I am sorry that there is some weird jump cuts in the video (the black screen). I am not sure how it happened though :/ Looking at the video on my editing software the jumps cuts are not there, so something must have happened on RUclips's part. I hope it doesn't ruin the video for you guys, as all the lyrics are still in the video.
I like this trend in japanese music, where really deep (usually depressing and written in metaphor heavy poems) lyrics are masked in beautiful and somewhat happy melodies such as this. Though only native japanese speakers will really get these songs, I would love to have a native explain us these songs, in podcast/series type content. Hats off to you for trying to translate among the many hidden messages.
Thank you so much for such a sweet comment. Japanese music is the reason why I decided to learn the language. Yes, I really wish more native Japanese speakers would analyze lyrics. I find the main issue in translations is that they take the lyrics too literally. Unlike many English songs, Japanese songs don’t tell a specific story. It’s vague where a listener can interpret their own meaning. Honestly, I think a great non-Japanese artist who does something similar like many other Japanese artists is Kurt Cobain from Nirvana. Just to clarify, I am talking about the vagueness of lyrics, not disguising sad/deep lyrics w/ a happy melody. However, if I had to choose a non-Japanese artist who does that, I think RM from BTS is a great example of that.
@@queeneuphoria8177 I got recommended of some of your content too. kudos as well for your good korean translations. If I had to guess, you grew up somewhere on the oriental? Though I got surprised of your recommendation on Kurt Cobain. To be that cultured gave me chills dude. Recommendations from me would be hey-ya by outkast, pumped up kicks by foster the people, and my personal favorite feels like summer by childish gambino. The first two is more on focusing on the lyrics behind the vibe, but feels like summer is more audio-visual. The biggest rappers of the decade in a vid and the viewers trying to find them all, while ignoring what gambino is singing about, global warming and scary futures. The music video meant how we are used to tuning trending music and drama over more important subjects. Anyway I got excited over your comment dude like.. you got me with your translation and that wholesome reply you sent.
@@boikrasinki7278 I actually am born and raised in the US. However, I am mixed w/ Asian, so of course that played a part. Sorry to disappoint, but I got the Korean translation from the official MV. I know a bit, but definitely not enough to translate. I grew up w/ Kurt Cobain, Flyleaf, Metallica, Radiohead, etc. But of course, Kurt Cobain holds a special place in my heart. Your recommendations are great. I especially think Pumped up kicks goes over people’s heads a lot. However, I think the reason why is because sometimes a meaning of a song can be hard for others to accept and process. Personally, I think feels like summer can be applied to that as well, but a bit differently. Many people recognize global warming is an issue, yet don’t want to take the steps to make the situation better and would rather forget about it, as you mentioned the MV included famous musicians and a calm melody to disguise the song’s true meaning. So, I think your personal favorite is great! Although this song doesn’t apply, I personally love Me and Your Mama by Childish Gambino, it’s a bit experimental, but the beats are so good imo. Thank you again for your sweet words and recommendations. I’m glad my comment made you excited, your comment is making me want to make a new video :)
@@queeneuphoria8177 and I look forward for more of your translations on deep, poetic japanese songs by bands like osterreich. Thank you for your replies too, its rare to get to talk to about music like this from where come from, and even rare to find good understanding and agreement on many aspects of music. If I may recommend a song to translate, it would be swandivemori by osterreich. Same album as film. I havent really found many indie japanese bands, since I bump to many mainstream ones like TK and Survive Said the Prophet. But anyway, keep up the good content dude ^-^
Yeah but then again I think the fact that we don't really gasp what the lyrics say is what makes these songs so beautiful ya know, im a sucker for songs like this!!
I really love how Every Osterreich Song always match to Sui Ishida Artworks Its like they are blend together Like Moonlight sonata 3rd movement with Starry Night By Vincent Van Gogh
This is one of my favorite songs by them! Your translations are amazing, given how abstract some of the songs can actually be. Math Rock is tough enough without having to translate meanings. I know that this is criminally underappreciated. I hope that you know that someone out there really likes your work!

By far the best version of this song. Tears came to my eyes...
That's a nice picture of Dragon Rize Kamishiro right there! The voice and the relaxing yet motivating music of Ostereich really fit with her!
I’m so glad you noticed the picture. With Österreich I try to choose the best Tokyo ghoul pic that would fit the song. Thank you for watching!
I remember this song being a demo on their SoundCloud, holds close meaning to me, esp since it has been fully released
Oh wow so you've been a fan for awhile then. It is a very beautiful song

The staggering of the drums and the piano in the hook is so siiiiickkk

You are very welcome :)
At 2:17, the line reads "mireba bachi" but i hear something along the line of "shi(something) batsu". Do i hear this wrong?
