      @stephenroylance3958 2 года назад +3

      I don't think the world is soft, or people are any more sqeamish or easier to offend than they ever were. It's the advertisers that are trying to sell a perfect clean world with soft edges, and their ads next to the reality of how meat is grown and processed doesn't fit in that. Content from the real world doesn't help them sell their frozen chicken nuggets or shampoo or perfectly clean trucks driving through the desert. It's great that Pete is willing to spend his time and energy to make educational videos that he doesn't make any money on.

      @@stephenroylance3958 I completely agree with you on the 1950’s post war period of prosperity. That period lasted roughly 40 years and we are definitely trending down now. However, most of the current generation has still significantly benefited from parents or grandparents accumulated wealth through that period of prosperity. Much of America is completely separated from life and death, the food chain, and what it really takes to survive. We live “clean” lives completely dependent upon the electrical grid and the “system”. Oh, yes, I remember those big food prep times at the farm. I was no where to be found for the actual harvesting of the stock, but count me in for sausage making! When the whole family pitched in for these projects, it took on a bit of a holiday atmosphere, with my dad telling stories as we worked, and my mom playing polka music on the radio. It was the same for chicken plucking, apple picking and canning, and putting up of garden produce. I was quite the whiz on the paring knife.
    I have a Howard Miller wall clock. It just keeps on ticking, but if it stops I will definitely get it repaired. It's good to know that I can probably find someone to manage that. So it is interesting to say the least. A clock that was on the church wall for that long is a wonder! Just think how many young men looked up at that clock and thought, "In a half hour, I will be a married man..." Or the children who looked at it despairingly, and thought, "Will the pastor EVER be done with his sermon??"

    I can't really think of anything that you could possibly make videos about that I wouldn't want to watch. Because I already watch every single video regardless of content. Clock fixing? BRING IT! Nothing better than homemade hot sausage!!💯❤️

    Great videos as always! I would agree, the clock should have some videos. This is part of your farm life in the winter and the fact that the clock is historic is really neat.

    I find all of your videos interesting. Quite frankly the variety of the subjects is part of their appeal so yes, I would enjoy seeing how an old wall clock is repaired.

    Finding ways to weasel out of paying anyone anything is a point of pride to most corpo-critters. The reason they give is simply window dressing for their naked greed.

    In 2020, when meat got scarce I the grocery stores, my neighbors and I bought 5 pigs from a farmer. We dressed and cut them up on Saturday, made sausage on Sunday. Long hard work for a weekend, but very satisfying to know that we didn't have to rely on a grocery store to produce food. Great video Pete!

    Processing meat grown on your place is simply part of country life, farm life. That Facebook would shut that off is so wrong. If you consider also posting on Rumble we will most certainly follow you there.

    Well back again and watched the video one more time, and still enjoyed it as much as the first time. only thing different about it now, is you no longer have you're pigs! you got out of the pig business. this past year. But I haven't , well eating them anyway. Had my Sausage Patti this morning and two Eggs. (cackleberry's I like to call them!) and my Apple juice. and now enjoying this burning the midnight oil before I hit the hay. so as the two years provide validation, I"l still a devout fan of yours, so thanks for all the pleasure I get from you're videos. God speed and thanks for sharing. the new ones. ECF

    Pete, love your videos, very meaningfull. Just a note on griding meats, my mother would always run a couple pieces of stale bread at the end to get all the meat out of the grinder, and depending on what she was preparing the ground bread would be incorporated into the dish or discarded, but that's how she got the tail ends of the meat out of the grinder.
    Don't be discourged by U-Tube monetyzation, some day people are going to realize the value of filling thier freezers with thier own butchered meat.
    Aloha.........

    As an old clockmaker myself I use to LOVE it when a clock came in that was time only and no strike. Far far easier to work on. Alas, there were not a lot of those.

    I'd love to see the clock being repaired. There's a special place in my heart for such vintage pieces, especially with a story that goes with it.

    Thumbnail of this video makes me right away think of one Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Newman were making sausages at Jerry's kitchen. Complete with the music.

    The ones that demonitized the video probably think that the only way you can get sausage is at the store, they have no clue how things are done in real life. I can remember going to my grandmother's every Thanksgiving to get the next year's meat. It was one time outside of family reunion that almost all of the family would be together. Those were some of the best times that I remember growing up.

    Pete, LEM makes a foot switch that you can use to stuff bags, casings, etc. works well and not to expensive! Don't want to take Hillary's job away with the switch! You are living my non- fulfilled life. Lol Keep it coming!

    today’s video as always was interesting 🤨…. I want to thank you for being open about the “”RUclips monitoring “ (you are very gracious and thoughtful with your words.). It shows me of the blatant attempt to continue to control. Your character and integrity to continue teaching basic survival, is much important and we need to be knowledgeable about honorable life skills. I LOVE YOUR SMILE HILLARY ❤️………so glad for you both to be done with the hard part of the harvest. HEY, since it’s winter maybe another silly video would be fun for you two to think about. Yes 👍 on more Tractor overhaul…coming from a old lady 👵 😊
