- Zaid Ibn Amr Ibn Nufaid (ra) is an absolutely remarkable figure in the history of Islam and has a story unlike any other from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Aside from being a monotheist before the coming of Islam, he would guide people to what pleased Allah based on intuition and fitrah (natural disposition).

*Never accepted Christianity or Jewism
* Banoo Adeem of Quraishi
* first cousin of Umer bnu khathab bnu Nufail
* children 1) Saeed bn zaid 2) athika binth zaid
* Never ate anything slaughtered in the name other than Allah
* Used to say all the worshippers of idol are in wrong way
* prayed Allah to show him right path
* Once adviced rasoolallah to not eat from Quraishi meat slaughtered in the name of idols.
* used to do sujood facing kaba
* Khathab used to curse and beat him, and asking others to beat him.
* he used to save girl children from burying alive and take care of them untill marrying to best mates
* Later he went to sham and met the dexterous scholar, the scholar informed him that there will be a prophet in ur Mecca who would fix all ur doubts. So while He was returning to Mecca he was captured by Highway robbers and killed just 5 km away from Mecca.
* He made a prayer that Ya Allah if you forbidden me to meet The prophet don't forbid it for my son Saeed, and his son is one among ashrathul mubashireen Saeed bn Zaid.
* there are hadees narrated as prophet PBUH say him in jannath with higher degrees.

Just imagine how lucky we are to be born muslim, most of us, already set out to walk on the straight path, without having to actually look for the truth because it was already in front of us. Being born Muslim is the biggest mercy Allah (SWT) could have given me, us, and we cant thank him enough. It made me cry that he was killed before Islam became known, because he didn't get what he was looking for all his life - we born muslims didnt even have to look, Subhanallah. May Allah join us all to be with this incredible man in Jannah.

Even people who are born muslim need to go on a journey to choose islam and truly find it to be sincere in believing that it is the truth, because even in the Quran Allah says don't follow your forefathers blindly "Ibn Ishaq reported that Ibn `Abbas said that this was revealed about a group of Jews whom Allah’s Messenger called to Islam, but they refused, saying, “Rather, we shall follow what we found our forefathers following.” So Allah revealed this Ayah (2:170-171)"
وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوۡا مَآ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ قَالُوۡا بَلۡ نَـتَّبِعُ مَآ اَلۡفَيۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ اٰبَآءَنَا ؕ اَوَلَوۡ كَانَ اٰبَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ شَيۡـئًـا وَّلَا يَهۡتَدُوۡنَ
(2:170) And when they are told: “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they say: “No, we shall follow what we found our forefathers adhering to.” What! Even if their forefathers were devoid of understanding and right guidance?
وَمَثَلُ الَّذِيۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِىۡ يَنۡعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسۡمَعُ اِلَّا دُعَآءً وَّنِدَآءً ؕ صُمٌّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡـىٌ فَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ
(2:171) Those who have refused to follow the Way of Allah resemble cattle; when the shepherd calls them they hear nothing except shouting and crying; they are deaf, dumb and blind, and so they understand nothing.
We get to say the most beautiful perfect words to worship Allah azzawajal... We get to practice the most beautiful perfect actions... We get to read the final Word of Allah azzawajal we get to follow the sunnah/hadith(sayings) of a divinely appointed prophet(saw). Wow... how little we realize these blessings.

I am speechless, amazed, awestruck with Zaid r.a 's story. MashaAllah I'm curious to how and who gathered the research of his life story and even the du'a he made before he was killed! I'm glad Zaid r.a has met Rasulullah s.a.w at least once in his lifetime although not a prophet yet at that time. Sheikh Omar Suleiman have a beautiful way of story telling that I can imagine the life of these people I have never met or knew. May Allah bless you Sheikh Omar!!

Companion of the prophet SAW
In Makka Group of 4 wanted to follow religion of Ibrahim
(1)Othman ibn huweirith
(2)Ubaid la ibn Jash
(3)Zaib ibn amr
(4)Waraqa ibn nauthar
Zaid was a christian then he was not conviced by judanism and christianity and decided to follow religion of Ibrahim
He was from banu adi clan of Quraish
He was a cousin of omar ibn khatab ibn nufeil
Khatab was uncle of Zaid
Children of Zaid
(1) Said
(2) Attika (daughter)
Zaid didnt worship idols and his people hated him so much for this
He was older than the prophet
Zaid standing infront of Alkaaba and he bare witness that "I have followed the religion of ibrahim"
He said it in a loud voice and there was a gathering of people there who listened to what he was saying
And people thought he was a mad man
Zaid didnt like the habit of arabs who buried girls alive
And this was before Quran came to speak about it
They took young girls in the middle of the night and buried them alive
Zaid decided to take the girls , he stopped them from killing them by promising to take care of them and saved some girls from being killed
He later travels the world to seek guidance
Him and waraqa went to sham together
So he left makka
He goes to the most knowledgeable scholar who advise him to go back to makka and wait for prophet Muhammad , Zaid was around age 85
On his way back to makka he was about to be killed
He was captured hy high way robbers
They stole everything that he had
There was a dua that he made when he was about to be killed
Allahuma inkunta haramtani min suhubati nabiiq fala tah rimha min ibn said
Ooh Allah if you have forbidden me from the companionship of your prophet then please dont prevent my son Said from being a companion of the prophet
Said is among the first people to accept the prophet SAW
Said married the sister of Omar ibn khatwab called Fatima
Remember that story of omar going to his sister to beat them when he had that they have followed the deen of Muhammad
There he found Said and Fatima reciting Surat Ta~ha and the teacher Khabab ibn arrati was there teaching Fatima and Said Quran
Zaid was saving other people daughter therefore his daughter Attika was married by 6 different shuhada
(1)Zaid ibn khatwab
(2)Abdullah ibn abubakary (son of abubakary)
(3)Omar ibn khatwab
(4)Zubeir ibn awam
(5)Hassan ibn Ally
But she didnt get children from any if this men

salaama'alaykum sheikh omar and yaqeen institute team. i just want to let you know that you guys did an amazing job with this series subhanAllaah. i just watched this episode about zaid ibn amr (may Allaah be pleased with him) this morning at around 7-8 a.m. and it's passed 7 in the evening and i still can't stop thinking about zaid masyaAllaah. thinking about him and his relationship with Allaah and his desire to seek the truth and his relentlessness, his kindness, and all the amazing traits Allaah has blessed him with. his death really made me cry because he didn't get to where he wanted to be. and i was so happy to know how Allaah rewarded him in the hereafter. i can't wait to meet him and all these amazing and special people Allaah has selected in jannah one day in shaa Allaah. thank you again, sheikh and yaqeen institute team. may Allaah be pleased with all of you and your loved ones. aamiin.

islamic history, Islamic theology books and old seerah books like ibn ishaq etc, if you are good on arabic, theres lot of book, I don't knw, my knowledge is from these lectures, islamic university medina, al azhar etc, i blv most of these scholars studies there, they teach all this, allah knows best,
try yasir qadhis seerah series and u can find zaid bin amr bin nufayl story in the 4th episode, under 4 important hunafas,

Zaid Ibn Amr Ibn Nufayl is Omar Ibn Khatab’s first cousin.
Zaid Ibn Amr Ibn Nufayl had two children.
One of them is Saaid Ibn Zaid, and another is Aatika bint Zaid.
