It's funny. Almost three years after you posted this, I started watching a bunch of your videos and decided to buy myself a nice deck. I ran across a deck of Theory11 Monarchs in blue and had to have them just for the tuck case. When I realized how nice the cards are, I wondered if you had ever done a review on them and here I am. I have to say, I feel even better about my purchase.

Great video, especially going into the detail of the cards. I've not used any of these but off the back of your previous review am trying to find some of David's Lions - I like how they bring an artistic nature to the deck, something more than just a deck of cards so probably my favourite from this list.
White Lions are my 2nd favorite deck. I can’t explain why, but I love Shin Lim’s Regalia deck. Especially the white and gold version. It just feels so regal and luxurious. You just feel fancy having the deck. Plus it has one of the most neat ideas for a tuck case that I’ve seen.
Can you do more playing card videos in the future? Btw copped those red joints... not gonna lie one of the best decks I can remember in recent history. Great vid dude.
Hey Chris, thanks for the video. I am a writer and if I ever getting around to write something along the lines that deal with playing cards, well I'm grateful for your channel cause you are so passionate and go into detail with your love of playing cards. I wish I could afford these cards, they're so beautiful.

I work at an elementary and I’m teaching my kids how to shuffle and play games with cards but they have been wanting to learn how to fancy their shuffling and what not and your vids have helped :) specially this one because at the end of the year I’m buying them some fancy cards.... maybe some white or black lions ... all Depends 😜

When I saw the monarch deck was in your top five I smiled. I love my monarch deck. I don't use them that often though because like you said in the video it feels almost like a sin when using them.

Great review. I have a few Cherry Casino decks. And a few of your Ellusionist Decks-- In Gold and in Red. Also-- whenever I can find Monarchs on sale I buy a deck-- so now I have around 12-15 Monarch decks in different colors. Love your videos-- Could literally watch deck reviews and your reactions to other people's cardistry all day long. Amazing content.
I love Monarchs. They handle really well and the artwork on the backs is great. When I buy them 8 almost always go for the red Monarchs just because it's my favorite color and they picked a great shade of red.

I recently got back into playing cards. This is the first vid I clicked on reviewing cards and was blown away. I have always been into cards ever since I was a kid. As a kid I would mow grass to get a new deck at the local country store. I always had this cool dark feeling as if I was a gangster or old west card shark lol. Great vid! Thanks

how do you determine when a deck is done and then grab another? ive been toying with a standard bicycle deck for a few days and beating them up pretty good but to me they seem just fine. but i understand that you may think theyre toasted by now
I know this is late, but I thought I would let you know just in case you haven’t found out yet. (By the way, this is all just my opinion based on doin card tricks for several years) For me there is a window of time between when the deck is brand new and crisp and when the deck is too worn to be any good for most tricks. A lot of tricks take advantage of a crisp new deck of cards, and after you get to a certain point the cards are really weak and flimsy. Another way that cards can be done for is if they get stained or deformed. I use cards a very large amount of the time, so I tend to need a new deck every couple of months for various reasons. Certain decks can also become unideal because they get used to the point where they don’t interact well with other cards in the deck.
Personally if my decks start clumping then I'll just pop them back in the tuck case and leave them in a cold room for a few months and that usually gets them back to how they were, as for bends a card press might be a good investment.

@@danielchemaly1639 There isn’t really a set path to follow, but there is a kind of loose path that I like to take. I like to open up with a trick that I am fairly confident with, then go into a few other tricks that might be a little flashier or that I might not be so confident with so I can gauge reactions and get practice with them. Once I am ready to finish, I try to end it with one of my best tricks. If you need to learn any tricks or maybe how to feel more comfortable in social situations, I recommend the RUclips channels Scam Nation and SankeyMagic. Scam Nation helped me when I was starting to get into magic (although it was called Scam School when I first started), and I still go back to both of those channels to learn new tricks or for ideas on different ways to do the same tricks. As you get more experienced with card tricks, you will start to develop kind of your own flow with it. I hope this was helpful and that you have a good day.

I knew about collecting card decks and it’s a hobby I have always been interested in.
But watching your channel has moved me to actually participate in collecting. I already collect folding knives and(in a small, cost effective way)watches.
Cards,there design and quality is going to be my next step.

My favorite decks that I currently own are the Keepers (Red) and the Red Autumns (Bicycle Deck) I love the green autumns as well.

I’ve had the Blue Monarchs for a while now and they are AMAZING. Though, my oldest Blue Monarch deck is literally covered in some black goo?? Anyway, the monarchs in general just have a good feel to them. Definitely recommend.

Dear chris, ive been wtching your videos for a while now and i keep practicing on my tricks but i have this old deck of cards, since my mom sperated from my dad she doesn't have much money and she's still waiting for her unemployement benefit, we live with our grandma now and i started doind magic since i found this old deck of card so i started watching your vids and learned a lot, i do my magic on the streets and people really love it but since i live in this city where they dont sell anny card i need to order them and i dont have ghe money for the shipping costs so i keep using this deck of cards that are really worn out.
