Really looks real! I noticed the MU cables on the Units were there, and hooked up! Also, the cab generator belt looks real, I was amazed at this layout.
+Richard Haight Thank you! We were trying to go for as realistic a look as possible, knowing the sound would be the clue about these being models. Our host for the video was the South Bay Historical Railroad Society (SBHRS) HO scale railroad layout. They have done a great job with the scenery.
very nice scenery, I love it. Personally what I would have done is put 4 to 6 locomotives together and made one really long freight train with between 40 and 60 cars.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else needs to find out about train set ho scale try Corbandy HO Scale Crusher ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.
This could very well been and all time favorite. It is superlative in realism. Some folks run too fast for prototype and it looks silly. Yours was excruciatingly too slow. Still a magnificent job thanks.
+tsgmultimedia at 7:11 what units are those still getting my trains down for later on in my life if u can get back to me that would be great. amazing vid btw
+FiveFlounder02 The gray ConRail unit was built in our Weathering & Detailing Locomotives program (HO Weathering & Detailing Vol 4) tsgmultimedia.com/product/ho-weathering-detailing-volume-4-digital-download/
+tsgmultimedia ok thx for the info and that link ill check it out and I do o scale btw I have a lionel track speeder, santa fe a steam engine bnsf maxi stack set and the most wonder full thing I have ever owned the full set of the 75th anniversary set still in the box and it works made sure it moved has all the cars and the engine but that being said love to see what's next on the channel. I'm a beginner with o scale.
Are those your modified diesel units or did you buy them? They are awesome and I am envious. I wish I could find a set like you have here. I really go for that cabless power unit. That is neat. I do have one question and that is where did you find that BN caboose. I would love to have one of those. I use to work for the Great Northern way back in 1966 and rode in those wide vision cabooses a lot. They are so cool.

Took me a while to figure out this is the SBHRS still very nice angles and lighting. I operated on the layout for a couple years. Where is that one scene with the SP and DRGW?
I clicked on this video because of the weathering aspect listed in the description. I like the added detailing and mods to the engines, however, the weathering is off the mark. I can understand the reluctance to dirty up a freshly painted model but if you're going for realism (which it states you are) they need more refinement in that area. I not stating that all models need to be thrashed and look like they've been neglected for years in hard service but even mild weathering is more than painting wheelfaces and applying a bit of "dust". I believe the issues are mainly not using any brushes to apply grime and dirt in a controlled manner and not using prototype photos of the specific engines modeled. As an example, even on new trucks the trucks have fresh, glossy paint with a layer of dust on the top of the surfaces. This can only be achieved with a brush and patience not an airbrush or powders. Now, I'm not hatin or trollin, just wanting to see you guys go to the next level because your work otherwise is really nice. Just as you have stated in other videos that you need variety so they are not all used and abused, that goes the other way as well...they can't all have the same dusty look. You do need some with more rusting, paint chipping and faded paint to run beside those fresh out of the paint shops. Keep up the great work/videos and kick up the weathering a notch! :)
+John Bellucci It's a small sampling of Dan's collection. You can watch him weather and detail all 8 of the locos in this video on our Weathering & Detailing DVDs (volume 3 and volume 4).

Espee!!!👍👍👍😎 The weathering on the freightcars!! O my😎👍 Great run bys!! Prototypical speeds👍👍😁😁
Glad you enjoyed it!
4 years ago I was stunned by DCC. Now it’s normal since all my trains are DCC and sound.
Thee finest collection of run bys ever. Those BN units and caboose are over the top.
Thanks yru! I took a lot of time lighting and getting the audio captured for this one. :)
Very nice weathering to the trIns and tunnel
Watched from Yosemite Kentucky. Fabulous!
Great to see realistic running trains. Gradual acceleration and slow movement.
Excellent layout. Simply splendid! And a nice track speed too. Nice and slow.
Great to see rolling stock as well as locos running past.
The California Zephyr was beautiful.
Really looks real! I noticed the MU cables on the Units were there, and hooked up! Also, the cab generator belt looks real, I was amazed at this layout.

I commend you on the realistic weathering of the locomotives and freight cars which sets this video apart from others.
Awesome layouts, I have HO scale trains too, but I am only starting.

Branch line tunnel just above the mainline tunnel as you enter the layout room from the museum room.
GREAT MOVIE!
Thanks!
I'm a member here and you guys have found spots on the layout i didn't know where there.
+Nick Lorusso Thank you for watching! Now you have something to do next time you are at the club. It's like "Where is Waldo" for model trains. :D
When are you guys planning an other video session there?
+Nick Lorusso We do not have any specific plans at this moment. It will depend on the event coordinator's availability.

Thanks for watching!
Why is it that not many people model Chessie System? Everyone does the big 6, CSX, UP, Santa Fe, BNSF, SP, N&W or NS?
Beautiful setup, I imagine it cost more than my car
Cool
great lighting and closeups, how do you do the lighting and what camera do you use?
This must have been taken fairly recently? We've only had the Sinclair sign at the club now for about 6 to 7 months.
April 2014. Good call!

The models are a bunch of different brands. You can find out about there here: tsgmultimedia.com/product-category/digital-downloads/

Can someone explain how to run 2 dcc engines like shown at the beginning with the Burlington Northern engines how they are back to back and running simultaneously with one another
Those are in "consist" mode. I'm sure you can look it up and figure out how to do it on your own DCC system. Thanks for watching!
Could you please explain it. I have a Bachmann Dynamis system and would like to know how to make the trains be this realistic.
The Southern Pacific Engines are as dirty as their full-sized counterparts, haha....
what is the brand called
+Steve Zhang Brand of what?
I was believing that it real full scale until I heard some of the horns. Otherwise nice looking layout.
The SBHRS has a very nice layout!
I meant to say engine
Sure, chop up the nose of the Espee units but not the D&RGW or Cotton Belt units!
