    No. 1 Cylinder on a 2.8l V6 is on the passenger side folks, google it before you comment 🤣
    Also, I miss spoke! The harmonic balancer will line up with the 0 degree Mark at top dead center on the compression stroke, and top dead center on the exhaust stroke; not on bottom dead center!

    Yess a Camaro and it has the 2.8 v6. I love those engines and never had a problem out of them . That's all I've ever worked on and drove . I had a 85 chevy celebrity 2.8 carbureted same set up as this car but automatic. Then a 92 s10 2.8 tbi 5speed 337,000 miles and now I have a 85 s10 with 2.8 carbureted v6 . But I sold the 92 s10 but kept the engine and might swap it into my 88 s10 I just bought cause the engine in it is a 2.54cyl and has a 5speed but blown headgasket so might do that . But I most definitely wanna see more of this Camaro can't wait lol.

      @@keeganlangford5580 well they aren't so bad once you remove the emissions, open the heads up a bit, and get them a bit more fuel to burn. The LS wasn't always cheap like it is now. Hell, depending on when he went to college even the LT may have been too pricey. Anything is better than those 2.8 turds. Even the 2.3 4 banger foxbodies could at least handle a turbo.

    Fixing the exthaus and intake leaks will make a big difference, and a gearbox oilchange could help with the syncro issue.
    If the shifting still acts up, it may behave if driving like a non sycro one, double clutching and rev matching.
    double clutch&revmatch will make downshifting buttery smooth deceleration when slowing down in any manual vehicle.

      I'm not sure what the laws are in your state. However, in Texas, we're dealing with reproduction problems with the cat population. There is a catch and release program in our state to keep the cat population under control via neutering and spaying, as well as neutered alpha male cats can keep cat colonies from forming. Just some two cents.

    Kind of reminds me a little of my Brother and my cars from back in the day. He had an 85 iroc-z and I had an '86 firebird with the 2.8 . Those doors have got to be sagging by now. They were some of the heaviest car doors in the 80's, lol. I miss that firebird. It fortunately had the T-top in it as I'm 6'8" and my hair (back when I had hair) brushed on the glass if I sat up in it. I used to recline the seat back so far I had to lean forward to see out the side windows, LOL! Brother's camaro was black like that one while mine was metallic gray with an orange-ish red stripe around it and the louvers on the back window. P.S. I'm not sorry my hair is gone, it was always a PITA when I had it as it never looked "neat" no matter how often I combed it, first little breeze and boom, rats nest again! I started shaving my head in my mid 20's and now I no longer need to, lol.

Eventually between him and his dad they came up with a price I wouldn’t refuse. I left my subs and amps in there. Honestly the engine needed some work but the kid was aware. Love 3rd gen Cameros, just the body and the inside is awesome hope I can find one at a reasonable price, I also want to do one as a project car, love to drop a 396 or 427 but maybe in future when I actually get a camero lol,or hell might as well go all the way with a twin supercharged 572 for my 1970 nova oh boy lol,now that would be a dream car for me pushing somewhere around 1000-1400 HP,that wold be so much power to try and handle but god would it be so fun you know???,btw Me and my two oldest boys love watching y’all videos,y’all kick ass and funny along with Derrick on vice grip garage sorry for writing so much but keep up the good work👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    We had a similar thing with my Dad's 89 Chevy pickup when he had to pull the distributor. You had to disconnect something on the firewall to time it otherwise it would show some crazy advance with a timing light.

    • @HALOman-vi2tg
      @HALOman-vi2tg 4 года назад +1

      BarnyardEngineering the computer controls the timing. Disconnecting that wire stops the computer doing that. Learned that from my brother’s 87 Chevy pickup

    Once again I feel jealous. As a car like that wouldn't even be road legal in the UK and would still cost over £10k.

      Phil Roberts due to the age or the amount of repairs required to be safely operational?

    • @misterthegeoff9767

      @@jeremycribb4696 wouldn't pass the annual inspection due to that busted windscreen wiper. Honestly if that and the speedo were fixed and it just had a good service and the correct lights added it would probably pass though. Biggest problem is they just weren't sold in the UK so you'd have to find one someone imported.

    I had a 1984 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport with that 2.8, although it was Fuel injected and had an automagic transmission. It was surprisingly fast for what it was.

    Reminds me of my old 83 Camaro I had! I’ve had a couple of third gens my last one that’s in my profile pic had the same carbed 2.8. The previous owner changed the carburetor to a Quadrejet “Varajet II” two barrel eliminating what was left of all the smog junk that various previous owners took kibbles and bits off until there wasn’t much smog stuff left. I miss that car even though the carburetor needed to be rebuilt as it decided to leak fuel from every oriface it had and the distributor didn’t have a hold down bolt so it would constantly adjust its own timing at idle lol. Someone also put on iroc doors, iroc hood, iroc hatch and duck fin spoiler and it had some old skool American racing wheels on it with huge back tires and it just screamed trailer park stance😂🤘
