    There’s only one correct answer based on what we saw with his Herdman-lite tactics: No.
    A win against T&T did nothing for his case since the team practically had a camp to prepare and showed no tactical approach. Was just a bunch of individuals who beat another team on raw talent. The team needs a more tactically savvy coach

      @blakemiller1349 Месяц назад +1

      I agree, yes T&T had 9 men behind the ball out of possesion, but even still, with the talent gap Biello should have been able to forumlate a plan to break it down, also the set pieces were absolutley horrendous.

    No one impressed me in this match except maybe Shaffelburg. However, many players underwhelmed me. Canada needs to play with a 3 man central midfield all of the time. Whether it's a 4-5-1, or 3-5-2, or whatever, we need a dedicated CAM to create plays in the center of the field, which will then give more space to wingers like Davies and Buchanan. If we do this, our strikers will get a lot more service and score more goals. Biello tactics don't seem very sharp and so I hope to see a new manager.

  • @vincerogers1618

  • @Jordan-RW
    @Jordan-RW Месяц назад +10

    Not a chance, sorry. The formation was garbage. Players were playing out of position and there was no proper game plan. In my eyes, the way we play, using a 4-2-2-2 formation (staggered) that allows the full backs the push up when in attacking positions and strikers to play off each other works best for this team. Again, playing players in their proper positions (LB: Davies, LW/RW: Tajon, RB: Johnston) is key to the success of this team moving forward. This team will struggle playing the same way they did against T&T against Chile & Peru - forget about Argentina.

    Why not Piette as the 3rd in the middle? I have never been very excited about Piette but he was actually quite solid at the WC when he was in. He has proven himself able to play at that level and that is surely a big deal. I'd like to see a 4-5-1 deployed against Argentina with a CDM, and there's little question that Piette is the only true CDM we have on the radar right now. We must realize we cannot play Argentina (or Netherlands) with the front-footed style we've so loved from Canada.

    What else do we expect? He cant take the corners.

    No no and no!
    He is part of the problem within the national team... He's a plug n play manager and it's showing with the on field product!
    Canada is not deep enough to just plug n play and even nations that are don't run PNP coaches if they want to win!
    It has been evident that the national team needs a coach who'll command the awe, attention and respect of the players.
    In his handful of games Biello has looked a step behind, refused the change basic setups to adjust to the opposition, given too much leeway to the players!
    Case in point, versus T&T the 343 was not penetrating the mid deep 3rd where T&T were the weakest! Two mids (Holding & attacking) was not enough to control the center of the pitch and gave too much space for T&T to counter over the top of our WCB's.
    At this level adjustments need to be made! He even had the personal who started to do the trick in a 3412. If he dropped J.David central as an attacking mid until the half then made adjustments with bench personnel!
    Sorry but has put of his league at this level

    It comes down to how much money the CSA can put up to get someone better. And I say it every window - Kamal Miller is over-rated. Will be great when we get to see de Fougerolles play 90 minutes and how he can improve our defense, which is our biggest weakness. Need to have three midfielders on the pitch as well.

      Kevin Blue was asked whether or not Canada Soccer was at any real risk of bankruptcy and he answered definitively "no" - that such words as 'bankrupt' are sometimes thrown around for effect (gets attention). Seemed to really clearly indicate that the organization is not broke. One might read behind the lines of something else going on that is behind the apparent money issues.....but regardless, I was encouraged by his statements and optimistic we could see a proper coach appointed.

    If Coach Mauro will be taking the Canadian soccer team to the Copa America my advice to him want to qualify to the knockout and semi-finals there must be cohesion between the players, playing simple,selfless, working on the recover rate of the players on and off the ball not making a lot of mistakes, patience ,defending as a unit, taking half chances and scoring, playing to the tune of the referees whistle,letting the players encourage each other when the going becomes tough( against South American teams were they have a very excellent ball joggers , their approach of shooting on target is excellent in terms of long range they also have creative players who can change the game when the going gets tough , good defenders , good goalkeepers, the strikers should practise a lot of shot carling,long range shot on target and should shot the ball on target when there is open space in their opponent half , He should approach each game one after another during the course of the tournament and let the players be optimistic ,the strikers should always be at the right place or position themselves well on the pitch and always place the ball ,encourage each other as well as play with passion . Well done Mauro.
    talented players and their players play with passion, have played together for a longer time, for example angel de Maria, have played with Messi for a long time so if Messi ‘s back is facing the opponent post because he has played with him for a long time he knows where he is position on the pitch, with Chilean their striker Alex Sanchez, Vidal , also know each other very well so in soccer one most important thing is if there is cohesion , bond and togetherness it’s easy for any coach to use his tactics, pattern and also know how to change his tactics when the going gets tough or when some players are not having a good day on the pitch during the tournament. Mauro should work on the players especially , defenders ,midfielders off and on the ball not to lose possession easily and also if Mauro wants to play and qualify to the knock out and semi- finals, the Canadian players who will be selected should be discipline on the pitch, play simple, cover for their team mate position for them if they are not there, the defenders should set the off side in their own half very well, they should not waste time when they are leading and also be very very optimistic when the game is not going on well or are not in favour of them in playing free kicks, corner kicks to create goal scoring and take half goal scoring opponents and score defend as a unit and be patient,they should also encourage each other and not complain or shoot on their team mate if the going gets tough. The goal keepers should also communicate with the defenders and know how to position himself when there is free kicks, corners and counter attack and always practise how to play simple,play selfless ,not concede unnecessary fouls which will result in bookable offence and also let them believe in themselves that they can do it. Approach every match or game one after another they can cause upset in the upcoming Copa America Tournament. ( Sacking Coach Mauro at this moment doesn’t help or will not help the players because he knows their strength and weakness of his players and should let him continue since he qualified them to the Copa American tournament he should be assess by his performance including his back room staff and technical team after the tournament.
