When I did this install, I pryed off the silver trim piece first, then used a sightly curved thin flat head and worked like a charm
I just did my replacement and I hooked the button near the ending E of engine. Just like Barry did. Didn’t have to open the dash up.
Nice Edward. Yeah I was looking for the sweet spot but nope.
Love all this guys videos my rc f is amazing love the exhaust impression I do it to cause it’s a mechanical beast
Best one I found came with the right tool
Thank you dude!!! I have been trying to figure out how to remove the start button on a Lexus this like the only video that shows that!
There are better methods than just removing the whole thing. If you can, just remove the ring then pull button off
@@thehuangbros I needed to replace the whole start button it was going bad! Thanks for your video now I know how to do it without breaking stuff!
@@mandybaker8544 well then, if you needed to replace the whole button assembly then this is the perfect video for you. 😀
@@thehuangbros Thanks your video has been very helpful keep making great videos these have helped my nerves on working on Lexus cars!
Looks good.
Thanks Alex.
You need a pick tool with a screw driver handle.
Thanks for the tutorial on this. Now I know how to change this.
Looks great
Thanks!
@@thehuangbros no problem
@@TheLexusIS250Dude were you going to do more with your channel? I remember you mentioned you were going to do a lexus auto channel.
@@thehuangbros I have some videos of my Lexus on my channel
Question on those volume knobs actually, I know they are from saga carbon from taiwan, question about how you installed them, I just got mine in and installed but I ended up pushing the new knobs all the way in and now they are stuck on the small knobs underneath and not coming off, how did you install them properly, I probably should have looked at the instructions more carefully than just skimming over haha
I got this for my birthday from my wife who watched this video with me. Wish me luck! 👍🏻
Try removing the ring first then use the metal thing to remove button
@@thehuangbros Barry, thanks for the tips and gave a shout out to you and the button on Club Lexus. I’m glad my install was much easier than yours was. Thanks for all the RCF content.

@@icebear8637 I appreciate the shout out.
Where did she find it? I want one for my rc f
I had to remove the silver bezel (it just pulls off) and pry with a small flathead. The pressure to get it out with the flathead tells me that there was no way I would have gotten it out with the tool provoded.
There's no need to unscrew the subassembly. The clips can be pinched and the bottom will slide out of the front with the subassembly still screwed in. That said, you don't need to pull the hood out that far if you don't need to unscrew anything.
So this job can be simpler than showed.
Youre right. It doesnt. For me, I just did it because the provided tool didnt work as great for me.
@@thehuangbros I didn't just replace the cap, I installed a whole new button. To do that, I still removed the cluster hood, but the pinch tabs at 6:00 can be pinched without unscrewing anything (5:25). Not a big deal. your video was still useful for me and I appreciate it. Just a tip for next time or for others, that they can skip the unscrewing step you detail at 5:25 and just skip to 6:00.
Awesome vids. Keep it up don’t die on me lol
Hahaha have I lied yet publicly on RUclips hahaha 😂
It fit isf?
Thanks for the heads up on this part. Very unique! Just got mine in and I noticed that it has a rubber/plastic spacer on the inside of the button which allows it to sit higher once installed. No clicking metal sound when pressed either. Wonder if they updated the design or something? Also installation literally took me 3 minutes doing this; Just pop the silver trim surround off carefully with a very tiny flathead screwdriver, then using the same screwdriver pry very carefully along the edge of the button to give you a tiny bit of slack (be careful not to put too much pressure, the plastic is very brittle), then use a small pick tool that has a hook shape to it and just angle it so it catches the edge of the button and give it a good tug - It pops right off. The tool they send is absolutely useless in my opinion.
If I was to do it again, I would use the useless tool tool to pop off circle trim then pop off button.
From your experience, should the first upgrade be LCA bushings?
Yes. Absolutely. Saves inner tire, better more direct steering, no braking nose dive, and responsive steering input.
How did you install the radio buttons and round knob for sports mode? Do they just pop off
The dynamic sports control knob is just a cover. The radio ones are pull off and replaced
Nice vids - keep up the great content! Questions: Where did you order the new radio/mode button set from? I found it on ebay for $55 (US) + shipping. Also, do they just go over the existing knobs or do you need to remove them ? Lastly, did your RCF have the "light gray" metal radio knobs from the ML system? (sorry for the questions, I have an IS350 and want to ensure fitment). Thanks in advance!
Can you up load a link to the radio knobs, I would like to do the same.
Thanks for the kind words. No problem, ask away. Ebay for the knobs. You simply pull off the old ones or allen key and then put new ones on. I had ML flat light grey ones. The knobs you see on ebay are interchangeable with these new generation Lexus.
@@thehuangbros thanks for the reply. I was wondering if I can just pull the ML ones off. Also, I’m adding the Ergotouch pad to my android screen because of you too. Lol. Thanks! 😬
Barry, your videos are Excellent as usual. Question, have you or do have a video for people who wants to take their RC-F to the track for the 1st time? Mainly for beginners, best track, where to start, instructors, ect?
I am by no means an expert but I can make a video of that when I go to the Nurburgring. I can suggest things for beginner/entry level.
Thanks!
I remember when Barry and I went to the track for the first time. We got some good pictures
@@rubeninocencio4083 was fun times
What about the 2020 rcf metal start button?
Ohh I don’t know anything about the new interiors.
Checked website but it’s sold out :(
11:21 Where did you get the radio knobs from?
Hope this helps!

New game take a drink every time he say " pretty cool"
🤣
small suction cup removed it in seconds from my CT200h
My Rcf buttons were also too tight and didn't come off easily. The tools given by the Bonobo were brittle, weak, and useless. Rather, I was worried about breaking the buttons or other sysems related to start button. So, I researched other videos and found out myself the way to remove the button easily. First, remove the button frame. The button frame comes off easily, even with a fingernail. Then the start button protrudes a little so you can hold it with your fingers. Then wrap the button with cloth or microfiber (for protect start button from the scratch), hold the button with pliers (not too tight), and pull it out, then it will come off easily. If you want to change the button, please try this method. It will only take a couple of mins, safe and easy.
Excellent method!
I'd buy it if they made a black/carbon fiber trim for around the button. Not a fan of the silver trim 🤷♂️
I considered blacking it out or something.
Where did u got the button bro?
The button link is in the description of the video.
Over complicated. I just popped out the outer ring and placed in the button. Took less than a minute
You’re smarter than me. I couldn’t get it.
Got that on my ISF, but in blue.
This video informed me that people who can't help but compulsively and nonsensically say "not gonna lie" are still out there. Plz stahp.
What are you the internet troll speech police? Ill be sure to lie next time and tell people how easy this process is and falsify the difficulty level.
It fit isf?
It may, but no one in the ISF community has tried this that I know of. It pops off and you put the new one on. 🤷🏻♂️
Thank
