So warm lately John🥵,i wouldn't hesitate to have you and the guys for my Landscaping
Bob its hard in the heat, soon be moaning about the weather again.
Great job as usual john. Enjoyed our chat yesterday. Did you use an angle grinder with porcelain blade for the wavy edge on the main patio ?
Good to talk Mark mate loved it, i cut the edge with an Makita XGT with a Rubi super thin mesh blade.
@@GreentopLandscapes thanks john
Ignore the knockers they're clearly envious!
Great work again John! Can I ask a question please? When you are making a wet mix 5 to 1 can I put 2 lots of 5 to 1 in the mixer? Might sound a stupid question
Yes you can! its not a stupid question its a valid one, always happy to talk. Thanks for your feedback
Really enjoy your content. However, when I edge a patio - be it porcelain or natural - I always dig a ballast footing first and then bring the edging up with mortar. I noticed you haven't done this; am I over-engineering? Its not a criticism at all, just constantly learning as any dedicated and conscientious professional would. Thanks
Hi mate the edge in this case was concrete on a sub base as well as a compacted lean mix then the tile was bedded using Mapei rapid set adhesive, I don’t think it is going anywhere
Great videos mate, just a couple of questions I've laid my porcelain paving (full cement bed & primed) and I covered it with a plastic membrane to keep the rain out of the joints not sure if this is ok? Also how long can I leave it before grouting?
Thanks

I'm laying a light grey porcelain patio slab and want to use a black grout. Speaking to a few people in my local DIY stores they have had bad experience in using black grout and the staining and leaking into the porcelain itself. What would you recommend in terms of grout/make for black grout?
Bal or Mapei or flow point
How come sometimes you use a wet mix
And sometimes use a semi dry like in this video? I am about to lay porcelain and I’m wondering what mix you do for a semi dry? How much water etc?
Depends, its the moisture content that can be a problem you want your mortar nice and moist so it holds together and not sopping wet
Any tips on drilling 20mm for a balustrade 😅
