I remember the return from mission of a pilot who had been hit by 20mm shells. One of the shells had gone through the cockpit and the pilot's helmet and he was laughing when he explained that the shell burned his scalp ;)
It was a 7,62x39mm bullet in the helmet. Yes, he was almost knocked out by the impact but managed to make it back to a base thanks to a wingman. A 20mm shell, the head would be red mist 😅 PS: yes, it's a real story, the pictures of the canopy and helmet are out there, the pilot wrote a book.
Great video! Ex RAF Jaguars. Simply a brilliant aircraft. Thanks for posting! P.S. We all know there was a Mirage refuelling and sneaking into a Jaguar video!
Thanks for the great Video. The fighter jets at min. 03:00 are F-1 Mirages assumeing being flown by the French Air Force the Qatar Qatar Emiri Air Force also flow F-1 Mirages during the Coalition of the Gulf War.
And... India has chosen the BAE Hawk as her advanced fast jet fighter trainer...this British jet is the most advanced trainer in the world, the Indian navy is also considering buying the navalised version of the Hawk, the Goshawk' as used by the US navy. I think Russia has some superb fighters but i wouldn't go so far as to say kicking ass etc, in WW2 the German Me109 was, on paper a far superior fighter than the hurricane and...some say the spitfire (not me!) but Hurricanes still shot down me109's....sometimes its about training, extraneous circumstances such as weather conditions etc. I would never presume to say west aircraft is better than Russian! In fact I can not understand UK government's decision to buy F35b's for her new aircraft carriers, the queen Elizabeth class which is in my opinion, nothing more than a huge flat topped Barge...no nuclear propulsion so she has to have oilers following her, and worst no CATS and TRAPS, she launches her F35b's via a ski ramp (just like india launches her Sukhois, but at last India has TRAPS wires across the deck so India is half way there on that score. The UK originally said no cats and TRAP{S under labour gov as too expensive, torries got in and said yes we will have cats and traps as a conventional carrier and even nuclear propulsion was on the cards but the main thing was the catapults and arrest wires because we could then be inter-operable with our NATO partners i.e. USA and France, french Raffael frequently land on US carriers in joint training. Had we gone down that route and before we did the stupid F35b over rated, over-hyped and over priced option we considered F18's Rafael and what i think was the best would have been a navalised version of the typhoon. This would have kept Jobs in UK instead of US jobs and US economy benefiting from the F35 purchase. Ridiculous. One saving grace I suppose is that the QE carriers have been built with provision that if need they could be retrofitted with catapults and arrest wires but NO nuclear reactors, that would be impossible but deck has spacing for the cats and Traps if ever needed (once we realise that the F35 isn't what it is cracked up to be.
Note that India did NOT choose the Russian Yak advanced jet trainer and chose the Hawk even over her own Hal trainer so not all western jets are crap...the Indian advanced Hawk trainer the hawk131 will be a more advanced version with a different and more aerodynamic t wing and even a combat weapons system to enable these jets to be used for light ground attack a role other countries have used the older mark of hawk, yes its not a front line fighter but not all British jets are crap as a lot of Indian commentators say, if so why buy the hawk?
They should build a cheap Stealth-Jaguar... calling it SEPECAT Z-PUMA... an airplane with a LIDAR-ALTIMETER-TERCOM NAVIGATION (fog radar altimeter); GPS and Gyroscope navigation, radar invisibility only in frontal; ventral weapons bay with rotating opening; turbine exhaust with thermal-stealth coverings and liquid oxygen spraying diminishing heat signature; part iron-nickel central frame; carbon fiber or kevlar wings; radar not so powerful. For defense 4 missiles Python-V or two AMRAAM, or two HAARM depending on mission. Steering with help of vectorial thrust or LIQUID OXYGEN EJECTION. Two engines (with big empty space space between them, with room for four 250 kg bombs in line, or one big cruise missile) 30% bigger and more powerful than SEPECAT JAGUAR. Israeli active C-MUSIC LASER-BLINDER of incoming heat seeking missiles. Building consortium: Germany, Italy, England, France, Israel, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, India. Not less than 2000 airplanes in order to reduce price.
Lmao, complete bullshit. This would never happen. No one ever seems to build these supposed super planes(they are all ways peoples fantasies about old planes they like and never practical)

Used to work on them. One of the best bang for your buck jets built.

even iraq air force flies f1 mirage lol
Birds refueling at 3:14 are Mirage F1s. Notice the half circle intakes?
Yes they were for sure
WotterMelon mirage f1
Yes, Mirage F1 CR: recon aircraft performing secondary strike missions.
I liked the Jaguar and was sorry when the RAF got rid of them but the pair under the tanker at 3:00 look more like Mirage F1s to me. Same at 3:14.
Bravo a ces gars ! Pilotes et mécanos
Bravo a toutes nos équipes, pilotes, mécano 🇫🇷🇫🇷👍

One of the most underrated airplanes.
Complete with some Mirage F1's. 😀👌👍

THE BOMB LOADING DOESNT LOOK EFFECTIVE.
Jaguar is the best ground attack fighter that Indian air force have in its arsenal.
probably because the rest of their equipment is French or Russian junk ;)
jaguar is half french/half british
Sublime Thinker russian equipment is not junk fool, it can kick the westerners ass any day

En latinoamerica, solo Ecuador y Mexico tenian aviones JAGUAR.
Mexico nunca tuvo Jaguar.
Anyone getting this after it got announced in War Thunder ?

So much payload.
They could carry more than the F4.
Old truck
The music is really good, but it doesn't suit the video
Aman Deep
noisy music...!!!
Stupid music ruins an otherwise top video.
Thanks..........I was about to compose my adverse comment, you've saved me the trouble!
I'd like to watch it, can't be bothered now.
Yeah, like you can't turn the volume down by yourself, the horror.
