  • In continuation of the story on the martyrs of Rajee, we end with the final companion who has a unique story of love. By choosing Taqwa in his toughest time, he teaches us a greater lesson about how to not let the devil play us in our desperation, and how to shine in moments where most people fall.

    This story would also be a great opportunity to teach people about the difference between authentic love vs. attachment & trauma bonding to someone with abusive behavior (she harmed him as soon as she did not get what she wanted from him, but he was still emotionally attached to her through trauma bonding).
    May Allah protect all of us from any kind of abusive behavior or abusive relationships (of any kind), help us to educate ourselves & our community on abuse in all its forms.
    May we be protected either from being oppressed or being the oppressors, May Allah protect us from either being abused or having abusive behavior.

    Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. I just wanted you all to pray for me. I'm aiming to understand the Quran better and also memorise it. I'm currently working hard to learn Arabic so that I understand Quran better and live the essence of the rawness of how it was sent down originally. I atleast want to speak the same language our beloved Prophet Muhammad S. A.W used to speak. And im trying to learn more and more about Islam so that if Allah grants me this honor, I would do the dawah work. Please remember me in your prayers and the whole ummah as well. Make dua to Allah to grant me the quwwah for this work and don't forget to include asking Afiyah in it. Remember, its in a hadeeth that the biggest blessing given to people after Islam is Afiyah. So ask for afiyah in everything that you do.
    Jazakallahu Khairan

    If the one who has committed zina repents to Allaah, truly and sincerely, then Allaah will forgive him or her, and overlook the sin. Allaah says, after mentioning the warning to those who commit zina:
    “Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allaah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
    And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then verily, he repents towards Allaah with true repentance”
    [al-Furqaan 25:70-71 - interpretation of the meaning]
    It's important to emphasize that forgiveness is present and the sin is cleared if sincere repentance is done. And God is most forgiving, she or he then can be married according to this mentioned above.
    Jazak'الله khayran. May we all be guided. انشاالله ♥️🙏🏼

Though a point comes to mind - I think sometimes stories of a man’s immense sexual desires is spoken about, almost like it validates that struggle for men to women. And it’s like, “okay, sure. Men and women may have different struggles.” But it feels so male-centered. I think there are stories of the women in the Prophet pbuh time that should also be shared. I’m just getting into your work, so I hope that’s touched on too. I think it’ll make Islam more appealing to women

      Jazakallah Khayr for your comment. As you mentioned, the Hadith makes the context clear and refers to her as “a previous girlfriend”, but the last thing I would want is someone to assume disrespect to the companions (May Allah be pleased with them) without that context. Since some may see it that way, I will advise the team to change the title and update the thumbnail inshaAllah. Jazakallah khayr again! 4:10

    • @celestialsignal
      @celestialsignal 10 месяцев назад

      @@OmarSuleimanPersonal barakAllahu feek for changing the title. I agree with the decision, and believe there is more adab in doing so. I wanted to know however where you're deriving the translation 'previous girlfriend' from? The arabic text says كانت صديقة له which seems to translates best as 'she was his friend', where صديق is a form of friend that implies sincerity, affection and closeness. Using 'girlfriend' seems to be an anachronism, and the concept in English has ugliness associated with it, that I think should be avoided when translating descriptions with respect to the sahaba and Prophet salla Llahu alayhi was sallam.
      To illustrate my point, I'll use the following narration:
      أبو رزين قال سىٔل العباس أنت أكبر أم النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم، فقال هو أكبر مني وأنا ولدت قبله
      Abu Rizeen said he asked sayyidina al-Abbas: "Are you older [akbar], or is the Prophet ﷺ? So sayyidina al-Abbas answered: "He is akbar - i.e. greater, than me, but I was born before him."
      If he had simply reaffirmed the wording, it would technically be accurate, but Sayyidina Abbas was careful to distance any ill connotation and framing, so he reworded the statement
      I hope you can understand where my concern comes from. Some may be calling this 'splitting hairs' but adab is a subtlety which should be elevated. I appreciate your time and hope to hear your perspective. As salamu alaykum.

    I don‘t understand, wasn‘t he an adultorer same as the woman, since they had been adoultrous together?
    Edit: He was thinking of marrying her after she said shehada/accepted islam, so wouldn‘t that have given her the chance to repent too?

      Yes but he Martad repented, asked for forgiveness, changed his habits, accepted Allah and His Prophet, and so was cleaned spiritually . Allah forgave him.
      The woman presumably did the opposite, continued in her dark ways .... stayed guilty !

      He became Muslim after that all the previous sins are forgiven. When Khalid Bin Walid became Muslim he asked the Prophet PBUH that I have killed a lot of Muslims when he was Non believer and had caused great damage to the Muslims and was feeling guilty that the other Muslims won't accept him but The Prophet Muhammad PBUH told him that all the sins of person are forgiven once he becomes a Muslim. There is an episode on Khalid Bin Walid you can watch it to know the exact story. This however means that they can't fall back to their ways of Jahiliya and have to follow the way of Islam for the rest of their lives. May Allah guide us to the straight path. Ameen

      Please focus on his transformation and him being obedient, also verse of Quran that came and he still was able to overcome on his desire and he accepted commands of our Creator Allah and he also showed loyalty to Prophet Muhammad Alaihi Salam, accepted His Alaihi Salam's silence Who Alaihi Salam waited and not jumped to answer his request instead waited for command from Allah. Allah Akbar Islam is beautiful submission to it is an honor and blessings alhamdolillah I am Muslim

      @@sapphirep2062 the thing was you don't know if she would have because when she found out that he has became Muslim and won't do Zinah with her. She informed the whole town about his plans. Which most likely meant death for him. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH must have known that she most probably will not do it.

    A very inappropriate title for such an institution and Shaykhs. Where is the honor and dignity? Are we all westerner teens now?

      @hamzaahmed1715 10 месяцев назад

      I don't see what you see as the problem on the title, even in time of the prophet pbuh disbelievers would refer to their haram partner as boyfriend and girlfriend so the sahabi sheikh was talking about was his ex girlfriend before he reverted alhamdullilah

      @hamzaahmed1715 The English word "Girlfriend" didn't exist back then so that's not the exact term they used. It's inappropriate.

      عَنْ أُمِّ عُمَارَةَ الأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، أَنَّهَا أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ مَا أَرَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ لِلرِّجَالِ وَمَا أَرَى النِّسَاءَ يُذْكَرْنَ بِشَيْءٍ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ ‏: ‏ ‏(‏إن الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ‏)‏ الآيَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ وَإِنَّمَا يُعْرَفُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏
      Narrated Umm 'Umarah Al-Ansariyyah: that she came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "I do not see but that everything is for the men, and I do not see anything being mentioned for the women." So this Ayah was revealed: 'Indeed the Muslim men and the Muslim women, the believing men and the believing women... (33: 35)'

    Not sure what exactly the message is conveying here. So a person with a past has no hope to change their lifestyle? Do you think the answer was no because she was unfaithful in general? And not even a Muslim. Because she did not care for his life, and he was in love with her! Because she was a cruel woman maybe that’s the reason for a no. If that’s not the case, then the idea of forgiveness and mercy cannot be put together in the same basket as the religion off Islam

      No! if u accept islam Allah will forgive all your past sins. So she didn't want to accept islam and change her lifestyle. As for him he became muslim and his past sins are forgiven so he can't marry adulteress now that he became Muslim.
