But overall, wow, what an amazing finale for TOH. Between the animation, the music, and ofc the story. Dana and the team did an amazing job

"Owl finale time"
Owl finale time, indeed. Even through this show ended months ago i still miss it.
I love this finale. If i had one problem with it, it would be that i wish they had more time to go into the collector's backstory. If i had one biggest praise for this finale, its that belos wasn't redeemed and was even killed by the main characters for being such an awful person(if i had another praise, it would be that they didn't pull a star vs "let's combine the two worlds"). Honestly, like you, i think belos might just be the best disney show villain ever because he's just an evil human.
While I feel The Hardest Thing was the better finale (I still can't watch the last few minutes without tearing up a bit) both were fitting for the stories they were telling.
I love the parallels both Luz and Anne displayed with their divine forms being opposites of what they both envisioned themselves as at the beginning of their journeys. For Anne, she was constantly viewed as a grubby, weak-willed slacker and she internalized a lot of other's views of her to the point it actively hindered her development. Then, after everything she's fought to build and protect both on Earth and Amphibia, she grows strong enough to embody her own true strength, wit, and heart; a luminous being of potential set in motion.
For Luz, she began her story in a lonely position she felt she couldn't break out of, but felt she had to put on a happy face to appease others. All her grand efforts to break through to others resulted in further isolation and feelings that she really was just an outcast that couldn't fit in. She idolized her fantasy hero Azura as the version of herself she wanted to be; a flawless, well-loved pillar of support and confidence that shone as bright as her white witch robes.
However, as the show progresses and Luz confronts her own trials, her image of being the shining beacon of peace is brutally tested and brings her to the conclusion that she can't realistically be that kind of hero. She is messy and flawed, but those don't necessarily bar her from achieving success in her own way. And so, with a better understanding of herself by the end, Papa Titan (a being who was also separated and hunted by others for their differences) is fully confident in blessing her with the power to make her a being more powerful than anything the Boiling Isles had seen so far. Luz emerges in her true form, not looking like Azura in pristine white witch robes, but a dark, seemingly demonic human that only amplifies her inner light, shining brighter than ever with divine righteousness.
TL / DR version: Matt and Dana's teams both did amazing jobs with both full-powered protagonists' designs and they perfectly embody the journey and lessons that brought them to this point. Both finales are fantastic, I'm grateful to have found both amazing fandoms, and it is very sad knowing that this is probably the end of lore-driven animated series for quite some time. At least it went out on a high note and we'll have years of art and fanfics to keep them both alive.
That was an Amazing ending. I cried, laughed, and cheered, Dana did everything she could to bring this story to us, and despite the obstacles, she managed to make it really great! Thank you Dana for giving us this wonderful show. Bless her soul and her crew! 10/10 would watch it again

Gus’s time skip design is one of the best “casual” design for a character imo
this episode was such a satisfying finale in so many ways and did so much well. i was just a little sad to think about all the extra things we could've gotten if we only had more time. we can only hope we get more owl house content in some form.
two of my personal hangups are that we barely got v screentime and that we never really got to delve into hunter's trauma and see him work through that. i'll just have to assume that offscreen he's seeing a therapist lol. we also didn't get much of him being a part of the noceda family in the finale so i also am just going to assume he bounces around his adoptive parents/families (darius, the clawthornes, and camila)
+ the fact that they made the final 3 episodes spell out thanks for watching makes me want to scream and sob. so much love went into this show. im really going to miss it. there's something about. when people get to make their passion project and share that with the world and they're just so thankful to have gotten the chance and for the support they've received even if they get screwed over. it's very heartwarming to see and makes me really emotional.
also can we all just applaud the crew for not going "friendship and forgiveness is always the answer, even for people who are the scum of the earth" they said F THAT stomp this man's corpse. love everything said about/the actions taken towards belos this episode. he really is one of the best villains i've seen in a long time, not even just in cartoons.
after having time to process, im pretty disappointed hunter wasn't able to get in on the belos stomping. if anyone deserved to be there it was him. but i understand why they weren't able to do it like that, and time restraints etc etc. i can headcanon that luz and eda saved a scrap of belos to bring back so hunter could stomp on it lol
+ recently i rewatched s1 with friends (their first time watching) and saw a LOT of callbacks that show up in this episode that go all the way back to the start of the series. very cool. definitely recommend people giving it a rewatch themselves to discover those
also i just want to thank you for your time and energy in getting this reaction series out, thank you for sharing your journey with us. ive watched almost every toh reaction out there but yours were a highlight for me. i love how genuine you are in your reactions and your EXPRESSIONS. were so real, so funny. extremely relatable. really feel like im reliving my first experience with the show through you. im sad this series is finally over, but im excited for whatever you react to next!

I want to point out something.
In Amphibia, Anne sacrificed herself in order to defeat The Core. They won, but at the cost of her life.
*Luz got killed.*
Belos is the reason she died. HE KILLED HER. If Papa Titan didn't bring her back, they'd have been screwed. Belos would've won. Also, if The Collector hadn't let go of the light, Luz wouldn't have appeared in the space between realms. Him holding onto that last light would've doomed them.
I'm going to express my feelings on the owl house here. The popularity of the show bothered me a lot since I didn't like season 1.. I just didn't understand. Than season 2 happened and I was onboard immediately, it sucks that season 3 got screwed over but it had the best ending I could have asked for. I still think amphibia is better but man what a redemption story for me
Season 1 was more like your normal Disney stuff for kids, then season 2 and 3 took over and blew us all away with awesome writing and smooth animations. So, is that why it was good for you?
@@oprime Honestly I hated a handful of episodes of season 1. Mainly because of inconsistencies to common sense to characters, stories of a few episodes and just bad writing in general. I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for saying this but I didn't believe The Owl House was a good show until it proved me wrong in season 2. There is a video somewhere on RUclips that explains my feelings on the situation if you want to try and find it
I’m kinda the same. Tho I had actually seen 3 episodes of s1 and dropped the show cuz it didn’t click with me. Then I remember a certain reviewer said the rest of s1 sucked and had plot holes (turns out those plot holes were intentionally unanswered questions that were answered in s2) so I didn’t check out the rest cus I had no reason to doubt just based off of s1’s first 3.
I gave it another chance later on and realized how absolutely wrong I was, cuz episodes past 3 were way better. And then the second Disney’s interference lessened (Dana says when it happened, towards the end of s1), the show’s quality skyrocketed.
I’m glad I gave it a second chance. And I wish Disney hadn’t ruined s3. It’s funny how Disney is literally the only reason the show didn’t take off and was prevented from becoming the masterpiece it should’ve been. It gained success entirely on its own merits despite Disney sabotage and I’m glad I saw it.

I live for reaction series like these because it's the closest i can get to actually watching the show again for the first time. Just made my way through all your Owl House ones and had a fantastic time! This is by far and away my favorite animated children's show of all time. Can't wait to watch more of your stuff!

I still love this finale. Sure it was tropey, but I think it was done extremely well, especially considering the time the team was allotted to pull it off. I still cant believe we got Owl House and Amphibia simultaneously and that they were both so, so good. Its a hard order to dethrone gravity falls but at the very least i think we live in a Triarchy now, its so hard for me to place one over the others.
