The beginning was so hilarious for me. My name is Mike, and I'm sitting here watching this wearing a red shirt!
Why did you run off?
@@GoneUralingspeaking from authority as another mike, a trip to the restroom was probably required 😂
There had to be at least one.
I'd be careful about who I mention wearing a red shirt to. Star Trek monsters who want to kill a random crewman to demonstrate a point could be anywhere.
I was disappointed because I'm wearing a grey shirt
Wow, glad to finally see your face, or at least half of your face. We all know what your hands look like. Keep making those videos Jimbo.
we've always seen some of it in the mirror
He's like Wilson from Home Improvement.
A ways back he forgot to edit himself out or at least blur His image in the rear view mirror in a car he was driving.
@@DaveFromColorado he's inconsistent with that. I've seen bits of his face in the mirror in several videos. I think today was the first time he's made an appearance on purpose though.
@@TKTmon on purpose, I would have to agree :-)
I've always respected the on screen conversions for metric viewers, but putting up a "12" when you said "dozen" made me laugh hard enough I had to pause and replay.
"Well make your mind up, do you want a half dozen or six?" I kid you not an aggro store owner really and truly asked me that once LOL. I stood there at the register and there was a queue behind me. I don't think the store owner liked the look of me, for whatever reason. I turned and looked at the others behind me in disbelief but no one made eye contact and kept their faces blank while looking anywhere but at me.
Dozen is latin dozzina, not imperial haha
@@mrsnezbit2219 Used in metric countries too, as is a score, under different names.
Concerning a French car, dozen must be "douzaine". Guess where the English word comes from? Yep, Renault country 😂

I love how every episode you get a little closer to a full face reveal 👍
Thank you so much!
You got spoiled with the fuel injected diesel, and forgot the "trick" to starting the *carburetor engine* 😂
It was nice to see this project surface again.
Back in about 2000 when u was in high school a classmate of mine in shop class got most of his middle finger caught and cut off in a big bench grinder. They got him rushed off to the hospital and myself and a couple other guys had to take the side cover off the grinder and retrieve his severed finger. They put it on ice and rushed it to the hospital where it was put back on and after several surgeries he had a mostly working finger again. What an exciting day in shop class! 😂
Handsome Jimbo even modified his factory-spec fingers! He can't be stopped!
omg i am in red shirt and my name is mike XD
i felt so called out XD
18:49 thank you for converting dozen for me 😂😂😂 love the vidoe man.
I love how you popped your head on the screen showing only the top of your head.
Reminds me of a character from tim the tool man.
Wilson from Home Improvement was the real MVP
Same!
That was his name, I loved Wilson!
Wilson was the best. I miss quality shows like that.
Specifically, Wilson Wilson. @@13aceofspades13
0:43 surprised me enough I almost choked on my tea
That's why you ran away ?
I love this backyard engineering. It's what really built the US economy.
You inspired me to install a predator 420cc in a 1985 fl350R honda odyssey that had a toast 2 stroke engine. Runs awsome!!!
Nice! I had a chance to pick two of those up years ago for $2500. I passed because both had fried engines. Seems like that's a common issue.
@robotcantina8957 does 40 mph with 250 lbs dude used a comet 94c clutch with some custom moter mounts it was easy fun!
I'm converting my fl350 to be electric. I'm using a fiat 500e motor amd chevy volt inverter.... should be fast, 50hp min stretch goal is 100mph!
For a minute I thought you were talking about a 2-stroke minivan. TIL Odyssey used to be an ATV.
Good to see the goofy old thing back. Its funny how my thoughts about the engine sound changed over the ckirse of the video, from "huh, it sounds like a cut rate harley" to "ohhh, nope, now it just sounds like my lawn mower"
I'm glad that you are revisiting the Renault project. Too many of my favorite RUclipsrs have abandoned projects in the middle of their builds.
I want to see an upgrade to the 670. Valves, rods, pistons, etcetera. The works. A real clutch on the input between the driven pulley and the tranny would be nice.
@@thunderpants645 can't do a real clutch without an intermediate shaft or something cos there's no thrust bearings in lawn mower and industrial engines
Heck yes, i love the old Renault. I'll hold the choke again...
Good Sunday morning.
Monkey Grip rubber cement was what we always used for our tire patching needs. It came in a tube with a cute little monkey face on it. Still available on that jungle site. Clean the inner tube around the hole, buff it a little and blow the dust off, brush on some Monkey Grip, light it with a match to burn off the volatiles quickly, put on the patch, hammer the patch a little (especially around the edges) to stick better, put on the tube, re-mount the tire and off you go! Until the next flat. By the way, lower pressure in the front tires will give you a better ride and more neutral handling, until all those new suspension parts come in. Looking forward to the new carbs, they look totally inappropriate for a Harbor Freight Twin motor.
Enjoyed the little Sunday AM drive in the Renault. Can you get church music on the radio on your Sunday drive in Kansas?
And now we have a secondary mission on spotting the modified fingers.
You have to look really close. The fingers healed extremely well, except one of them is bent slightly
Great tip on the sleeves Jimbo, everything seems to have a razors edge on it. Looking forward to seeing how much you can squeeze out of it and if those 3 lugs can handle the power 😂
I'm wearing a white shirt, a missed opportunity 😂
Im wearing a blue shirt
Same I was wearing a blue shirt as well and also on the toilet perfect
Never mind the insanely wacky contraptions you craft together for reliable, interesting and significant results for the multitude of testing you do... I would watch any video you create because of your forensic detail and almost subtle humour! I mean no offense and you bring much joy! THANK YOU ROBOT CANTINA!❤
Loved the intro featuring Jimbo "Wilsonesque" style! Great subtle humor throughout your shows. The intelligent details & knowledge you display in your work, while feigning some dufuss behavior, keeps the belly laughs rolling! Thanks for all your efforts Jimbo!
Really loved the Wilson style intro fro Home Improvement back in the days. Please watch yourself and keep making this videos.
it doesn't matter to me what you work on Jimbo, every time I watch, I learned something new, and get a laugh besides! Thanks for the work you do! Kevlar arm sleeve things. OK. That's new for me! Keep up the great work, and take care!
So funny 🤣 to watch Jimbo as these Renault's were just normal everyday cars to me 50 years ago! The Renault 4's too, with their umbrella gear change lever! 😅 Nice to see her purring back into life around town!
Hey Jimbo, if you use LED for headlight and tail light that alternator is enough for driving it at night, normal light are 110 + 10 + 24 (headlight, sidelight and backlight) total 144 watts, LED would be less than 20w.
Yes, an LED conversion would certainly lighten the load on the alternator, however since this car is used to make videos, we only drive it where there is decent lighting.
I love how that motor looks in the renault- it's a tidy little pod.
Holy cow, "ran when parked" actually ran again!
Great to see the Renault back on the road. As much as I am really enjoying your diesel Insight project I have a real soft spot for this little boxy Frenchie :)
Thanks for another great and entertaining video! The Kubota powered Honda Insight is an interesting project, but for some reason I really enjoy the nature of adapting a lawn mower engine to a road car. Keep up the good work!
Love the teaser face reveal, but mainly all your amazing projects and fabrication skills. Always a sneaky physics lesson thrown in!
The French music at the end was the chefs kiss, great timing
Man, I love this channel! It gets better all the time! And yes, injury is certainly an occupational hazard!
My grandpa was also an expert at cutting his fingers off and had 3 modifications :) I miss him greatly and I'm not surprised you share this experience given how much work he did and you must have done with your hands to gain all your knowledge
Wow, who knew that Jimbo was really Steve Austin.
Who knew a dozen meant twelve.
Brilliant. I love the Renault v twin. Been waiting ages to see the twin carbs. You may have forgotten, but I did not. ❤
Glad to see you being more comfortable in front of the camera. Those cut resistant sleeves really do work, and I'm glad to see you protect yourself more. Seems like every time I wrench on one of my vehicles, I bleed first thing. And yes, I now have sleeves and gloves ready to go in my garage, a "gift" from work.
I muchly appreciate to finally have a face to the voice of one of my fav channels. Hi Jimbo, nice to meet you ! 😃👋
Tres Bien!!! It's still working. I always enjoy these "new life" projects.......... when the original engine is beyond practical repair, so it becomes an experimenter's platform.
French Guy here! Came for the renaultttt and the "meh! ".Love this Channel! Keep on rocking🚗🚗🚗
That Renault is actually a pretty cute car. I've always liked that boxy look.
Ahh good, the Renault still goes👍
This is hands down the best ch on swaps thank you for all your hard work because I know it's ALOT !!
" a few well-placed stitches at the hospital will pretty much fix all kinds of stuff..." That is awesome.🤣
Street legal go-cart. That is what I call my 2018 Polaris Slingshot 5 speed. Lovely
This video brought back high school memories. My first car was a 1969 R10. Had to put the engine together before I could drive it. 50$ car. Back in 1980.
dozen 12, like it Jimbo, your conversions are serious!
👍💪✌
I love your videos, the voice over commentary is so good.
Red shirt wearer here, kinda paniced until he asked for Mike. Wife also had small bowel movement when he told the person in the blue shirt to sit down. Spooky stuff.
Starting to pine for either an electric car that has an engine inserted to extend range rather than replace battery or a big/mid size car with the engine ripped out, replaced with a one cylinder "generator" and electric drive
7:40 "I actually did my best to make sure the welds were *good enough*"
Love all your videos, but so pleased to see the Renault again 👍😀
Hey Jimbo. Great to see the Rennow (rhymes with Renault) back.
Wow. It cost 6 million dollars to take the cover off 😂😂
Love your work 👍
BIG BLOCK !
Hooray, the Renault is back!
Yessir
Can’t wait to see more on the Renault and the turbo diesel
Thank you jimbo
Appreciate what you're doing
Something funny about the transmission setup on this car. It took a bit to find again, but the NSU Ro 80 runs a 3 speed Manual transmission with a automatic style torque converter or something like that.
O snap . Mixing it up on us .. jimbo with the flippady floppady make me want more MOREEEE!! 😅 LOL peace and love brotha jimbo keep it rad stay safe and build on. L8z famz and keep having fun jimbo . Thanks for maken Sunday morning worth getting up 😅much live n respect bro 🤘🏽✌🏽
I love your channel and all your videos. I look forward to them every Sunday morning.
I just love this old Renault
16:20 oh that wonderful sound of a predator twin being forced through a belt slip cvt...
Thanks Jimbo! You know, French cars are not the only French things that get weirder as they get older. (Speaking from experience here, 😁)
Great vid as usual. Can’t wait for the next one. Always great watching your projects grow.
_Suspension_ and _Reverse_ would be really cool. Someday, Jimbo. I can wait. Amazing how involved those two words I just typed are.
Oh, Mike ran off because he had to go Oui, Oui. 🚗🤣😂💦
Jimbo loves his Six Million Dollar Man sound effects.
Yeah, the Renault is back! :) Great video and good idea with that Kevlar work protection. Maybe the new distinctive mark like Chris Fix' blue gloves? Also I have to mention again I love your subtitling. Who would have known otherwise that the American "dozen" is exactly the same 12 as the German "Dutzend"... 😄
WELCOME BACK JIM ! ! !
glad to see you back buddy, edit,
holy shit im wearing a red shirt lol you got my name wrong tho haha
Been waiting to see the Renault to be back on the videos love to see it man 🔥
Good stuff Jimbo, thanks for sharing your videos. 👍
Well done Jimbo. A spare supercharger to sling on it would be interesting 😎
Big Jim -
(or is it Jimbo?)
Love the vids and I dig how you did a little bit of an explanation on the Kevlar sleeves. Very cool, good sir..!
Keep the great vids coming!
Glad to see the Renault rolling again! I know just who to contact the next time I decide to put a lawnmower engine in one of my cars!
Nice to see the Renault brought back from mothballs.
Looking forward to seeing the Honda project.
How can you not love this little French jewel?
Gotta spend time keeping the fleet going. Awesome video
I'd love to see a project car drag race 😂😂😂
a fairly good argument for the utilization of a todo list, to exist on the project car itself. cheers from MN!
Love starting my Sunday Sunday with your channel!!!
I got up way late today and my Sunday didn't feel right. I realized I didn't immediately come here with my coffee. My day literally did not start right without Jimbo and his wonderful antics
I just love that Renault. That was the only reason I joined this channel ❤
I love it when you get back into the old Renult and have a good little drive.
More fascinating time wasting stuff but completely essential! 👍 Are you thinking of popping that dent out of the rear door or giving it a bit of a wash? I think this delightful little car has endured enough experimentation to deserve it, or am I jumping the gun. I so enjoy your videos. 😊
I was about to ask when the Renault was coming back, now it’s back it’s my fav project thanks jimbo
Yay the Renault is back! I've been wondering about it. As I remember the switch to the Insight was because of waiting on parts,
I thought it was winter. A fair weather car. But my memory is bad.
@@eslmatt811 it was both awaiting parts and also the Renault doesnt have any HVAC so it would have been way to uncomfortable in the winter
The lack of a heater put the Renault on the back burner for the winter. In warmer whether the car is a lot more comfortable.
@@robotcantina8957 Ah that makes sense!! Thank you!
It is nice to see the old Renault back. Looking forward to the gearbox repair video on it.
Jimbo! Good to see you directly instead of stealing a glance through a reflection, lol!
It's nice to see the Renault again.
Good to see the RenaulT again, it's definitely inspiring weird engine swap ideas for various pasture-based oddities around me...I wonder if the 670cc Predator can drag a front drive Chrysler K Limousine around at 50-55? It's BURIED back in an abandoned looking house, so I'll have to talk to the owner without getting shot at first. Wish me luck!
What a pretty little car, I love the 60s styling.
Great job ❤
First ride of the spring is the best. ^_^
I'll try to get my bug running next week if weather allows.
Thumbs up for the good content!👍👍
I always look forward to your videos Jimbo. Glad to hear you're taking care of extremities. You can't replace those original parts. 😄. I like the twin carb idea. I am partial to that. You can tell by my pic. Keep up the great work. Tim H.
I almost stood up to salute when you were hawking the kevlar sleeves (or some band-aides) 🎉
Another great Sunday morning video, cheers!
I cant wait to see the outcome of the twin mikuni carbs jimbo. Happy to see you pull the Renault back out
I almost forgot that this existed 😳 happy it's back!
Thanks again.
Yes!!!! Back on the predator engine
Looks down and kicks a rock... Jimbo always has the coolest go-karts... 🙁
Love the Steve Austin power sound byte. 🙂
