Its in her name and rightfully so) If you had told me she was going to do said vocals with Alestorm, well she knows the guys and I try not underestimate her. If you had told me that Alestorm could write something this great, well they started off semi seriously and are awesome musicians. I know this. I don't think she wants to. She's already BEEN in a great pirate metal band (Storm Seeker) and left to go solo. She has a successful solo career. She gets to be on most Alestorm albums anyway, even guesting on gigs.
You know, she has this effect on bands. My favorite Fiddlers Green song is with her and now my favorite Alestorm song too. They're both great bands on their own, but she has a talent for bringing out the best in them.

I guess you just experienced what I like to say: You never know what you are going to get when Patty is involved in a project. :D In this case, afaik Patty was for the first time involved in the songwriting - she has a history of working with Alestorm before as a guest-musician with her hurdy-gurdy (on the last two Alestorm-albums) and also once with her singing (Zombies ate my pirate ship). She will also accompany Alestorm for the upcoming UK-tour and they announced that all songs she has a part of will be played. I guess, they will also perform "Fucked with an anchor" together as that was done on three gigs last year (Hamburg, Bochum, Eindhoven), when they were on stage together for the first time ever.
This was amazing... I can not explain it, but I was already excited at the inclusion of a hurdy gurdy to their sound. Then she began to sing and it reached a whole different level. I hope this collaboration is not just a one off thing.
I saw these on Friday night in Newcastle and they were class again, patty was with them and I must say she has some voice on her, they played this it was amazing

normally I'd expect an Alestorm song to be somewhere between an 8 out of 10 up to an 11 out of 10 on the really good stuff- by that metric this was at least a 14 out of 10... either that or I need to set my standards a bit higher
I so love this song. I am a huge fan of anything with a hurdy gurdy but I also loved Patty's voice here. It fits the song perfectly. I always have loved Alestorm's frat boy vibe but I love that this is just a straight forward banger that shows their incredible musicianship which I have always appreciated. It takes real skill to be fun and not be cheesy.
