My only quibble with this performance of Brahms' #1 is that the repeat in the 1st set was left out. Apart from that, however, I found the interpretation exemplary, the tempi crisp and well-delineated between the various sections of the orchestra; and that violin solo at the end of set 2 is always a heartbreaker for me. Very nicely done, thank you. JAT
En mi opinión absolutamente admirable. Y el registro fílmico me permito ahregarlo como un intrumento más a esta maravillosa Sinfonía. Muchas gracias por compartir este concierto. Y me sumo a los aplausos.
It is rare for me to listen to the first two movements of this symphony and not feel its utterly epic and monumental character. Of a struggle that sustains over what may seem like insurmountable odds. Could anything be more beautifully transcendental? So gorgeously romantic?
Interesting, the tempo. Saraste with any orchestra is great including the Oslo with Sibelius. This Brahms can be anywhere from 43 to 50 minutes, a very clear expression of the conductor's interpretation. Part could be the omission of the repeat as noted was not played. Conductor's choice, orchestra's agreement and audience approval. Brahms is Brahms however felt in the soul (in here pointing to the heart....) as quoted by a different conductor. Enjoy the passion of the music. I do. Thank you for this post.
Tausend mal gehört und tausend mal finde ich das diese Sinfonie von Brahms einfach herrlich ist.
Jukka-Pekka Saraste makes any orchestra be a kind of stairs towards heaven.

音楽が、音を楽しむ。になっております。 幅広いですね! Good ですよ。
The music enjoys a sound.
It gets down to boil.
It is wide, isn't it!
It is Good.
First movement opening is TOO FAST ! You've lost the grandeur, thunder, tortured souls, fate's drum!
Bravo❤️ Gerade ein spannendes Video gefunden zu »Brahms und die Frauen«: ruclips.net/video/-yt1AvVXSco/видео.html
Me parece un tanto apresurada. Gracias por difundir!
There are far too many women in orchestras these days, I miss the old days.
All of our female orchestra members are brilliant musicians who are in no way inferior to male musicians.
Not possible.@@WDRKlassik
