their Gold cables. Everything about Mogami is great because they have been specializing in audio cables for over 40 years. I learned about them their my musician friends as they only buy quality cables because those cheap amazon cables will cause static noises.
