The Gentleman rocks!!! I am a 68 yr old Grandma, lifelong canasta player and never new there was so much to learn about playing cards until I discovered The Gentleman Wake channel! Fantastic video, fabulous content, wonderful Gentleman & Wife too!!
I have to say, I haven't been introduced to any designers I hadn't heard of, but it has raised my opinions of some of them. The tucks for the Ascension decks are amazing, and that foiling for the Monolith! WOW. Giovanni has always been one of the best designers in my opinion, up there with Jackson, Lotrek and S17, but those Monolith have to be one of the most impressive works of art i've seen! Great video!
It's also in 2019 when I found out about cardistry and felt almost immediately passionate about it. The video proves again there's an endless number of possibilities of deck designs and that creativity isn't missing in this community. Thanks a lot again for introducing me to all these talented artists and I hope that soon I could clench on at least one of these cards, especially the pagan one. I still can't believe why I haven't heard of it earlier...
Holy- I disappeared from the cardistry community for a couple of months due to schooling and lost touch on the latest decks and looking to throw myself back into the gist of things and I am absolutely blown away by Steve Minty and the signature Ascension deck. I would have never fathomed the 3D look and how intricate it is. Bonkers. Cannot wait to get back into the community, another fantastic video! And your own deck is definitely belongs in the top 3!
I essentially learned about the entirety of the playing card world through this channel. The reviews here are amazing and I always look forward to them. Thanks to your extensive work, my knowledge of designers has gone from almost none to a respectable level.
I'd be lost on finding these hidden gem limited playing cards without your channel. I think the De Novo deck was my favorite that you introduced me to in this video. Another great video! Wish you could produce more, I always look forward to these. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your collaboration with Lotrek.
You introduced me to the Kings Wild deck, and I immediately rushed to their website to purchase one. I can't tell you how nostalgic I felt watching your presentation, and seeing the Jokers rendered by Jackson's daughters immediately resonated with me as I have a daughter that would have come up with something quite similar. Thank you! Great list and reviews.
Before watching this video, I have no idea that there are actually so much beautiful playing cards in 2019. Whenever I wanna buy a new deck, I come straight to your channel. I really really like your videos, keep it on!
Its only been a week since I came to know about your channel. In fact, I never knew that there are so many premium playing card decks as well as artists/designers/magicians who put in so much of effort in making them. Since then I have binge watched a lot of your reviews. It's hard to choose one but the provision looks very attractive to me. And I must say, designer Giovanni Maroni's art skill is over 9000. The quality of content is definitely off the charts. There's no doubt you will reach a million+ subscribers someday!!!
all of these premium decks are new to me, i only know about bicycle decks before. Thank you for your awesome video that show me another world of playing cards !
I’ve heard of Thirdway Industries but never really took notice until I saw your review of the MONOLITH Playing cards. Steve Minty is also a designer I’ve yet to discover. And oh boy was it a treat. If this were my top 10 decks of 2020, all decks featured will be in the TOP 1. Love your channel!
Hey TGW I love your videos man! You have introduced me to sooooo many designers and decks. I've raised my collection from about 40 up to 80 or so decks this year. Steve Minty, Giovanni Meroni, and Lotrek or just a few of my new favorite designers!! Also, before just a few weeks ago, David Blaine's new Rose Gold iteration of the Gatorbacks was my all around favorite deck I owned, however that was before I received my black and gold version Parlour playing cards. I just got introduced to your channel over the last few months and you have become my go to channel for deck reviews, but you have also designed my new FAVORITE deck of all time!! I can't tell you how much I absolutely love this deck man. Everything about it is just spot on and pure perfection. Anyways like always, this was a great video and I can't wait to see all that 2020 has to offer. Good luck to all in there give away! Sincerely, Ryan Bell
No doubt at all, each of the featured decks are beautiful; thank you for sharing your picks. Very excited to see your collaboration deck with Lotrek as well! Lotrek is easily in my top three favorite playing card artists, although surprisingly enough I haven't seen The Entertainer before. I'll definitely have to shop around and see if I can pick one of those up. Thirdway Industries being another favorite, easily catching my eye the first time I saw a set of the decks. The unique court card designs truly cause the decks to stand out to me apart from the rest. Really neat to see the Monoliths featured in the video alongside the Lotrek ones. Not to mention the NPCCD 2019 decks which I was introduced to from your video featuring them. Never seen that concept before for the case or the cards. I'm very impressed that someone was able to think of such an idea.
Been collecting Playing Cards for a number of years and a Kickstarter enthusiast for the past three. You have introduced me to The Gentleman Wake and I have to make up for lost time. I have subscribed and now got to get back to your channel and reviews.
I came across your channel a few days ago and it's introduced me to the world of luxury playing card decks and cardistry, thank you! I really like the Luminosity court cards, I've never seen that double-image technique used before but it sure brings the characters to life.
I actually started watching your videos and collecting playing cards at the end of 2019. My first deck purchase was the blue wheels deck. Now I have 16 decks and it’s growing fast. My favorite deck is the little deck of horrors. It was a free deck with one of my orders but once I had them I loved them. I watched your video after I ordered and loved the humor your wife brought to the channel. My wife calls this deck the boo deck lol Thank you for showing me so many classy decks!
One designer who you introduced to me that I absolutely LOVE is Lotrek. I love his artwork and designs, which are so creative. His decks are truly works of art, and they have given me lots of inspiration when it comes to designing a deck myself. In fact, the Chronos deck is one of my favorite decks I have seen in a very long time.
I've heard of maybe half the decks on the list, but all of them looked amazing! The Order deck is one I hadn't heard of and is definitely one I'll be looking into getting. Love the style and colors! Thanks for the video. As always, very informative and inspiring!
I've been doing card magic for a little over 4 years now, but really haven't branched far out into card collecting and custom decks until recently. You showed me 10 great new decks and a host of designers I was previously unfamiliar with. I'm looking forward too diving deeper into the world of card collecting.
I freaking love your videos. I am an amateur card collector but I think for me it's your designer of the year that you introduced me to that I can't get enough of. Lotrek just does such amazing work and I've been a fan ever since the first time I heard of him on your channel! Looking forward to the next kickstarter campaign :)
You have sparked my interest in the world of cards and how beautiful and interesting they can be, so i guess you have introduced me to the whole world of my playing cards, thank you for that. I have also started a collection of decks as well but probably not as big as yours.
Honestly, I started watching your videos after you uploaded the review Sherlock Holmes deck and after that I have been following you on all your social media platforms trying to learn a lot about Card Stock and finish improving my own Deck collection with 12 beautiful decks that I never knew that they were in the market. Thanks a lot to your videos and your knowledge that I was able to improve my knowledge about decks.
Great video!! You introduced me top Steve Minty and the Ascension series. Thank you for that! I've backed these new Ascension v2 kick starter and can't wait for those tuck cases! Keep up the great work Wake!
I've recently discovered this channel and every deck you show is a deck I descover. I like more simple and minimalistic decks but your tops and reviews are changing mi mind!
I am from Greece and I didn't know playing cards were printed or even designed here so you have introduced me to Chronos playing cards and I think they are super cool!! Thank you for putting forward such exceptional playing cards keep up the good work!
I knew most of these but you introduced me to the pagan deck and I NEED to get my hands on a royal mischief deck as well. Great list and I can't wait to back your next campaign!
Amazing gathering of decks! You definitely opened my eyes to Patrick Valenza. Wish I would have known about that deck. Not often you see a transformation deck! Thanks TGW
I have loved cards since i was a little kid but you have shown me some amazing decks that i never knew existed so thanks! My peronal favourite has to be the Monolith deck, i love the design. The review was fantastic and im glad i found your videos.
Thanks for the great video. I just started collecting cards a couple months ago so you introduced a number of decks to me in this video, most notably the De Novas and the Standards. Thank you again and keep up the great work!
I’m a new collector and you have introduced me to a whole new world. I’ve only been paying attention to mass produced decks, so everything you presented here besides the Standards is new to me. Thank you for the elegant content of fascinating new decks. Hopefully I can add those 6 to my collection :)
Before I started watching you I never really thought about collecting decks but you’ve really got me into it. You’ve introduced me to many decks but the favourite one is the 2019 national playing card collection day decks. I absolutely love them!
I hadn't the slightest idea there were so many decks available. But now have a long wishlist due to your reviews and frankly the amount of love and passion into the design you've shown. Chronos Deck is possibly my favorite that you've introduced, but not the only on my list that you had reviewed.
The first day I began watching your videos I instantly became a fan of Jackson Robinson’s work. I immediately subscribed to his service and can not wait to receive more of his decks!
Once again, you did a great job with a beautifully shot video. I have not seen 'The Entertainer' deck so far and i get why it made the first place. The two different gold tones on the back really make it for me.
I must say the deck selection is superb, I like it a lot. Being a collector myself, all of the decks in the list have been known to me before. Thanks for another excellent video, hopefully you'll have more time this year to produce more :)
Loved this video, I picked all but two of your top 10 for mu personal collection. Thank you for the great video and break down. As a collector, I rarely open my decks, so this was a treat!
The designer you've introduced me to came in this video was Gio! I like the look of those Order decks and may need to grab myself a set! Thanks for the great content as always Gentleman!
I'm new in the world of unique playing cards. I was looking around on RUclips to learn more about cards and found your account. You've learned me a lot already and all the cards you mentioned were new to me, I loved the cards with Nordic influence. You sparked my interest to learn and collect more special decks of cards. I'm probably to late fore the giveaway but I'm definitely subscribing!!
You introduced me to the Ascension by Steve Minty! I am really blown away by the design of the tuck case on the signature edition! Even my friends were blown away by the stunning tuck cases, as well as the custom designs of all the cards when I told them about it!
I’m so glad you introduced me to lotrek! I had no idea there were such beautiful cards out there. Also, a little side note, I finally found a black parlour deck and I’m sooooo stoked to have it come in, fantastic job!
You introduced me to provision playing cards, it was the first video that I watched on your channel. I obviously knew theory 11 but just hadn't seen the provisions and I really like them!
Got introduced to Jackson Robinson and the Kings Wild Project ever since your video about the Tally-Ho Show a year ago. The decks you've shown in this video are absolutely stunning, and with shame, I have to admit that I own absolutely NONE of those decks. I've said this long ago in the past, and I'll repeat it again; this channel is one of the most underrated on this whole platform, and you definitely deserve a million times more subscribers than your current count. Best of luck to everyone, and may Lady Luck bless all.
I've been a collector of playing cards for over a decade. So glad we have such passionate card enthusiasts like TheGentlemanWake in the community inspiring diversity of collecting and appreciating of playing card art. Never heard of your No. 2 choice, and will for sure be checking them out! Looking forward to your next collab! Cheers!
You introduced me to Steve Minty. Those box designs are a work of art. The actual deck design is amazing as well. I looked into his other sets of playing cards and everything he has put out is just as ornate and thought out. Gonna keep an eye out on his future releases.
You've introduced me to Rick Davidson. I've heard of these annual decks but haven't researched them too much. This iteration looks great and will be looking for his future offerings. Great vid!
I only found your channel late last year. One of the decks you introduced me to were the Butterfly playing cards. Best of luck with al, of your ventures this year and onwards Mr. Wake.
You introduced me to the NOC 3000X1's, and it's my favourite NOC to date! Your reviews are so professional, and it's obvious that you put a lot of work into them!
You introduced me to my favourite deck of playing cards, The Dead Man's Deck. I love the deck and I love the story behind it. As it was the beginning of this channel, I think it was the fourth video posted on it, I have been watching since I saw that video and I still don't know why this channel is not the biggest channel for reviewing playing cards. But in my heart it is the best. Thank you for introducing me to that deck and to the magic of collecting playing cards!
What’s up GW! Great to see you back! I was so happy to be introduced to the Uusi decks from this video. Beautiful work which is right up my alley. Thank for all you do!
I’m glad you introduced me to the NPCCD 2019 deck because I am from Morocco and to see such a beautiful deck of playing cards representing my country just makes me happy. Keep up the great videos
The black monolith got me into collecting cards. I only have 2 decks right now so I'm very new at this but I love Cardistry and love your in depth analysis of cards. Thank you for introducing me to do many amazing decks.
I had never seen or heard of UUSI I and think your right about that deck in this video is one I'm really looking to get my hands on now. Keep up the great work. Love what you do.
You introduced me to Jackson Robinson with his Kings wild back to school playing cards! I love the old school style of it, and having a daughter myself I love how he involved his family that way!!!
Wow this video was amazing. I was really into cards in 2019, but this year I wasn't so interested in it anymore. I used to watch your channel in 2019, but this video made me come back to the card producing world. I didnt really know any of these designer, but would be amazingly happy to get these decks
I’m new to Cardistry and practicing in general. Lotrek’s decks have been an awesome discovery for on this channel. Looking forward to participating in your next Kickstarter collaboration with him!!
I would say the decks of kwp are those you’ve introduced me to. You raved about the wild tigers and I agreed. And became rabid about getting one. Then de Nuevo and another must have. I thought about it before, and you’ve got me excited about many that I added to my collection. Thanks and I wouldn’t mind adding more of your picks.
TGW you have introduced me to so many decks. One that I would not have looked at otherwise would be the Royal Mischief deck. I love the deck now and it sits in my collection!
Didn't know about the chronos deck, those were cool! Also i had seen the ascension boxes but not the cards. Wow those are beautiful I really want to get those hightech metal boxes now!
Thanks for another great year Mr. Wake! I'd never really looked into Jody Eklund's decks before seeing Luminosity, and have since come to think they are pretty cool! Looking forward to when his Sovereign decks come out. Perhaps we'll see a review on them in the future? :) Keep up the great work. Here's to 2020! PS. Excited about Lotrek's involvement with your next deck!
Honestly, this channel has been one of my favorites of 2019. Whenever I was curious about buying a new deck, you were the go to channel to see if it was quality. Thanks for all you do, and have a happy 2020!
Before I started watching your channel, I thought the pinnacle of luxury cards was theory11. But now I've realized how much more you can do with tuck cards and playing cards and just how beautiful they can really be. Lotrek and Kings wild projects are probably the 2 more influential designers you're introduced me too, I love how much detail and new technology they incorporate into their decks while maintaining a high standard of handling in most cases
Haven't been on youtube and the internet for a long time already, turns out I was missing a lot. Yeah, I legit didn't know all those decks existed and they are all so damn beautiful, thanks for introducing 'em to me.
Seeing the Derren Brown decks in one of your videos made me instantly stop what I was doing and order two decks. It's straight to the top of my list as one of my personal favorite decks of all time, and I wish it'd been included in your top ten!
All of the decks I see on your channel are new to me, they all look so good and I love the way you review them. Keep up the great work!
The Gentleman rocks!!! I am a 68 yr old Grandma, lifelong canasta player and never new there was so much to learn about playing cards until I discovered The Gentleman Wake channel! Fantastic video, fabulous content, wonderful Gentleman & Wife too!!

I disappeared from the cardistry community for a couple of months due to schooling and lost touch on the latest decks and looking to throw myself back into the gist of things and I am absolutely blown away by Steve Minty and the signature Ascension deck. I would have never fathomed the 3D look and how intricate it is.
Bonkers.
Cannot wait to get back into the community, another fantastic video!

Steve minty has a Ascension V2 on kickstarter right now which features 2 dragon decks with 3D heads on the tucks.
@@merissatorres9544 i just saw it and the other dragon imitates an ice like sculpture. ♥ These tucks are museum pieces

Mr. Wake you introduced me to Lotrek, Thirdway Industries, and Uusi this year, and I am blown away by their creativity. So gorgeous. Thank you!

Wow this video was amazing. I was really into cards in 2019, but this year I wasn't so interested in it anymore. I used to watch your channel in 2019, but this video made me come back to the card producing world. I didnt really know any of these designer, but would be amazingly happy to get these decks

I've seen Uusi's work before but never the Pagan deck, definitely an overdue introduction, so thank you!
The luminosity cards are amazing! I just subscribed to this channel and already watched several videos! Please keep it going!
Honestly, this channel has been one of my favorites of 2019. Whenever I was curious about buying a new deck, you were the go to channel to see if it was quality. Thanks for all you do, and have a happy 2020!
Uusi's Pagan deck has really beautiful artwork all over it and I saw it first in your channel. Thank you!
You introduced me to virtually all of these decks I don't usually get into these fancy decks but your videos make me want to
You've introduced me to Lotrek. Such beautiful and original custom deck designs. The artistry is top class.

Seeing the Derren Brown decks in one of your videos made me instantly stop what I was doing and order two decks. It's straight to the top of my list as one of my personal favorite decks of all time, and I wish it'd been included in your top ten!
