    Tip: never do launches 0 to 100 and manually shift. You will NEVER EVER EVER beat the way the gearbox changes them automatically. The manual is ... for placebo/fun times or some engine brake when you go downhill. That's why you got 5.0 with the M2.

    • @TunedIntoCars
      @TunedIntoCars  7 месяцев назад +4

      Yes, I'm pretty sure you're correct. But given this 'launch control' attempt was more of an afterthought on my part (hence why I added the disclaimer in the video), I didn't have time to try it properly. And to be honest, how a near 500hp RWD M-car does from 0 - 100km/h isn't that important

    • @chiquiiflow
      @chiquiiflow 7 месяцев назад +1

      I think it’s depends of the car, I noticed on the newer bmws it tells you when to shift at the exact point when the turbo psi it’s at his peak, I’ll say this bc I had a f30 before and you can see how it feels faster when you shift around 6k rpm against 7k rpm bc the turbo psi it’s at his peak of course not all cars are the same but yeah

    I've had my 240 xdrive for 2 years now and love everything about it. Best pure driving car I've ever had. The great thing about it is the engineers made it so it has a rear-wheel-drive feel, with all-wheel drive. Her rear end will come out under hard cornering just like a rear-wheel car does. I've actually seen videos of people drifting them.

    Recently bought my m240i in AUS. Pretty happy with it so far. Love the 4 wheel drive as I drive an a35 before. Not too crazy on the consumption either. Consider it would be the last time BMW would release the petrol only engine 2 series, both m240 and m2 would be great cars to keep.
    Love your video. Very clear and well structured.

    Great video! I own a M240 however here in the US we can get the RWD option. I opted for the RWD fully loaded M240 with the cooling package and everything else added in. I couldn't justify spending an extra 10-20k (depending on options) for the M2. I have done a few mods to my M240 and I think it is truly an awesome car to toss around. You also don't pay the "M" car pricing on maintenance and insurance. Maybe if they come out with an M2 comp that could get me really interested in switching over

      You already have the M3 xDrive. Same(ish) weight, more power. If there's going to be an xDrive M2, it's not going to be faster than the M3

    • @parkvoranaparit1873
      @parkvoranaparit1873 7 месяцев назад

      @@TunedIntoCars I think you can feel the difference because of the extra 2 doors at the back (weight) and shorter wheelbase. • @TunedIntoCars
      @TunedIntoCars  7 месяцев назад

      The M3 is around 10kgs heavier than the M2, but it has 60hp more. With or without xDrive, the M3 will be faster, just because of that extra power

    • @parkvoranaparit1873
      @parkvoranaparit1873 7 месяцев назад

      @@TunedIntoCars maybe, it depends on power to weight ratio. A truck has more horsepower, but it doesn't mean it's faster than the M3, right? M3 is 55kg heavier than the M2 (being an xDrive + 2 more doors + slightly longer in length). It has approx. 3.5hp/kg ratio while the M2 has approx. 3.8hp/kg, this ratio could be the same if an xDrive is also in the M2. xDrive M2 would be faster than the M3 and snappier around the corners. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the M3; I was just saying that if they offered the xDrive version, I would buy it over the M240i xDrive.

    • @TunedIntoCars

    M2 does 3.9s 0-100kmh in most measurements, so 5.0s is O.o ... You got 10 steps traction control in the M2 when set to 1 it almost let you spin around so I don't understand that argument.
