After the pandemy, many people decided to opt out of working for a company for more stress and little pay while the cost of living kept rising. So now they're putting the squeeze on gig workers to make them return to work.
So is Uber and Doordash going to provide employees with company vehicles now? Because the reason we were independent contractors is because we provide half of the service by using our own vehicles. People are fools if they continue to work for these tech companies using their own vehicle without proper compensation.

That's a great question David. Unfortunately, I can't answer that question. I'm going to research a bit more into it and see what I find, then give you all an update.
If you are a company paying contractors instead of employees to avoid paying for full-time workers' benefits, you will have a harder time not giving the workers their due benefits.
Hi Shawn, I'm a person that depends on gig workers. Let me tell you what I know. As you may or may not know there have been layoffs happening. The companies like Lyft and Uber are caught up, as you said they were the main violators of their people and now they will pay the price. Other companies will cut their forces. I just got an Amazon delivery yesterday and they went up $2 on a $5 dollar tip, and they did not tell anyone. That tip is added to the cost of delivery. If Amazon has to raise fees I'm not going to order from them, because the price I will pay I might as well take an Uber to the supermarket. Bottom-line, this going to hurt a lot of people. You think it will amount in a lot of money, I don't think so. Let's talk about margins. How much you think they companies are raking in when their costs are going to go up 30%? One of two things will happen. They will increase prices to cover the costs, or they will cut cost to try and stay profitable. In the first case, if the increase prices to cover cost they will lose customers. Customers don't understand the business rational of increased prices, when they did not pay that before. They will just stop buying that product at that price, they will change their consumer behavior. In the second case, the CFO will run the numbers and come back and say we have to cut this many loose to maintain profitability. Healthcare cost, increased salaries, other benefits, will become unaffordable at the company’s current payroll level, and people will have to go and the company will operate at that level and grow back when Trump comes back and erases pretty Joe's dumb plan that will put hundreds of thousands of gig workers out of that job. My opinion, this is just another disastrous decision made by Biden that is Anti-American, as many of his policies have turned out to be. Bro, what are you talking about? This is a good thing! If we're going to be considered to be employees, then the gig companies are obligated to pay us as W2 employees, instead of 1099 workers, which means we don't have to worry about owing anything to the IRS at the end of the year. Also, we get a guaranteed minimum pay, which will most likely be $18 to $25 per hour, plus overtime time and a half pay for working over 40 hours a week, paid time off, sick pay, possible holiday pay, medical and dental benefits, life insurance, etc. I don't understand your views on this. All of this is amazing, but you're trying to convince others (sheep) of the complete opposite. I appreciate your videos, but I don't understand your views on this. You WANT for your pay to be variable and dependent on luck, nothing guaranteed, no overtime time and a half pay, and you want to be left owing the IRS at the end of the year? SMH. Note that many gig workers are going to be laid off because of the increase in cost to have workers. Not to mention the 30% increase in these goods and services provided by gig workers.
