  • I took my 400ex out for a rip! This was my first time filming myself while riding so I can only get better from here. I'm still adjusting my GoPro settings so I'm sorry for the bad lighting. I hope everyone had a good summer. Please subscribe, like, comment, and most importantly, have yourself a great day!

Hey, its actually done now. Ive been riding it a bit but when the trails get a little better (they are really wet right now) I'll do a build overview and ride it a bit on camera. I would have filmed the whole project but I found some bad problems that would have taken way longer to fix and film at the same time. Thanks for the comment

I’m kinda shying away from the 400ex because of it being air cooled, I live in the desert and might be moving to Florida is it really that bad with it being air cooled

If you are going to be riding in hot temperatures there are several mods you can do to keep it running cool. Air scoops, a bigger oil reservoir, a bigger oil cooler, and running heavier weight oil should all help keep from overheating. You could do all of that, or get a different bike that is water-cooled and avoid all of the mods. Its a great bike and has a solid, and easy to work on engine. Parts are easy to find. However, if you are going to be doing any dune riding, you will probably want more performance than the 400ex can reliably offer. Hope this helps. Feel free to send me an email or leave another comment if you want some more info on the 400ex.

ProjectDirtbikes yeah I live in Arizona (low desert) so it’s hot af I have my eyes on a kfx400 with a radiator so I’ll probably go with that. Thanks for replying it made my decision a lot easier.

They're designed to run hot. Just make sure it's jetted correctly and run a good quality synthetic oil in it, it'll be fine. I've ran mine hard on 100 degree days and never overheated once.

O4 i got same bike shop kept, big bore still has the warning labels jet black original seat, no fading. I ride the fuck out of it. They are like riding on clouds after landing a jump. Sick indestructible bike.
