Very fine and authentic rendering of Brahms One, excellent. Obviously an accomplished Brahmsian who understand the great piece very well. I attended his concert in HK a few years back playing the same score with HKPO and was very exciting too. Outstanding Conductor he is, I hope to see him perform Bruckner in the video.

this is an excellent rendition of Brahms 1. Eschenbach is at the top of the list for most Brahms--as well as Mahler (I saw him do Mahler 5 superb). This version of Brahms 1 matches any 0ther, possible exception of Furtwangler

Oh! so veryvery nice Brahms No.1 Symphony it is. especially I would love first movement tempo which was composed in triplet rhythm. We Asian people might not play triplet's skip rhythm which appear between long tone as like as your European people. Anyway, I would feel Brahms No.1 was played in so natural and very beautiful touch, I mean about tempo through to the end. I would like to appreciate your Brahms No.1 very much. we can't hear real romanticism music in Asia. I think European rhythm is so difficult for us. By the way, they say that "Beethoven said tempo is music"(soon be 92yrs.Japanese) sorry strange English.

Damn. That many public funded bands for one city. That extraordinary quality and here in the U.S. police destroy lives and instil fear and tv shows is all we got to control blacks like me.

I always enjoy a performance of this symphony...but not with commercial drop-ins, in particular in the MIDDLE of the 4th set, thus severely and crassly interrupting it. An insult to the music, the performance AND the composer. JAT
