I hear Loopy is working on an updated board for the N3DS XL so I'm waiting for that. Emulators have served me well enough for now but I don't have the most powerful PC so it's not the greatest experience in a lot of games.
There must be a better way to get capture from 3DS/XL, emulating feels like undermining the system a game(s) was developed for, not to mention the legality of things. But it's dumb to pay that much for capture for one unit. The NTR streaming is applicable but comes with delays and having to choose what screen to prioritize, and some clients are unstable. There's no winning unless someone bothers to make an open-source or DIY kit. I'm experienced with soldering since my high school days but not with oscilloscope nor programming.
I mean there are diy kits, mainly optimize but you have to get them shipped from Japan and I don’t know if you have to have a Japanese 3ds for it or not
@@Kirb2018 If you mean KatsuKity capture card the company folded some time ago. Not to mention drivers and client are outdated. Again I'd like to see some form DIY or open source.

I'm surprised I managed to even get my hands on a 3ds and ds capture card my 3ds one was a crazy mess to get but the ds one was surprisingly easy to get one seller was just selling a good number of ds capture cards for I think under two hundred dollars odd price but hay I ain't complaining and it works just fine.
It's been sold a few times earlier this year and late 2022, all of which sold out very quickly. Hoping I can snag my hand on one to build myself tomorrow.
Yeah I could do an updated video. I had gotten my new 3DS xl modded by loopy earlier around Jan/Feb just didn’t make a full video on it. As not much had changed other than the usb c I didn’t really know if I would make a video but I guess it has been almost 2 years.
My gtx 960 on citra couldnt cut it for anything 3ds, especially pokemon encounters. Pushed me to get a physical 3ds rather than upgrade the ol PC. no regerts
hmm, i think it would be better to develop like a GBA controller(or Single Screen DS.) so you have the touch function... that can connect to your emulator...and bam. streaming. that would kinda solve the Capture card Craze. take a page out of nintendont and Side engineer.
From what it sounds like that’s still emulator? Some people including me want to play our physical games. While Citra or other emulation are good alternatives it’s not for everyone.
Not really sure if there would be a difference. It might just be a screen size difference. The smaller you make the screen when using 3DS capture the better it will probably look. Since the 3DS has a bigger screen the original image stretches more than what it was meant to.
Question: let's say I choose to purchase the 3DS Capture Card mod, would the 3ds be able to stream normal DS games in addition to 3DS games? Or is the 3DS only able to stream 3DS games?
The mod is designed to capture the 3DS screens in the software so anything your doing on it will be able stream, 3DS and DS games and whatever else you would see on the screens.
No $300 isn’t that bad. Though usually these can go from $500 to $1000 on eBay there not always $300 it’s only if you get lucky or if someone like loopy is doing installs at the time your looking.
Well if you buying digitally in 3DS eshop or physical, you are ok, just the problem with citra with a cheat code for disable the game specifically for the 3D, for gain many performance for the game.
How does the emulator pick up the game? I wanted to play an old game that's probably not very popular. I have an old Nintendo DS. How does the emulator know what game is in? Are there certain cords you have to use?
Not exactly sure what your asking, the emulator doesn't use a physical ds. The emulator you can use for ds one of them is DeSmuME if you google it you should be able to find out how to set everything up. If your thinking of using a capture card you would need to send your ds into loopy to get modified if you had the old phat ds which is the one far right of the thumbnail or the new 3ds xl assuming he still has orders open for that right now. Then that would attach via usb to your computer and use his software from his site to view it on your computer if your looking for a bigger screen experience that way.
The one that loopy just released is only for the New 3DS XL. He did mention that he would start working next on whichever 3DS was more popular choice but I don’t think that will be the original 3DS
Question. My Katsukity 3DS capture card has audio delay when using the software to get it to display on my computer? Would replacing the cord fix this or is it an issue with the 3DS itself?
It could be a cord issue but also may be a usb hub issue on your computer. If to many usb devices are on the same hub like in the back of a desktop or the front of the desktop this may cause interference with the capture card. I’ve had this happen before so I usually have my katsukity capture card in my front panel usb connector and any other usb devices in the back. Though if it is the 3DS itself a work around is just to use the aux to input sound directly into the computer and capture that.
There's a RUclipsr called Dubesinhower that did a video (Ironically a few days before you uploaded this video) on a kit that you can self install and you can still get them to this day. Main issue is though the self install, but you can probably find a modder that can install it for you.
Interesting, yeah the optimize capture card I believe it’s called is still sold from Japan I think. While the process is long you’ll save a lot money if you do it yourself but the amount of people who would go though all the work of doing this rather than just finding an old loopy card on eBay is probably small. Very cool video none the less.
The optimize cards can be found here optimize.ath.cx/shop_oversea/shop_oversea.html they are I believe from china or Japan so it may take a while for it to be delivered. The loopy DS one can be found here 3dscapture.com/ds/order.html

Check his forum. I don’t know if he said anything about it.
Will Nintendo DS gameplay footage look better using a Nintendo DS Capture card over a Nintendo 3DS one? Because DS games look blurry on the 3DS.
