    Nice layout. It would be nice to see some overhead shots of the complete railroad from the deck or a drone

    Simply beautiful work/layout, what an inspiration. I'm starting construction on my GR soon and will use your block wall elevation concept. Not to mention so many other features that provide endless motivation for a new builder.

      Thank you for viewing and your kind comments. This is the first build for this owner and he made sure he got it correct. I also used this type of build on my "deltatrains" layout. Make sure everything is settled down before laying the tracks and use lots of crusher dust gravel for the roadbed.
      All the best, Peter.

      Thank you Graham. The builder is one of the best in the hobby. Each piece board by board and nicely painted or oil stained. Thanks for the comment. Peter.

    Very Amazing but i'have a question :How do you do when thé wearther IS raining?

    • @deltatrains
      @deltatrains  5 месяцев назад

      Most open houses are prepared with some type of cover in case of rain, or the visitors wait in their cars until the rain stops. Sometimes the event has to be cancelled if the weather is very bad. Thanks for watching.

      deltatrains where is this layout can I visit or get plans of the foundation walls and or tracks

    • @deltatrains
      @deltatrains  7 лет назад

      Hi. Thanks for your interest in this layout. It is built on flat property, no grades; and the soil is held back with 3 degree set-back jumbo Allan Block, built to four high,
      ( www.allanblock.com/products/products.aspx ).
      There is a deep layer of gravel fines under the track for drainage and track ballasting. The track is set up for track power ( DCC ) but is excellent for live steam and battery powered trains. The track plan is a very simple bent dogbone pattern with one end curved into itself. There is about four foot wide walkway space all around for easy access even for wheelchairs. As can be seen in the video, there is a lift bridge which connects the main layout to the inside of the basement of the house so that trains can be set up inside on a siding and engines can also be prepared in there. Unfortunately, it is quite remote for visitations.

    The diesel/electric loco and cars at the beginning...is that considered one gauge? I.e. 1:32 scale?

    • @deltatrains
      @deltatrains  4 года назад +1

      The diesels were made in 1: 29 scale by two companies called Aristocraft and USA TRAINS. They ran on gauge one tracks and usually pulled 1:29 scale rolling stock. Unfortunately, since there is only one track for use in these scales, it
      scales out to be 10 percent too big for true standard gauge ( 1:32 ) but still looks close enough out in the garden at
      the viewing point. Later in this video you can also see 1:20.3 scale engines and rolling stock on the same track and that represents true 3 foot narrow gauge on those tracks. Thanks for watching. I do have a more recent video of this layout. ruclips.net/video/j0AZxitxFN4/видео.html ENJOY.

    Where is the place to get figures

    • @deltatrains
      @deltatrains  4 года назад

      Thank you for watching and enjoying the video and figures. There are many companies which make 1/24 scale figures and this layout uses figures from many different sources to match the scene they are placed into.
      LGB, and Bachmann make figures for these trains and if you put " 1/24 scale figures" into your search line on
      your computer, many company names will then be shown to you and how to order them.

      Let's just call it "flange squeal" against the steel rail and think of it as almost a real train. Thanks for watching.

    is it g-guage or g-scale?

    • @deltatrains
      @deltatrains  7 лет назад

      Hi. gauge is the distance between the tracks. In our case it is 45 mm or 1 3/4 inches. The term G-Scale comes from the fact that LGB made this gauge popular and they called it the Garden Trains. G from garden hence g-scale.
      However, scale actually represents the size of the rolling stock which one places on the g-gauge track which, in our case here, remains constant at 45 mm or 1 3/4 inches. Hope this helps, All the best, Peter.
