Little hard to accept on start, but experienced writers should pull this off.

I still think SG-1 and Atlantis were as perfect of sci-fi shows as you could get. They asked tough questions, like sci-fi should, mixed in ample humor, even breaking the 4th wall a few times, and though the ideas were sometimes campy and ridiculous, they were presented in such a way that it seemed logical and plausible in their world. They also had the unbridled freedom to be in an ancient, medieval civilization one day, and battling hyper-advanced replicants the next. And it all still felt familiar, being set in contemporary times. They still drove cars, but also flew space fighters. They owned apartments and feasted in alien palaces. Perfect sci-fi. And that's why it lasted ten glorious seasons.

It is enjoyable to see another Stargate video & Jack O'Neill is _indeed_ one of the most inspiring and comedic characters in Sci-Fi.
One other thing though: At 0:14 it says he is a major general; however at 4:06 , there are 3 stars signifying a lieutenant general.
Just a minor thing I noticed but otherwise, excellent video.

Kind of odd to describe O'Neill's life without mentioning his wife and son. That is, his son who accidentally killed himself with one of Jack's guns, and his wife who left him in the aftermath of that incident. Both weigh heavily on him during the first mission to Abydos, and his 'replacement goldfish' for his son, Skara, helped motivate him to both join the SGC and continue leading SG-1 during the early years.

One note to add. The Jack O'Neill in the series was different to the one in the film. Film Jack was more straight laced and serious, Series Jack was more sardonic and casual. I place that as a man forced out of retirement who never really wanted to leave retirement, and having a commander who understood that. Hammond is the ONLY reason Jack got to be the person he was in the show. Any other general would have kicked his ass and thrown him out for his behaviour.
Which is also why Hammond is special in his own right, and we got the Jack we needed.

It would only be temporary. It would come out of you as soon as they found another host. Sir, are you getting any of this?
    O’Neill: Carter.
