This demo is much appreciated (and well done), thank you. I like this system a lot, and also the Anthem SL, but am now waiting to see if and when LR Baggs will come out with the next version of their brand-new Hifi transducer pickup, which is great but lacks some of the high-end clarity I love, so needs some kind of mic (like the Anthem has). I have heard they might release a modified Hifi with a mic sometime, so I‘ll patiently wait till then. The reason I prefer their approach is because there is no undersaddle piezo involved, so no tone suck at all when playing the guitar unplugged (as any piezo tends to cause). Oh, and thanks for reminding me of „Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)“ as a great song to cover!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Scott! Yeah I also read something about a newer version soon to be released. Would love to try it and compare it to the Anthem installed in my Larrivée! Cheers, Lukas. PS: Good Riddance is indeed a great tune
Nice demo and playing, love Fast Car and Time of Your Life. I've got this installed on my J200 Inspired by Gibson and it is great. I don't mind the piezo sound on it as it more pleasant sounding than other pickups. The all mic option is too shrilly for me and so as a compromise I dial in a mostly piezo option with a little bit of the mic dialled in to give just enough bite. That's only for live streaming though. For any recording I just put an SM57 in front.
Thank you for the kind words! I think even with just a little bit of the mic sound you still get an advantage over a pure piezo sound! Do you never record with it? It think it is very convenient for that too, compared to using a real mic. Cheers, Lukas
@@LMGuitarCorner Actually I really should record more with it. For demo and ideas I record with a smaller acoustic guitar plugged in. I am still experimenting with the right mix between the two really. I run it through a MXR pre-amp and then EQ it too. Too many things to tweak and change!
Lucas that is awesome bro I think you got a really nice example can I ask did you order that one or did you purchase it used or you got it from a dealer
Thank you so much Nelson! I assume you refer to the guitar. Bought it brand new from the store nearby where I also bought the LR Baggs. Cheers! Edit: here's more about the Larrivée : ruclips.net/video/-Dd9zUrvUBM/видео.html
i have an epiphone masterbilt texan. just arrived. i hated the sound of the installed FISHMAN sonitone/sonicore system at first. the string volume was unbalanced and the harsh brittle QUACKY noise just killed my musical soul. i wanted to ditch it and get the lr baggs anthem. so i ordered the system and meanwhile, i was able to dial the harsh and brittleness out and the balance of string volume slowly fixed its self. the quack went away too. no pedals, no fancy eq arrays, just my stage amp (acoustic A20)and simply a bit of judicious volume and tone control usage. i played with plugged in volume and unplugged and the tone and voice of my texan stayed exactly the same in both states. amazing reproduction with invisible artifacts. and my other system is on the way. what to do...
Hi Marco. One negative aspect of the mic, in my opinion, is that it is very sensitive to pick up noises when you touch the guitar. Besides that I also like the tone a lot. The Piezo is different sound and has more bottom end. Therefor, I think it is great to blend those two different settings. Cheers
Yeah that sounds about right to me. Live or in my case at band rehearsals I prefer a little bit more of the Piezo in the mix, but the focus is still the mic tone which is a big plus of the Anthem
@@LMGuitarCornerYou showed the control box by the sound hole, but I couldn't see the microphone. Is the mic not close to the sound hole? Is it under the bridge?
@LoneTinaja Hey there. The mic is directly under the saddle - you can see it perfectly on this picture: www.long-mcquade.com/11192/Guitars/Parts/L_R_Baggs/Anthem.htm Cheers, Lukas
Enjoyed the Demo Lukus really seems like a great sounding rig, plus some fine Pickin to Brother 🤘🤠🎸
Thanks a lot Ryan!! Cheers, Lukas
Love the Anthem and your Larrivee!! Great demo!!

Sorry I missed the premier but was training a class.
No problem Charles. Hope you still enjoy the video :)

Great demo Lucas! Sounds great and really nice playing too! But does it CHUG? I had to ask! 😎🤘🎸❤️🐦🥒
Thanks a lot Laz! I haven't used it with a pedal board or a metal amp to find out if it chugs... Yet ;)
Cheers!
I prefer the Piezo setting because it's warmer and not very over bright like the mic setting.
I totally get what you mean! In my opinion it's great that you can mix mic and Piezo to get the sound you prefer in terms of warmth. Cheers

If you've grown to like the sound of the Fishman system, I'd say don't install a different pickup system. Cheers
Why the piezo always sounds spongy?
Hey Carlos. I can't answer that, sorry. To me it sounds warmer and rounder compared to the brighter mic sound. Cheers
Toca, mano! 🤦🏻♂️
Hi, what do you mean?
I think that full mic is absolutely the best. Why someone should choose piezo or something in between? Which are the pros???
