I think we have to deliberately avoid the use of the word "illiterate" for our parents, it will be more appropriate to use the expression not having "western/formal education" rather than "illiterate".
Our parents that didn't attend the western form of school are more intelligent than our so-called graduates, PhD holders and professors of today.

We really cannot do that because it is not yet crystalized that we have our own civilization, hence we will continue to call our fathers illiterate, when they had their own educational structure, what they teach for values.

He has so much story to document for posterity, starting from the Jan 66 coup, the counter coup, Ironsi's fate, civil war years, post war, change of schedule for handover to civil rule, Murtala coup, his implication in the Dimka coup, life in exile, life back in Nigeria, interactions with Ojukwu post war and whatever else you wish to add 😉

@adstix reverse psychology bully won't work on these type of men.
People in their close corridors have heard the stories of how things really unraveled and can tell us as it is, but we will hardly believe them cause it's not directly from the horses mouth.
My hope is that when they see clips like this from OBJ and the other OGs, it should ginger them to open their hearts up and share

@1anre if you never narrate your story, others will do so for you. And it is never guaranteed that third-party narrators will be 100% factual.
Gowon, Danjuma, IBB, etc. can either tell us while they still can or their families have to live with secondhand versions for eternity!

From handing over to a civilian government (shehu shagari), to his role in quelling the civil war, to standing up to abacha and being jailed for it, and becoming the first civilian president of our latest republic.
