Yess a Camaro and it has the 2.8 v6. I love those engines and never had a problem out of them . That's all I've ever worked on and drove . I had a 85 chevy celebrity 2.8 carbureted same set up as this car but automatic. Then a 92 s10 2.8 tbi 5speed 337,000 miles and now I have a 85 s10 with 2.8 carbureted v6 . But I sold the 92 s10 but kept the engine and might swap it into my 88 s10 I just bought cause the engine in it is a 2.54cyl and has a 5speed but blown headgasket so might do that . But I most definitely wanna see more of this Camaro can't wait lol.

Man, that car takes me back to my college days when I restored an ‘85 Camaro with the MPFI 2.8 v6. It was a dog, but I loved it. Later I swapped an ‘88 IROC 350 drivetrain into it. 😎👍 Loved the video!
@@keeganlangford5580 well they aren't so bad once you remove the emissions, open the heads up a bit, and get them a bit more fuel to burn. The LS wasn't always cheap like it is now. Hell, depending on when he went to college even the LT may have been too pricey. Anything is better than those 2.8 turds. Even the 2.3 4 banger foxbodies could at least handle a turbo.
2.8 multi port motor goes 0-60 in 10 minutes, downhill with a wind, and the local football team pushing. I can crack the joke, because I owned one some 23 years ago.
Fixing the exthaus and intake leaks will make a big difference, and a gearbox oilchange could help with the syncro issue. If the shifting still acts up, it may behave if driving like a non sycro one, double clutching and rev matching. double clutch&revmatch will make downshifting buttery smooth deceleration when slowing down in any manual vehicle.
I like the IROC hood and the IROC tail lights with the flat black over spray. All it really needs now is to get rid of the 2.8L boat anchor and drop in a LS and you'll be golden!
22:52 wow it has a clutch in the rear end , the posi is working a bit . the clutch is probably worn but will still do both tires when your just driving normal , might be ok in the snow :) . I think the rear end was changed with the transmission . 84 F bodys had 373 in the rear . but tiny 7.6 inch ring gear

Sounds like the timing could still be off a little. I know on a 2.8 I had you had to unplug the “EST” wire when setting base timing. It prevents the distributor from advancing the timing. Good luck!!

The previous owner changed the carburetor to a Quadrejet “Varajet II” two barrel eliminating what was left of all the smog junk that various previous owners took kibbles and bits off until there wasn’t much smog stuff left. I miss that car even though the carburetor needed to be rebuilt as it decided to leak fuel from every oriface it had and the distributor didn’t have a hold down bolt so it would constantly adjust its own timing at idle lol. Someone also put on iroc doors, iroc hood, iroc hatch and duck fin spoiler and it had some old skool American racing wheels on it with huge back tires and it just screamed trailer park stance😂🤘
This one has an IROC hood and a Berlinetta from bumper cover...
