Unfortunately, his content is extremely biased and doesn't show both sides of the coin. He's just a part of the typical narrative "Russia = Mordor = North Korea"
I have been communicating with Konstantin even before the invasion began when he was hosting a travel blog in Rostov on Don. I believe he is a good honest man swept up in horrible events. I admire his courage, integrity and humanity. He is a good man.

it is a disaster the scale of which they dont understand yet, and when they do it will be devastating to the country.
As bad as it might be for Russia it is far worse for Ukraine, even with all the support and involvement from USA and it's vassal states.
Just considering the sanction war on Russia, any other large country would be destroyed by it.
Not to mention all the money, weapons and spy satellite/drone intelligence given to Ukraine to defeat Russia.
Just think of all the countries that participate in sanction war, and give support to Ukraine are at war with Russia.
I think they are doing far better than many in USA/UK/NATO expected.
August 2023 Saudi Arabia hosted Ukraine peace talks, the plan was that Russia by that time would be defeated and would come to Saudi Arabia begging to stop the war. Russia didn't go to Saudi Arabia.
Russia will have to pay compensation for all the distress and damage they've wrecked upon Ukraine. So when the war finally ends it's echoes are not over.
And how did it happen? As the excellent YT defense economics channel "Perun" explains, 'vranya' is the RuZZian system of lying/exaggerating/BS'ing as a way of life. Remember the mindset of, "We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us"? Well, Vranya means, "We lie to them about our work, and they know we're lying but don't object because they're lying to their own superiors." Putler is at the top of this pyramid. He thinks RuZZia will win, based on what's reported to him. Reminds me of Hilter 1.0, the original, in his Reichsbunker, as portrayed in the movie "Downfall".

A key part of the interview is the supposition is that Putin will be replaced by a new dragon . That a democracy is impossible.
The serfs were emancipated in 1861 but the serf mentality has never left the society for at least six centuries. Nothing changes.
This belief of Russian imperialism is engendered in every Russian.
Russia needs to lose this war and the Regime needs to fall. The Russian people need to be held accountable because they are.

I found this point interesting of releasing sanctions when the war will end and a liberal sort of puppet might be 'installed' within Russia. Of course it's highly speculative, but I think it's also highly probable and I felt like it was a great point, which could come down to this: how much will truth and responsibility be worth in a future world? Because you better believe some are going to want to bring trade back immediately, and pretend nothing ever happened. I believe we mustn't allow that, not before responsibility by the political class and elites within Russia, such as the oligarchs and all-powerful notorious Siloviki will have taken full and sustainable responsibility for what is happpening now, and there will be measurable sustainable changes within Russian politics instead of some 'puppet' while only common people would pay for the sins and crimes of the elite.
I strongly believe in the future, and maybe already now we, by which I mean western and global watchdogs, should really pay attention to what's happening with regards to these dynamics.

Indeed. To the Covid death add the 300k deaths (and god knows how many injured so badly they'll be a financial burden for decades) and I think we can see how serious is the situation in Russia.
True, but relatively few of those will have been of men of military age. Covid probably didn’t have much effect on Russia’s manpower generation capacities.

Russia is 14billion dollars in defecit compared to 106 billion dollars in credit in 2021. The economy is a war economy and expenditure is 35% up because of military needs. Oil production is down and China and India pay using yuan and rupees. The interest rate has increased. At least Russia should be ok for curry powder and noodles 😊

Unfortunately, Russia has proven to be a lot more resilient to sanctions than expected.
It's hard to destroy an economy that produces a lot more food and energy than it's people can consume.

If President Putin is so great and Russia the best, why is it that every country that was ever in the past and under its yoke now, either moving away as fast as they can to join the EU and NATO, or done so already?

Finland has closed its borders with Russia because of asylum seekers from central Asia and middle east. Questions are:
1) Why doesn't Russia grant these people asylum? It would help with their labor shortage.
2) Why do the asylum seekers want to go to a NATO country instead of staying in Russia?
Because their leaders are corrupt and after some time in politics persuaded to become member of kabal, a agroup of corrupt world elites to run the world based on law of mutual profit and in league with each other, countries, nationsot societies and people of their own country have remain no issue to them in this high global kabal political game. In Canada we used to jokingly say “I just signed my life away” when we got a bank loan. I never imagined in a country like Russia it would literally be true. Such a horror can only come from the mind of a madman.

The bigger problem is US politics, Gaza is causing Biden serious political issues (because many left leaning Democrats are unhappy about Israel's actions) and a second Trump presidency would obviously be a nightmare scenario. Thank you Konstantin for your valuable insight into Russia and (for me anyway) unfathomable Russian mindset. I have always been skeptical of those who say the Russian economy has bounced back. This just seemed to be completely impossible given the circumstances. I also wondered why Putin has not announced his re-election so the next few weeks will be interesting. But Putin did announce his plans to run in the next election.... With an 80+% approval rating it would be hard not too. When the unhappy Russians left the country and the EU sanctions reduced much of the Oligarch's wealth and they too moved to US/UK/EU, Putin's popularity soared.
With the EU sanctions, Putin has discovered the majority of world countries think of him as a world statesman. With their help of increased trade, Russia is running its factories around the clock. Their grocery stores are fully stocked. They still have a cash society, with limited credit use, and little debt. I have read that Russian's have been disappointed they can no longer purchase German and Italian vehicles. According to US articles, Xi is planning on supplying reduced cost or free EV luxury cars from China to Russians. I didn't think EV was the best in cold weather but China is making huge technological progress.... We will see!
Absolutely! Here is the problem. The IMF takes figures on the Russian economy from Russian state departments as fact and without any auditing. Western media then reports those dubious figures from the IMF as fact also.

A third of the next budget goes to the military industry. Okey, but how much of that money will actually end up in equipment?
My guess is that at least a third of that will end up in the wrong pockets.
The military in particular knows what's happening in Ukraine, and the upper echelons will be desperate to snatch as much as they can to secure their own survival in the years to come.
So what ever number goes into the military industry, there will a lot less built, maybe not in numbers of equipment but in quality. Like thinner armour than on paper etc.

The Oligarchs are already pulling out less cash. However they fear the regime of Putin. The buildup will be sold as necessary and a move for volume over profit that maintains the status quo. It's the lack of industrial investment and loss of human capital that might change minds. I suspect China will supply both. You're not wrong, but everything in Russia moves slowly.

Picking random cryptocurrecies to invest in is a risky thing to do, particularly for non-professionals. I learnt that in 2020, when I lost almost everything. The only question is, can Putin stall and hold longer than the Western nations’ (especially the US) continued willingness to keep supplying Ukraine’s war needs? Also, does Ukraine have enough fighting men left to outlast the Ruskies, despite the large Rusky losses.
Actually, only real issue is...Trump. It's Trump who's driving the Republican opposition to appropriatiating more money right now.
In a war stalemate, the country with the larger population has an added advantage. Ukraine is now seeking overseas Ukrainian men to serve in defense of the country. Hope Western resolve to aid Ukraine does not falter. And oli and gas embargoes are being circumvented as mystery brokers are lining up tankers (some not very seaworthy) to buy Russian oil and resell them to willing buying countries. Russia still makes millions of $ from this operation. Iran and N. Korea allies also a big factor in this war.
I don’t think Konstantin is right about why western companies are not leaving. You have to black mail alot of executives and board members to make the companies stay if they really wanted to leave. They might be able to do that, but not without someone leaking the circumstances or the fact that they are black mailed.
The real reason is the investments made in Russia, the real reason is greed.
Russia (Putin and Kremlin) needs to decide what is more important to Russia.
Is the invasion, occupation and annexation of the tiny, tiny Ukraine oblasts of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporitzia, Kherson and Crimea worth losing ALL of Russia for?
If Russia continues on the current course their geopolital status will be extinguished, their military standing completely destroyed and their economy setback 40 years to the point of bankruptcy, from the sanctions most of the world have and continue to apply.
And that's before you consider the internal strife, coups and disappearance of high ranking generals and China's distancing from Moscow.
Is the break up of Russia worth Putins madness in Ukraine ? 🤔

Putin has created internal conflict in Russia, isolated Russia behind a new wall (NATOs fence), halved it's economic capability, crippled it's manufacturing capability, increased fear, surpressed all freedoms, especially freedom of speach, made opponents disappear, or be imprisoned for life for no reason, increased powers of the FSB, increased corruption and kept the population brain washed and subdued.
So hasn't Putin already returned Russia to it's previous Soviet state? 🤔
Ukraine has always been the key. They have lots of resources and smart people. Once it falls or some peace deal starts where they give up the richest areas. Putin will rebuild everything.

Russia is running out of money, that's evident from the Russian Mariupol rebuild, that was just a few show apartments, with rest in ruins. Russia can't give 85% of its own citizens electricity, gas and a flushing inside toilet!

@perkunasti - Ukraine is not theirs to take. Ukraine belongs to Ukrainians. Russia has an overabundance of natural resources - but they must be properly managed. The Russian government has mismanaged extraction, processing, refinement, and re-selling, so regular Russians are not benefitting from their own natural recources!
You gotta fix your own house first, otherwise, you bring nothing to the table. Why would Ukrainians want to be ruled by such irresponsible government management?
Ukraine is beloved by Europe, the United States, and the enitre free world. We see their potential and want to invest in their future - especially Ukraine's vibrant IT sector.
You cannot rule those who demand to rule themselves!
(And that goes for Russians, too, should they accept responsibility for self-rule. It's hard. It's messy. But democracy is always worthwhile.)

You are describing an economy that is under stress, not one that has collapsed. I don't see Putin's power being effectively challenged absent widespread actual collapse.
The Wagner rebellion of a year ago shows what happens if you are too eager to throw Putin out.
I would be delighted to see Putin replaced. But it's tough to destroy an economy that produces more food and energy than people can eat and consume. That's the problem we face, it seems to me.
Still, may happen. But the short term prospects of that seem weak.

U.S. domestic production just set a new high. Sanctions were eased on Venezuela. A large field off Brazil turned out to be a disappointment - but if it hadn't. All shale oil from Canada is making its way to market, Keystone XL or not. It's not like non-OPEC nations have been sitting on their hands.
Check out the inflation-adjusted price of gasoline. Gas costs less now than at many times in the past, and if you smooth out the curve, the price of gas has been flat for over 40 years.

The worst stat is the sheer Russian losses, they are recording 800 a day 5000 soldiers a week are being lost week in week out, Ukrianian losses are a lot less, probably half or even less. Unrest is as Konstantin says evident, but not unexpected and you may already see 1000 civil loses per week, even moving higher than military losses. 20 million 2nd WW losses to me suggest Stalin had civil war during the 2nd WW.

It suggests the ratio is 1:2 deaths or approaching that. I also think there is probably civil unrest in Russia with losses.

Russian Telegram channels reported the largest plant manufacturing diesel engines for military equipment is on fire in Russia's Chelyabinsk. Later reports clarified that the transformer yard supplying power to the plant suffered a transformer explosion / fire and blacked out the plant.
A tank factory has also gone up in flames.

I've just spent several hours watching an excellent video of the downfall of Napoleon. The parallels between Putin and Napoleon are stunning. In both cases, the megalomaniac dictator extends his power militarily into foreign lands. The nations united against Napoleon are, however, not presently seen united against Putin. Money is no substitute for armed columns approaching from opposite directions.
That, of course, is the issue.
Unfortunately, the Ukraine military war appears to me to be a stalemate --- a war of attrition. That does not bode well for Ukraine.
Then there is the sanctions war. Can that be decisive in the face of Putin's intransigence and the resources Russia has? It hasn't been so far. Perhaps that will change, and perhaps not.
Those are the two issues from what I can see.
One should not forget the Napoleonic Code. It is different from the evolutions of the English Common Law, but different is neither good nor bad per se. The fantastic agglomerations of inconsistent and archaic laws that it swept away were terrible.
I'm sure advocates of Eurostatism might express the same sentiments. And Kaiser Wilhelm and Adolph as well.

There is an inaccuracy in how Konstantin described the price russia gets for oil.
First, the sanctions worked until the beginning of July -at which point Urals price climbed steadily until the beginning of October and peaked immediately before Oct 7
Since the Israel-Hamas war began, Urals oil prices have fallen sharply and are back to sanctions level. It could be that russia approved of the war because they expected oil prices to go higher, but reality was the opposite
Has nothing to do with anything. Russia moving oil by 3rd parties has always taken a haircut, and they factored that in
