The amount of attack you get with that base drum is insane. Sounds otherworldly. You do so much with the bare minimum
Sounds like it has a trigger, which wouldn't be all that surprising since Rev usually recorded with triggers himself, especially in City of Evil
I'm such a huge fan of The Rev that I usually cringe at covers of his stuff. But that was beautiful man...you added a bunch of awesome sauce but stayed true where it mattered. Amazing work!!!

I may be wrong, but I always thought he used like an app or something like that to put the song in it and actually remove the drums. I sorta remember he said something about it in an older video. It wasn't a paid advertisement or anything, but he still talked about it at the end of the video I'm referring to. Like I said, I may be wrong. I could be thinking about something else. But I'm almost sure that's what he said.

Probably not what he used but for a lot of older popular rock and metal songs you'll find rock band or whatever it's called screen videos. But generally that type of drum notation is pretty popular and there's tons of drum charts of pretty unknown songs aswell, but these usually still have the drums in em. And otherwise get Moises, pretty awesome app, but if you really wanna use that you definitely have to get the premium. Already just for this song, cause you can't do songs longer than 5 minutes and not more than 5 per month I believe. And all the other features are limited as well. And the quality of the songs you're extracting is also worse

Generally don’t comment on much, as a drummer I am really struggling with how it’s so quick yet looks like you’ve got another three gears to go into - the accuracy is what The Rev, Portney etc are famous for this is immaculate
Speed drumming isn't hard in terms of the material, generally--it's more of your muscles. It takes a lot of muscle building to be able to play as fast as metal drummers do for long stretches of time. That's why you see Portnoy, Mangini, The Rev, etc. all having massive forearms.
