I can't even count high enough to list all of the amazingly RAD bass players (myself included...maybe not AMAZINGLY RAD) who cribbed style and licks from Tony Lombardo. His playing and unique songwriting style stands pretty high on the pop/punk mountain of bass players. Super kudos to my brother Karl Alvarez (definitely and AMAZINGLY RAD BASSIST) for being one of the major forces in getting Tony to play this show. SO GOOD!

Recycled Records in Hermosa Beach, 1982 and this LP was played about a half-dozen times a day. Back then we weren't supposed to have "swear words" in the music. Now it's just commonplace. Great LP, but I still have problems listening to "Jean is Dead" because a girl named Jeannie worked at that record store and she died a couple years after that.

Kind of cracks me up that anyone is demanding that punk rock should conform to anyone's pat expectations. If punk rock was about anything beyond rebellion it was about freedom. Freedom to be who you are as well as grow as a person. Sometimes when you grow as a person you change your mind as well as just change as a person. They don't owe us an explanation for any of it.

+TheShadow159357 At the time, young people would use gay slurs as common insults a lot more than happens nowadays, it seemed like the worst thing to be called. There was no intent in the original lyrics to put down homosexuals in any way, but the lyrics did in fact do that by using derogatory terms as insults, the insinuation being that being gay is a bad thing. This is ironic, singing about how bad bullies are, while at the same time insulting another whole group by accident. I am happy to see the lyrics changed, think that a greater awareness and political correctness at the time would have led to those words not being used in the first place
