Great review!!! Appreciate the honesty about the first ones and this new point of view after the long quest you undertook. Mad respect for that. 😂 Hopefully some people will change their minds! But yeah, whoever hated them will still do. Cheers!
It’s an entirely different movie experience, this should have been the only version that Netflix released. The first half hour of the Director’s Cut doesn’t even exist in the studio cut.
Only seen part 1 so far but wow I really liked it, not zacks best movie but a damn good one, my only criticism is why did everyone stand on the sideline whilst nemesis was fighting the spider? Maybe they wanted to see if she was the real deal? That's the only logical reason I can find, it bugged me, but other than that i can't fault it, can't wait to start part 2 tonight. Blood axe was awesome RIP and Jimmy seems very interesting, the world building is next level, the story is decent and the characters are growing on me, they felt like real people, the dialogue was pretty cool 7/10 from me
Agree, but am willing to cut Netflix some slack. I can see why they'd want a PG cut of the film after probably seeing some of the R dailies Snyder was also shooting. Now before we condemn Netflix too hard, I read that, by their own metrics, RM 1, the PG cut, did so well that it basically paid for everything after it. So I'd rather let Netflix have a PG cut if it means we get an R version later. And yeah, I want the continuation. Now that we can get away from our scrubby hills around Magic Mountain, I mean "Veldt," we can go see just who are those mysterious beings that powered the Dreadnaught.
I managed about two thirds of Rebel moon part one, and I turned it off. It felt so incomplete. Story beats were missing. Charachter development. I like the idea that some films need 3 hrs to complete the narrative arc. I felt that way about Zack Snyders Justice league. I felt that Joss whedon butchered it. But the zach snyder extended version, I enjoyed it much more. Not sure if I want to dip my toes into the R rated directors cut. The first version made me think that it was a rejected starwars script without lightsabres. A rehash of 7 Samurai. Which it is. Some great action scenes, but also some pretty wooden actring and dialogue. And it felt like a retreaded tyre. I've been down this road before with better tread. But great cinema can come from reimaging older films. Thank you for your thoughts. I might just have to take a re-look at this.
Genuine question - what made the director’s cut better? Did they flesh out all the characters or did they just add violence, gore and sex? Because I won’t watch it if it’s just the same exact story with nothing to give it any more character development. The pg-13 versions were so boring and I’m not going to invest more time in it if all they added was violence and sex. We’ve seen that all before.
I really enjoyed the directors cut versions, i sat and watched it and was very satisfied!!
Both are masterpieces to me i had a great great great time i wasn't boring at all whoooooo
I loved Zack’s justice league and rebel moon was gas it felt high stakes, the imperium is certainly interesting
If he does part 3 Netflix needs to just to give us the complete movie on day one instead of messing it up.

I completely agree. I would really like to see more of this story. But…. Let’s skip the PG-13 versions.
W video, I watched the first hour of the first movie back when it first launched and decided to drop it. Might actually give it a proper go now🙌
Don't. It's still shit.

Couldnt agree more
I am so ready to watch these movies.
Btw, I have not watched these PG-13 cuts .
So rooting for an experience 😁😁.

Amazing movie!

great review didnt even know there was a directors cut
Both parts were so hardcore!! I love them.
Its a shame Media are so mad today with Zack
Nice!

Don't discount the visceral nature of Gore and sex you're basically hardwired to enjoy that shit. Sad but true.
I liked the director's cut, only the weeding of the grain in the second part was almost a movie on its own , thus way to long
hollywood pls stop making pg13 movies chikdren dont care going in theaters to watch adult movies
Bit too late isn't it?
More TRASH from Zackie the Hack Snyder😂😂😂😂
