@therunawaykid6523 The map is small that's true. But the lack of progression in Motorfest completely destroyed the joy. I even tried to refund the game but it was too late. It doesn't make any sense to have our own cars and not to be able to race and upgrade them.

Yeah this looks great I used to love just cruising around the map it was so cool to see the other players driving around the map as well and seeing what car they were driving. To me motorfest just doesn’t seem the same as the first two crew games the maps in the first two games are so fun to drive around and explore - I hope we get to jump back into the first crew game again I miss it
It might be possible to restore this game for consoles too. Because you can host server outside of your local machine. So the only thing to do would be to change server address. Things like that may be stored outside of source code (in some config files etc). And I know about some games that got restored for consoles. For example Transformers games :)
Hope they figure out a way to play with more that 4 players in a crew and hopefully make it some where like 32 players or something with such a big map and can only drive with 3 of your friends. I wanna cruise with the whole town
I've been on their discord for a while now. I knew someone would do this but I didn't expect it to happen so soon. Definitely keeping an eye on their progress and of course playing it once it's ready.
this game being savable in its original state is amazing and definitely worth the effort, however i cant help but think about a moddable version. imagine we got a the crew 1m, that would be the ultimate game, i could see people being raid spec hyper cars or more race spec cars. i know that the crew 2 model is what they chose to continue with but the crew 1s spec system really caught my imagination while the crew 2s system just didnt.
So basically they are bringing it back just like nfs world, but if the host thingy worked and you can play offline or create a session as a host to play with friends, that will be way better experience than nfs world, its also a way to f*** ubisoft and their choices, if there is an option to join a public server created by the modder himself that will be fun as there will be events and maybe new contents and updates, its like bringing the game to life again as it should be even better
Yeah that is what I am wondering as well maybe they give you a download link or something can’t wait to play the first crew game agin I had so much fun just cruising around and exploring the nice large us map
Im Happy knowing that this gem is being fixed up n made playable again but im also somewhat sad that this would most likely only apply to PC but theoretically since its just a server issue would it be possible to get console copies of the crew to also connect. Just thought this but if modding is possible this revived crew with mods could rival AC if the right Mods were made (Graphics, sound, weather, handling) and since the in game camera/video mode is so well made we could in theory make mini movies
Yeah I actually sold the ps4 disc as I had the pc version but then of course the servers were shut down meaning the disc game and digital version of the game were absolutely useless and the game couldn’t even be played, I’m very much looking forward to this revival project
It should be illegal for game developers to make you pay for a game that they can just disconnect at any time. They should have an offline patch (that keeps all features besides online) before they shut down their own servers by law.
Why do you think that Gran Turismo Sport received an offline patch by the end of its life? For Polyphony themselves to prevent lawsuits and make sure our money is worth to keep the game and continue grinding to buy cars and play endless hours for fun despite they went full online focused racing Gran Turismo 7 will receive a offline patch by the end of its life
I never finished this game on playstation and i honestly wish i did. Even more so now as i have a ton more free time as I've finished my exams. If the servers didnt go offline I'd be finishing it right now. If there is any way to get it past this point once the project is done I'll be on it as soon as i can (but I need a PC first)
I'm also glad and excited!!!! these guys do god's work! Ubisoft should be ashamed! Also on the self hosted server part, what would be great is to have the option to change the drop rate of the parts, xp, rewards etc... No more stupid grind ^^ I just pray Ubisoft doesn't shut this down...(my biggest fear)
I'm really excited, never actually gotten around of playing the game other than the demo, this means that I now actually can when it gets released, amazing work that they are doing
I wonder how the release would/will be handled. I think it should be a seperate game altogether, because I can't imagine modding the steam/ubisoft launcher version somehow to make it playable again. Then it'd have to be free to play to not warrant lawsuits from Ubisoft (even then, legacy CoD launchers like this seem to be were shut down by Activision before, because how dare you buy a decade old game with no support and very real security risks for full price) Would be interesting to know what's planned, if it's a seperate game I'd refund the steam version
TC1 enhanced with mods and quality of life changes to stuff like the handling and physics would legitimately be my dream racing game
The important ingredient of custom ai opponents and races is also on dream racing games too, I want offline to be Infinitely Replayable
If you think about it, a game with the level of mods similar to GTA 5 or Assetto Corsa but having a map size of 3000m^2 is insane
Yup@@Not_Aran8276

To me motorfest just doesn’t seem the same as the first two crew games the maps in the first two games are so fun to drive around and explore - I hope we get to jump back into the first crew game again I miss it
It might be possible to restore this game for consoles too. Because you can host server outside of your local machine. So the only thing to do would be to change server address. Things like that may be stored outside of source code (in some config files etc). And I know about some games that got restored for consoles. For example Transformers games :)
Thanks for the support Theo, amazing as always
Hope they figure out a way to play with more that 4 players in a crew and hopefully make it some where like 32 players or something with such a big map and can only drive with 3 of your friends. I wanna cruise with the whole town
Anyone remember Need for Speed World? When it shut down. Playable as a community made game
I would love to play The Crew 1 again, hope it will be possible soon and like the idea of an own save game that can never be taken away... :)
thank you 🙏 :) for letting me know, thank you awesome people for sticking it to the man!
I was so annoyed with what they did but the fact that they are bringing it back makes me so happy 👍
Yeah the people reviving it are awesome
How do you get it though do they give you a custom game download, as you can't buy it or use a bought copy? I gotta play when it's finished.
Modern steering wheel support would be a game changer for me... Hell keen!
Might as well bin my physical copy or put it through a shredder
Yeah I actually sold the ps4 disc as I had the pc version but then of course the servers were shut down meaning the disc game and digital version of the game were absolutely useless and the game couldn’t even be played, I’m very much looking forward to this revival project
This is awesome but I’m sad that this probably isn’t coming to consoles
It will eventually, we just need to figure out the PC port first
Perhaps I'll finally play the Crew 1 after all. I trust modders more than Ubisoft.
It’s pretty fun, There were a lot of cool stuffs that were included in there that weren’t in the second or motocross.
I hope potentially we could get realistic car handling for this game
Moders can create better games than famous game studios. That's it ;)
Sad, not made by Ubishit. It shows how tbey don't care about their customer and what they spent, they don't even care about reserving their legacy
sucks that this is more than likely PC only and not available on console
Yoo I love you videos!
This might be when i get the game to play for the first time
It should be illegal for game developers to make you pay for a game that they can just disconnect at any time.
They should have an offline patch (that keeps all features besides online) before they shut down their own servers by law.
Why do you think that Gran Turismo Sport received an offline patch by the end of its life?
For Polyphony themselves to prevent lawsuits and make sure our money is worth to keep the game and continue grinding to buy cars and play endless hours for fun despite they went full online focused racing
Gran Turismo 7 will receive a offline patch by the end of its life
Wait is it possible for them to add car brands and cars that were never in the game?
With mods possibly
I never finished this game on playstation and i honestly wish i did. Even more so now as i have a ton more free time as I've finished my exams. If the servers didnt go offline I'd be finishing it right now. If there is any way to get it past this point once the project is done I'll be on it as soon as i can (but I need a PC first)
Progress #6 is out. Lets goooooooooo
It should become an industry standard for online games that everyone can host a server.
Is it possible to bring The Crew 2 car models into The Crew 1?
Hope so
if they get full offline, no internet at all, gameplay working I'll be playing on my steam deck so much
i am so happy that they are going to save this game. i just started playing the game
With mods, fans of the game will be able to bring back even the online mode! It may take a while, but they can certainly do it.
me after hearing the modding stuff: instantly looking for all the initial d cars and other cars
The crew 1 was fire
Its still is
I'm also glad and excited!!!! these guys do god's work! Ubisoft should be ashamed!
Also on the self hosted server part, what would be great is to have the option to change the drop rate of the parts, xp, rewards etc...
No more stupid grind ^^
I just pray Ubisoft doesn't shut this down...(my biggest fear)
My opinion thats how it should of been from the start on you could play it offline and if you want play online with random players and friends
I'm really excited, never actually gotten around of playing the game other than the demo, this means that I now actually can when it gets released, amazing work that they are doing
theoretical mod support sounds a lot like minecraft modding tbh, which means it's more than doable with local server hosting
always online requirement is pure evil. happy to see that crew could be saved! hope something like this could happen with nfs 2015
they need to make it that you can start a new game if you already beat it before the shutdown
Every day draws me closer and closer to buying and/or biulding a pc. If only i currently wasnt modifying my car irl so much i could afford it now
I wonder how the release would/will be handled. I think it should be a seperate game altogether, because I can't imagine modding the steam/ubisoft launcher version somehow to make it playable again. Then it'd have to be free to play to not warrant lawsuits from Ubisoft (even then, legacy CoD launchers like this seem to be were shut down by Activision before, because how dare you buy a decade old game with no support and very real security risks for full price)
Would be interesting to know what's planned, if it's a seperate game I'd refund the steam version
I think it will be a separate thing. Something like Soap Box Race World for Need For Speed World if you played that.
It’s gonna use a different launcher
