  • Are you scared to dive for balls because you expect it to hurt?
    In this video, I give you a simple tip that lots of young players forget about and that by itself, will make you way more comfortable diving and going to the ground.

    I tried xD I have burns all over my body now xD
    I tired to repeat “ignore the pain, endure the pain”, which did help. But then I realized you said it was supposed to be painless, so I hesitated even more

    I think the softwer version of the dive however costs him speed. In bringing his knee down like that he is just a little bit slower to the floor, which defeats the purpouse of a dive. I agree however that diving from that far up off the ground is also bad. I think the path to the correct diving form is if instead of bringing his knee down after his step, he simply pivots and pushes off his toes while stretching completely parallel to the ground. He will be faster more explosive have a bigger range, and also be diving even lower from the ground than if he just bends his knee. Just my opinion tho :D

      MwueLaFlaga Point taken! The important point here is to lower your centre of gravity. If you don't do so, you are in for big bruises. What you are describing seems to me like the exact same dive but with the player lifting the knees higher after the dive. I think it is a safe way to dive as well.

    Today it was raining so me and my mate started to play volleyball passes in the hall at school. So I had an idea, why don’t we try diving. I ended up going home at the end of the day with sore knees and elbows. I’m wanting to be a Libero so I’ve been trying my best but this helps a lot!

    Thx, this really helped a lot. I always dive, but it always hurt so much because i didn’t realize what went wrong, everytime after training i have cut and bruises everywhere. But until i saw this video i only know that I’m not the only one who dives like a elephant fell flat on the ground. Thx a lot!

      I'm a libero😆 started a volleyball club and have nishinoya ' s uniform but couldn't get the hang of rolling thunder lol😂

      How did the first game go by the way? Sorry for the late response. Are you able to read the ball when it comes short or do you find that you are arriving late at the ball? A lot of times, we hesitate to go when we do see the ball, so my first suggestion would be to just go when you see it :)

    Perfect man! haha! this really helps a lot. a actually dive like most of the time but my technique is so wrong that's why I always get my knee bruised 😂. luckily I can save the ball but unluckily not my knee 😂

    Hey there Jump Volleyball, quick question, i play libero and for me is quite hard to get short spikes when i am in position 6, they just come super strong and hard, and there is basicly no time to read the oponent position to se where he will spike it to, and to make things worse, it's very hard to block a ball like that so it all depends on me...Any tips?

    This video is so great I now understand how to do it !! But do you have any tips on how to increase your jumping power, if you're not that tall and you want to be able to spike the ball from a higher point!?!:)

    All of my coaches tell me that when i land my hands need to stay out in front of me. Is it okay for when i land after i recieve the ball for my hands to go to my sides or do i need to change it

    Great video! I know you are guys...but do you happen to know if the exact same technique works for women as well? Because landing on the chest might be quite painful for us.... :'D (I'm just starting to get into volleyball hence the question haha)
