- In this episode, my most in-depth yet, I visit the RUclips Studio in Los Angeles, CA to sit and chat with Asad "52Kards" Chaudhry to discuss his success as a content creator, the unprecedented kickstarter campaigns for his Mint playing cards and he also teaches an impressively easy and deceptive card control. The first edition Mint Playing Cards. Launched via Kickstarter on Feb 1st 2016. The decks amassed a fantastic $125,000 in crowdfunding. Available in Red and Black launch editions with an additional special casino-style full-bleed limited edition as well. The tuck cases were all printed on premium matte cardstock with two color foil accents and embossing. They feature minimalist design that highlight the mint logo and branding on the front and a representation of the back design on the back
After some delays due to the sheer numbers of decks being produced the 2nd edition decks, also printed by the USPCC, finally arrived in the hands of backers as of may of 2019. Originally offered in Blueberry it was seconds before the cucumber green edition as well as the frost white Kickstarter exclusive deck were made available as stretch goals. The decks echo the design of the previous editions of the mint playing cards; minimalist aesthetic, strong branding and premium materials. The final deck stretch goal unlock was a limited edition Foil Frost variant that included Bicycle’s expensive and proprietary metal luxe print application on the backs. Asad also included a 8 card gaff pack for free as an added bonus to give back to his backers after their incredible support.

Your shipping to Canada sucks. Still haven't received my cards 3+ weeks after the "Shipped" notification, and 6 months after the initial Kickstarter backing. Success, yes, but was a corner cut on international shipping? Kind of frustrating for this consumer.

What I like most about The Parlour deck is the visual presentation. The art on the box, back, and faces is all extremely cohesive.
The best part of this deck for me is watching you talk about the deck. You are like a child who made a gift for their mother in Sunday school and cant wait to see her reaction when she opens the present on Mother's day. Eager with anticipation and nervous inside. You've done well, keep up the good work.
I love how simultaneously simple and complex the parlours are. They look standard but are really unique.
What I like most about this is the level of intricacy and dedication applied to this project. Often I feel hesitant or left in the dark with KS card projects but this has been a beacon of truth for how it should be done. I love how the design of the Parlour deck is so intricate but in the details you can see that right out the gate all of the obvious time & effort that really shows through; I truly love how much it really compliments the The Gentlemen Wake's style of sort of the Victorian era and it instantly brings me straight back to the new recently updated look of the setting for the room you do your deck reviews in. It is such a perfect addition to any playing card collection

The card backs and the font on the tuck case drew me in, simple yet elegant, refined and subtle, nod to vintage style, love it.
The thing that attracted me most to the Parlour decks is the way they so clearly reflect the character of the creators, while still being very obviously part of a much larger tradition of playing card design (i.e. the perfect balance of standard and custom!)
What I love the most about this deck ? The simple fact that I see myself enjoying... Offering it to my family and friends, wheter they are into collecting playing cards or playing with them. Plain and simple. Once again, congrats for a well deserved success!
Congrats on the insane kickstarter from beginning to end! This is the first kickstarter that I have ever supported and I definitely plan on supporting future projects! Somehow you guys convinced me to spent close to $200! Lol
The level of detail to the cards and tuck boxes is insane! I love that these cards are so representative of your channel!
There are two main things I absolutely like about the Parlour Playing Cards:
The tuck case is an absolute eye catcher. I think you can see the love which is put in this project right on the case.
And secondly, you really nailed the font. For me, this is the real highlight about this deck!!
For me the Parlour Deck isnt just a Card deck i want to play with. I recently found your channel and got straight into cards and collecting them. I love the Art within them and appreciate the time that went into creating them. I’m hyped every single time you upload a new video, so the Parlour isn’t just another collectors item for me, it’s a opportunity to support this amazing channel first of all and yes for sure it looks fireeeee🔥 instantly backet the Collectors Box and it will be my first gilded deck ever but unfortunately I will not open it to keep it special, so with this give away I could open, play around and display them at my special spot, reserved for the best decks I own.

The parlour playing cards are by far my favourite deck of this year so far. They’re so elegant and classy and they’re really eye catching as well. What I love most? I don’t even know. This deck is absolutely amazing and every single aspect of it is really well done and I am super impressed with the end result.
What I love the most is like choosing which of your kids you love the most....it has such a beautiful tuck case, but also the back design and face designs are superb! The colours that you used are also very pretty, and give a very luxorious feel to the cards.
I watched the project explode from the moment you launched it to what it is currently. The difference that I love about it is the thought and effort that went into the designing and production of the deck. With a market that is over-saturated with new cards and mediocre designs, it touches my heart to see the love for playing cards that you have being poured out into the Parlour deck!

I am a fan of the story behind the deck. The deck i see it as an extension of someone’s history and future. As being a TGW follower/subscriber, you have brought your home and family into my world, playing cards was NEVER a thought in my mind until I seen you reviews, this triggered an awakening, excitement, and ignited a Curiosity toward this art. I started reading and buying cards, now I am still a newbie, but have found a new interest in my life. So to ask what do i like about the deck, it is a reminder how I became to love such a unique art, cardistry, magic, and collecting cards. End all be all, i feel like this deck is an extension of myself as we have similar likes and dislikes. Keep up the great work TGW family!!!

What I like most about this deck is the way it conveys the enthusiasm its creative team has for playing cards. Enthusiasm... with class. It's an homage to the Parlour, that idea of a meeting place for those who love playing cards. Lorenzo's clean design is in perfect harmony with TGW's stated vision. I believe I would feel at home at the Parlour, and I believe these cards will be right at home with me. :-)

My favorite thing about the Parlour deck was watching you and this project grow. With each new video I watched I could see small cardistry moves getting sharper and its is so cool to watch your channel and brand grow!! That is my favorite part!!

Such a great episode. My interest for cards began around the same time you started this channel. What i like about the Parlour is getting to watch the process unfold through your channel. I knew you would eventually launch your own cards to great success and as a backer, I'm glad to contribute a grain of sand.
I'm a new subscriber. I've recently gotten into card collecting and magic. When you started your campaign on Kickstarter, I KNEW I wanted the Parlour deck. This is the first Kickstarter I've ever backed, and the first time I've ever bought a brick of cards! The back design on the Parlour deck is amazing, but it was the change to the King and Queen of hearts that is my favorite thing about these! And the gold filling around the edge of the Dynastinae deck reflecting the 7 in the picture just blew me away!! All in all, GREAT job! I will be a loyal subscriber from here to infinity! Congratulations on the success with your first deck. Before I state my favorite thing about it I’d like to say how much I appreciate the attention to production in your videos. Even the ads fall during the pauses or transitions instead of mid-sentence. A lot of RUclipsrs could learn something here. I’m sure your 6k subs will be closer to his million before you know it.

What I like most? Oh boy where do I start? I absolutely love is the entire design and vibe of the cards. It's elegant and classy and the intricate backs is astonishing alongside the court cards that never fail to catch our attention. I love that it's also brought by you, someone who is so passionate about cards and it's a must have as your fan and a lover of all things cards. The Parlour deck is one of the most successful decks I have ever seen funded and it really does deserve all the hype. Congratulations and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.
What's not to love about the Parlour deck? The tuck looks amazing, the backs too and level of detail and thought put into the deck is amazing.

You're an awesome representative of luxury playing cards. =) As for the Parlour decks, they really do a fantastic job of amalgamating my favorite aspects of various luxury deck creators! What I love about Parlour deck?
Exactly same as Asad they are highly detailed, and yet they feel "classic". I love the back designes that have that "classic" feeling. Also, the Ace of spades looks DOOOOPEEEEE
I like the overall aesthetic design. You've captured your channel and more importantly, yourself into these decks of cards. The colour choices are are very pleasing to the eye and the design is well balanced. If I had a man cave, I would honestly make those jokers into posters to display on my wall (new stretch goal! lol). Congrats again on the successful launch of your brand!!

I like the effort you and stockholm17 put into the deck and all the stretch goals. I started off with an early brick backer to support you, but then you came out with the black, the coins the gaff cards! I'm definately investing a lot into this kickstarter. My favorite thing about the kickstarter though is how its tailored to magicians. Great work!

What I like the most about the deck is how you managed to brand it and associate its theme with your channel. Knew about the project but had never seen your channel, looking at the video now, I can clearly see the amount and type of work is similar and done by someone who loves this playing cards world.

My favorite part of the Parlour playing cards is actually two thing :) First, I love just how intricate the back design is and how the design lends itself to a single colorway so easily. Sometimes card backs can become so intricate or multicolored that it can be distracting from the feeling and overall story you are trying to tell. Secondly, I love that the black edition of the deck has Cartamundi's cold foil on it. I fell in love with the look when the House of the Rising Spade deck was released, and seeing it again here only made the deck look even better than it already did! Keep up the great work and good luck on the rest of your campaign!

I didn't even realize you were at 6k followers. I just assumed you were one of those channels with a million plus based on the quality of the content you provide. Like holy crap, that's some serious dedication and work that you put into this even at such a young (I don't want to say small) channel. The Parlour decks are the first time I have gone all in on a Kickstarter campaign. I trust Stockholm17 because the Ravn decks are some of my favorites and with your eye for detail and class, I know these will not even remotely disappoint even the most critical and judgmental cardists and collectors out there.

Seriously, what isn't there to love about the Parlour deck. That tuck is incredible with that font and that cigar band. The backs of the cards are so detailed yet simple. And that ace of spades... Come on... Who doesn't want to make sweet love to that ace of spades. I can't wait to get this deck in my hands. Seriously, one of the most anticipated decks for me. I cannot wait to experience these cards.
I don't feel this way about cards often, but it's just amazing. Some decks are just made for me and I can't get enough of them.

I really like that the back design is special and custom while still maintaining a classic vibe so additionally to just collecting this piece of art you can also use them to do magic, plaing cards, cardistry, etc. Because that is still the core of playing cards; use them!

Great interview of Asad and 52Kards. I love the Parlour because it's got a little of everything, including semi-custom courts to reflect TGW and yet, it's still very usable for basic gameplay.
i love intricacy of the back design especially the blue one, and the tuck case is so beautiful. I could see myself just feeling and playing with the tuck case alone.

I'm a huge fan of minimalism and subtle detail and you really did well with that! I'm a beginning card collector and I would love to add this deck to my collection; it's beautiful and holds the eye, but it doesnt overwhelm you- very elegantly done.
