I was a parapro for autistic children. Loved working with them. My one buddy Forest was almost non-verbal I worked one on one with him and he was so smart, he was a second grader and taught himself how to cursive. His mother and teachers told me since I’ve been working with him he was talking a lot more. His peers would ask me ?’s instead of asking him and I would tell them I don’t know ask Forest he’s standing right here. And I would tell Forest to answer them, so stinking cute when he would answer them and they would get excited. He would write stories and staple the paper together. I had him draw pictures to go with it. I asked his teacher after he completed his story if he could sit in her chair and read to them. I first had Forest go into an empty class room with me and we would pretend there were students and I had him practice. Then it was time for him to read his book, they all sat on the floor as he read. It was the most awesome thing. I miss him so much this was 3 yrs. ago.

I have never really paid much attention to the Catholic Church or it’s leaders in the past but there is something about Pope Francis that is hard to ignore. He is so kind and gentle.
Raquel - with Autism - sure has been a fountain of God's Grace living with her. She stood up one day, to receive Holy Communion. That was God coming to the centre of her live. Cryed alot on her Confirmation, untill later she surprised us all happy acknowledging her day , only had a hard moment to communicate W. C. She loves going to Mass - above all her Community at St. Sebastian in Toronto Diocese love her. Just one of these days, she saw the Blessed Holy Host Exposion for adoration and wanted to stay in this site. Yes Holy Father - so true- God our Lord loves them so much that gives us messages throughout them. I wish we could meet in Toronto with Your Dear Eminence Holy Father .

My wife and I work with adults with intellectual disabilities. They have many things to teach us, like loyalty in friendship, the importance of friendship over things, being grateful for the simple things in life and much more. There is a reason why they exist in the world and we need them in our lives. We all have disabilities of one kind or another. It is better to be autistic than to be a proud and arrogant person.
