i second the other comment that says to leave a chest up by the mines, every five levels you can empty your backpack and then just keep going! great video Mriz 😊
god i love stardew, you really are always learning new things. i have over 1k hours in stardew and this tip seems so obvious but i never thought about doing that!! thank u :3
@christian981 yeh but you inventory gets full all the time. You can come pick stuff up the next day if needed. Just gives you something to dump a few items for space for your run.
Great Job! When i first started(4/20), I almost quit because i couldn't do the fishing. Then i found out about the "training rod"!!!!! Now, 4 yrs later, i still use the training rod for my first several fishing levels. Place a chest near the mine elevator to leave your tools, etc in. Also you can store bombs and food for future runs. I color code my chests the same on all my farms so i always know where to find things. I had no idea when i started how important the villagers are.
This saved me! I'm new to stardew valley and I find fishing to be the most difficult skill to practice but now thanks to you I have the Training Rod🎉 Also didn't know we can put chests wherever we want - I thought only on the farm😂 You're a total life Saver!❤
Same, I wish I could go back and tell myself to READ THE HECKING LOST BOOKS So many things I could have figured out on my own... At least 1.6 gives me some fresh content to discover
I just started playing today and was definitely overwhelmed with not wanting to miss anything or mess something up. I found these tips to be easy to understand and things that will actually help me. Great video and hopefully I'll see you in the Valley
I'll never forget my first time... had a great starter farm going. Was super hyped then didn't realize crops have specific seasons so was devastating to walk out day 1 summer and see everything died haha. Was heart broken but hooked onto this game from then on!
I started playing like 5 days ago and love it but feel so overwhelmed at time bc of how many things I can do, and I don't know what to focus on in the first week (farming vs fishing vs mining vs making friends) so these videos are super helpful :)
Thanks for that "Spoiler-Free" a lot. I'm one of those people that genuinely cares about the story and the LORE of the games I play, so really thanks for not ruining that for me. I've been considering getting Stardew Valley for quite some time now due to my friends' praise, and I want to try out a new "casual life simulator" (Minecraft is great for that, but now I want something more grounded in reality.)
Found this my first irl day on the game. Wow tysm for all the useful tips! You were so concise and full of info, I found myself pausing and rewinding multiple times to process everything. Great video!
Just started playing this month. I wondered why the stable was an odd shape 🤦🏼♀️ I’m going to move it beside my house as soon as my Switch charges! THANK YOU! ❤️
I just bought this game. All I knew was it as a popular cozy game popular among that crowd. I was shocked at how little it tells you what is happening or what to do, and how difficult the fishing game was. I mean, I was missing fish and I play a lot of shooters and action games. I couldn't imagine the chill gaming community enjoying something like that.
❤❤❤ I too, am a serial restarter 😂😂😂 but this guide is awesome! I have spent Soooo many hours playing SDV and have never been able to organize anything. These tips are phenomenal!!! Thank you so much ❤ I NEVER thought to put gifts in a chest outside the saloon, but like... duh!!! Thats so easy and convenient! Omg! ❤ thank you!!!!!!
This was/is by far one of the best guides with tips and tricks fle the game 🎉 Im new to stardew valley and there's so much I don't know, I went in almost completely blind (onöy knew that my sisters told me that you have to be in bed before 2am otherwise you pass out!) The comment section here is also helpful🎉
Tip about off season seeds. If you're a new player and you feel like you missed out like you didn't know. Don't skip the winter Night Market Event. It last 3 nights and there's a shop keeper that in each night sells you the crops for each of the 3 earlier seasons. So you can prepare for year 2 right from Winter.
Great video! I'm a new-ish player and still struggling. I keep two saves going; first is a community center save and the second is a joja mart save so I can just focus on building my farm and making money without the pressure of doing the community center. I flip back and forth between them every few days or whenever the mood strikes
the first time i played stardew i didnt finish the community center and its already year 6! but i had so much fun playing with my sister my now to be favourite game. we now have a new farm and we are having so much fun. take your time playing stardew, its fun to look at your old farms after a long time.
I just wanted to say thank you so so much for making this video I recently got a Nintendo switch back in December of 2022 and I bought stardew valley my first week of owning it because I've heard so many good things and honestly I've hardly played it because when I did try to play it I have to admit it was extremely hard to make progress in the game and also try to make any connections with the villagers themselves it took me a long time and finding an online website to figure out what they like in order to gain friendship points lol but honestly the tips that you gave away in this video will really help my next play through because I do genuinely want to get into the game I love the music and it genuinely is very pretty to look at and with all the content updates it's really worth getting into
it’s like a coming of age rite of passage when you just spent all your hard earned gold planting those nice new crops…..and then they all die the next day because the season changed
I bought the game not a month ago, and I'm in the middle of Fall year 1, and I just understood how to access the mines, I was right beside the little stairs, but I never pushed the action button. I see I have a lot to catch up to, but I'll follow your advice, especially I'll keep going with this farm and not start a new one. I think it makes sense what you said about not having a right or wrong way to play the game, and I think that's what's making it so enjoyable for me. Eventually I'll start a new farm, but I'll stick to this one for at least another month. Thanks for all the info!
I feel like the house upgrade is pretty important early on, as well as the backpack upgrade! The house so you can cook the recipes you learn and that way when your doing something time consuming like Mining, you dont have to worry too much about energy! And the backpack upgrade because storage is super important!
I had no idea I could use the elevator in the mines until year 2 and kept trying to get to level 40 in the mines from the beginning.. my mind was blown when I realized I could use the elevator for every 5 levels AND you can build staircases for the mines
My 4th playthrough is my best, since I found this cnannel. Thanks for all the tips, thanks forntelling me where I get magic rock candy. Helped me to find 3 auto-petters and 1 luck ring in 1 skull cavern run!❤❤❤❤❤
The first time I played I was overwhelmed and did not know what to do. That was like a year ago. But I started playing last month again and I am definitely hooked for sure. I spent a week grinding my first year nonstop. I love it so much. 😭😭😭
I picked up the game again after a few years and have been HOOKED. And I'm mad I never realized I could look at the community center bundles from my inventory. Thank you for this incredibly time saving tip 😭 I can't believe I never noticed
Such a great video, thank you! I did some playthroughs in 2018/19 but just rediscovered the game and this was really helpful. And I was specifically looking for a video with no spoilers so even better!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to make this. I was feeling overwhelmed on my play through, but this really helped me have more direction. Enjoying the game a lot more now! ❤
Just started playing this on switch last week and I have already put over 30 hours! I cant believe I’ve waited this long to jump into this game. I’m about halfway through my first winter season and I had no idea how the community bundles/community center quest worked so I’ve just been making my way through the mines (level 95 at this point) and building up my skills. Fishing is close to max and the rest are at least above 5. Definitely gonna focus on the community center for year 2!
There is a way to make regular sprinklers work for you. You just have to work with their pattern and not against it. It's not the most economical but until you unlock gold bars or transmutation (or want to buy gold ore from Clint) they can offer much needed relief from some watering during Summer and Fall of Year 1. This is especially useful for Summer as most players will not have upgraded their watering can by this point.
Great tips - thank you. I'm not only recently new to Stardew, but I'm new to gaming. I love how I can play the game the way I want to without pressure.
i've owned stardew for years and haven't ever made it past summer because it's so overwhelming and i always feel like i've messed something up. thanks for this video! 🖤
Thank you for this video! I am new to Stardew Valley and video games in general. I am hoping playing will be a way that I can relax and chill out, but I've never played a game like this so sometimes it's overwhelming to know what to do next! So thank you for this!
I started this last night thinking it was a nice simple farm and sell game, but its blew my mind a little with how much more is in the game. What's the best way to increase what you can carry? I saw a backpack for sale but it was 2000 and I don't have anything like that. I feel like this video will be my go to for the foreseeable. I just need to get my restaurant to platinum status in Dave the diver and then I'm fully committed to this
I have a lot of hours in stardew on switch bur haven’t played it for ages! This was super useful and I did NOT know you didn’t have to go to the community centre haha
I needed this exact video! No spoilers. Just some helpful tips :p played stardew valley once for a few weeks but got overwhelmed but I wanna get back into it!
Thank you for the info! I started my first playthrough on the weekend and immediately planted too many crops and ended up doing nothing but watering xD
This is awesome, thank you so much! I felt smart for the very few of these things I'd figured out on my own and the rest are super helpful! One big takeaway is that I need to ditch the controller and start playing with mouse and keyboard. Luckily I'm only halfway through my first year so I haven't had time to establish a bunch of bad habit yet, lol! Thanks again, super helpful video. :)
tysm for this video! i'm starting stardew for the first-ish time bc my boyfriend gifted it to mee and ive been kinda lost/overwhelmed after trying it a few months ago for free on xbox so hopefully this time around it will be a little better ^-^ ♡
Great video! I learned some of these by trial between playing in my own world and playing in a world with my fiance, but there's a lot I didn't consider you pointed out!
This was a super informative video! I have 50 hours into the game but 90% of this video was new information 😅 I am starting over fresh tonight because of the 1.6 update but I'll go back to my first farm eventually.
The quickest way to get Emily as a companion is going in the mines go down to level 20then to 21. Look for any amethyst or topaz. If you can’t find any mine the copper that’s there if there is any then go back up to level zero and then repeat

Hey, I was wondering if you could touch on how to make a large jam preserve “empire”😂 or for wine. I’ve searched all over RUclips and can’t find anyone making a video of it. I know it’s very specific, but I thought I’d ask✌🏽
I recommend using the training rod until you get enough money to get the fiberglass rod! You can level up and earn money by fishing just with the training rod
You are such a beautiful person your energy is amazing this is first bideo i saw of yours looking for tips on the game and not only did you give good tips but your whole personality shined in a way thats makes me have hope for humanity.. idk thank you.
What platform are you playing it on? There's a free cheats on the game, which the creator purposely gave. But if you're on nintendo switch, it doesn't work cuz nintendo patched it up
I think my tip for new players is: Only have your first play through be with others if you are very close and hang out almost everyday. And if you know you both/all got time to play. Otherwise. Have your first play through be a solo play through. It's easier to enjoy the learning process if others aren't rushing you or missing to progress the game.
I disagree about buying an early weapon from the Guild. The Silver one for 750 gold is a huge upgrade, relative to the sword you get on reaching mine level 20. The much higher damage makes combat ridiculously easier. And 750 is very cheap.
Me 3 times. It was better 2 years ago when the unlimited item cheat code was still there. But nintendo patched up the free cheats so... People prefer to play it on pc because that cheats are still intact even after the update
Wonderful video 😊, thanks so much for it...I think now I won't look like such a fool in my streams 🤭. Looking forward to watching more of your content 👍
you can always play at your own pace! you dont necessarily need to do everything on the first year or anything like that, thats the magic of stardew :>
just two comments 1.getting the basic sprinkler is good for beginners as help water some crops for them and its early enough. getting quality sprinkers mean getting to level 80 for gold 2. two relation ships to build early is Caroline for the tea leaves and linus for the wild bait Great vid - new subscriber
I have several chests in the areas in which I use them I didn't know that there was going to be a workbench great tip thank you I'm on my first playthrough in Fall of my first year there is so much information I know I have too much stuff in my chests currently I'm just afraid to sell anything My son made fun of me for putting down a stone path already
I played Stradew valley for the first time in 2018 i was hooked until 2019 i had to drop it because university. Been thinking about getting addicted to the game again
not gonna lie, i refused to play for awhile cuz i have it on switch and when i look up stuff for the game on youtube its all mods and pc content. switch users have to only rely on wiki for the most part. that or reddit.
i didn't fish for almost the entire spring of my first year and willy himself stopped by my farm to give me a training rod 😭
LOLLL Willy didn’t wanna wait no more
SAME 😭 I told him I was struggling LMAO
Starting my first ever Stardew playthrough tonight, these spoiler-free tips are super useful thank you!!
i second the other comment that says to leave a chest up by the mines, every five levels you can empty your backpack and then just keep going! great video Mriz 😊
god i love stardew, you really are always learning new things. i have over 1k hours in stardew and this tip seems so obvious but i never thought about doing that!! thank u :3
Oh yeah great idea. Even with maxed out backpack in year one I fill my full inventory all the time 😂
But don't you need to go home to sleep anyway?
@christian981 yeh but you inventory gets full all the time. You can come pick stuff up the next day if needed. Just gives you something to dump a few items for space for your run.
such a good idea!!
Great Job! When i first started(4/20), I almost quit because i couldn't do the fishing. Then i found out about the "training rod"!!!!! Now, 4 yrs later, i still use the training rod for my first several fishing levels.

i also quit because of fishing, i rage quit then i replayed it on pc and found it more pleasing and easier to play
As someone with 800+ hours in the game, I wholeheartedly agree with everything she's saying.
Same, I wish I could go back and tell myself to READ THE HECKING LOST BOOKS
So many things I could have figured out on my own... At least 1.6 gives me some fresh content to discover
I just started playing today and was definitely overwhelmed with not wanting to miss anything or mess something up. I found these tips to be easy to understand and things that will actually help me. Great video and hopefully I'll see you in the Valley
Build the silo before the coop!
oops
Unless you already have grass still growing in which case it’s fine
Honestly the amount of stress this brought me... I had to google it! 😂
how do i build a silo?
@@youcanthandlethetruth1 go to robin's, there are many useful buildings.

I love the idea of placing chests with gifts around town. I think that will help a lot!
my fav (beginner) farm is the 4 corners one! its amazing, you get a little bit of everything and it helps me with creating designated areas
The first time I played I was overwhelmed and did not know what to do. That was like a year ago. But I started playing last month again and I am definitely hooked for sure. I spent a week grinding my first year nonstop. I love it so much. 😭😭😭
Thank you for this video! I've been playing for about 10 hours and I feel so overwhelmed but I love it. I learned so much from this video.
I picked up the game again after a few years and have been HOOKED. And I'm mad I never realized I could look at the community center bundles from my inventory. Thank you for this incredibly time saving tip 😭 I can't believe I never noticed
I've just started playing and watched a few beginner tips videos but I think you have the best one!! Very detailed❤
Such a great video, thank you! I did some playthroughs in 2018/19 but just rediscovered the game and this was really helpful. And I was specifically looking for a video with no spoilers so even better!
I love that you mentioned to get a coop asap because I'm actually working on that as we speak
Thank you, this was super helpful!
Only build one silo. Then craft a chest to store extra hay. You can store thousands of hay in a chest, but only a couple hundred in silo
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to make this. I was feeling overwhelmed on my play through, but this really helped me have more direction. Enjoying the game a lot more now! ❤
Just started playing and this was extremely helpful! Thank you!

I haven't played since the game first released. Thank you for the tips!
You don't née to build the silo, just put ALOT of grass all over your farm. They will eat it and it counts as hay.
Thank you for the info! I started my first playthrough on the weekend and immediately planted too many crops and ended up doing nothing but watering xD
Your hair look so pretty, thx for the tips!

just started last night and im having a blast. This vid helped a lot
Just got back into stardew valley, playing it on my switch and this guide was helpful. Def got a new sub
Thank you so much ❤ I sometimes feel so behind 😅 but still on my first year :) started fall last night
The quickest way to get Emily as a companion is going in the mines go down to level 20then to 21. Look for any amethyst or topaz. If you can’t find any mine the copper that’s there if there is any then go back up to level zero and then repeat
This is the only stardew video that has ever made sense. I might actually attempt playing again
The community center actually frustrated me and caused me to take a 2 year break from the game because i missed things i needed in summer and fall and just recently finished it. The joja route is so much better and less stressful
best guide i’ve seen by far. well done
Hey, I was wondering if you could touch on how to make a large jam preserve “empire”😂 or for wine. I’ve searched all over RUclips and can’t find anyone making a video of it. I know it’s very specific, but I thought I’d ask✌🏽
It was late winter when I found the mine. I thought it was going to be unlocked in the cave on the farm. The game is a bit easier with the mines. Lol
I just started the game thanks for the tips!
I recommend using the training rod until you get enough money to get the fiberglass rod! You can level up and earn money by fishing just with the training rod
You are such a beautiful person your energy is amazing this is first bideo i saw of yours looking for tips on the game and not only did you give good tips but your whole personality shined in a way thats makes me have hope for humanity.. idk thank you.
that’s very kind of you, thank you :)
@@MRIZZY can you please tell me how i can see the exp gains when i chop a tree for example is that a mod or?
This guide hit different, thank you!
I just started 2 days ago and it's so FUN❤❤
This was so helpful. Day 3 of playing... Wow. Thank you!
I use a chest in the coop to store extra hay. Way cheaper than extra silos and higher capacity.
I just started playing. Thanks for the helpful tips
I placed a wooden chest at the entrance if the mines to help with my inventory space. It's helps me alot.
I started playing it for the 1st time thia past sunday night. I played it for 23 straight hours i love it so much but its been such a struggle 😭
What platform are you playing it on? There's a free cheats on the game, which the creator purposely gave. But if you're on nintendo switch, it doesn't work cuz nintendo patched it up
Take time to give Marnie gifts so you can complete the Mayor shorts quest easily.
I think my tip for new players is:
Only have your first play through be with others if you are very close and hang out almost everyday. And if you know you both/all got time to play.
Otherwise. Have your first play through be a solo play through. It's easier to enjoy the learning process if others aren't rushing you or missing to progress the game.
I've always found funny how swinging the scythe costs no energy when this is actually extremely exhausting in real life 🤣
I disagree about buying an early weapon from the Guild. The Silver one for 750 gold is a huge upgrade, relative to the sword you get on reaching mine level 20. The much higher damage makes combat ridiculously easier. And 750 is very cheap.

Great tips! Thank you!

This game sounds a little stressful 😢 but looks like a lot of funnnn
you can always play at your own pace! you dont necessarily need to do everything on the first year or anything like that, thats the magic of stardew :>
just two comments
1.getting the basic sprinkler is good for beginners as help water some crops for them and its early enough. getting quality sprinkers mean getting to level 80 for gold
2. two relation ships to build early is Caroline for the tea leaves and linus for the wild bait

Excellent and friendly tutorial, thank you - a new player
I played Stradew valley for the first time in 2018 i was hooked until 2019 i had to drop it because university. Been thinking about getting addicted to the game again
I just started this game and already restarted 4 times. I plan to just play way casual. Farm, fish and occasionally complete content.
not gonna lie, i refused to play for awhile cuz i have it on switch and when i look up stuff for the game on youtube its all mods and pc content. switch users have to only rely on wiki for the most part. that or reddit.
That fall soundtrack is a banger 😮
Thanks for the great video! This game is so much fun🎉❤
