Great album! My fav by Kalmankantaja is Kaski.
Malum is superb as well !!!
Should be saving money for this pandemic but I'm buying CDs lol. Bought this along with the album by that Icelandic band you reviewed last week. Listening to this right now and must say I am in love with it so far. Thanks Rauta \m/
Glad to hear you liked them! :)
Great artwork & interesting sound, seems to be right up my alley
was absolutely floored and impressed by this release, instant purchase/ pickup when it dropped. Their splits with Iku-Turso and Gratzug are phenomenal too. Good stuff!
Great! I actually just got that Iku-Turso 7" split for review last week. It should be out soonish.
@@RautaMetal Hellyeah awesome! Looking forward to that.
Everything Grim666 does is worth checking out.
Yeah, for instance Lathspell
Love everything they’ve released. Addictive af, once it clicks with you, that’s it, you are done😎
Waldeinsamkeit was my favourite release by them!
Ouch, 15 fullengths in 10 years, when I stumble across these band that have enormous discographies ,I almost always hopes that they suck so that I don't have to bother with them. Gonna check this out later.
Same for me haha
Some of them are not that good unfortunately. Luckily the newer albums are of better quality.
Ok, that's another problem, when band have huge discographies, you can easily go wrong by choosing a bad album and then dismissing the rest which can be of better quality, I will check their newer albums first then.
I love Kalmankantaja I would like to see a interview with them. This album is great!
Heya. I hope to do an interview with them at some point. It could be possible, too.
@@RautaMetal that would be totally awesome! Keep up the good work! I love your channel.
@@MsLostdiamond _Thank you Ms. I do my best to get these interviews done.
To be honest I personally struggle with bands that have such a high amount of releases, be it Kalmankantaja, Drowning The Light or Hermodr. If you did discovered them just a tad too late, they already released so much material that I don't even want to invest the time it would need to pick out the better albums between the (most the time) big amount of mediocre material.
It even kinda feels, as if they wouldn't be focused enough to concentrate their strengths into less, but therefore much more solid material...
Agreed. Also if you happen to start with the wrong songs, the whole band might be ruined. Especially with artists, that change their style over time.
I've said the same over the years in my reviews. Quantity over quality is never the solution. Striborg is a good example of that. Never made a single album that made me to like it. Hermodr and Kalmankantaja are way better, even if they have some mediocre material, too.
I've been trying to listen to Kalmankantaja a couple of times already but just couldn't get into them at all. Giving it one more go with the albums you've recommended.
Yep. Try Kaski or this one.
@@RautaMetal Kaski is great, thanks! Wasn't sure after the first song but the rest of the album fits my taste.
try routama and tyhjyys
Personally not impressed by this release, with due respect. I prefer their work on Routamaa
I was a bit disappointed in this one.
