I’ve seen steering racks skip teeth with the cam elimators. But since you have the spc’s. If you hit something hard enough, the upper ball joint will slide. But typically I’d rather have an adjuster spin and pay for an alignment, then bend the frame or suspension. Great video tho!
So when you are trying plates to see which ones will give you perfect alignment you have to take the rack loose. reassemble and hope it's the right one? The guys at the alignment shop are going to love you!
I have these on with non adjustable camburg ucas and 33s and its like impossible to have the alignment perfect so my tires wear weird and my front suspension makes weird noises and it feels misaligned when driving. Ive had them on for 2-3 years with thousands of miles but i think im going to go back to stock
Ive been wondering about this. Im glad I read comments! because i have stock upper but wanted to use this kit and was worrying about getting the alignment on point!
From reading the comments on this is it best to have upgraded control arms/suspension before considering something like this? And it probably wont slip unless you do a big jump or somthin?
why on earth would you put the new bolts back in the same way as the old adjuster bolt? It doesnt matter which way the bolt goes! Put it in front the opposite side of the rack !
wait WHAT at @7:58 you did not need to remove steering rack, The bolt slides to the front of the car. did this guy just have a brain fart removing a bolt?? someone enlighten or confirm w me please.
I didn't remove the steering rack. But I had to remove the steering rack bolts in order to push the rack up just so I could get the cam bolts out. Let me know if that makes sense
Wait wtf, you went through all that trouble with your steering rack only to put the new bolt in the same way? Why do you hate yourself? Also it's very possible that your alignment was better before you installed the cam eliminator. Cams give you much more adjustability as opposed to the three positions of the square cams.
Please guys i need some serious help i don't want what I'm doing wrong with my 2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 2WD it got a 3 inch lift with a leveling kit i can't get the alignment right because of the front positive camber and tried with different alignment shops but they weren't able to do it said there is not much setting left to do the adjustments as i already installed adjustable upper control arm but they still can't do it now they want me to replace lower control arm i feel like they are just trying to make money does anyone have any experience in this what exactly i need to get the geometry right please help
Key point to note is that the SPC adjustable UCA corrects both caster and camber so locking the LCA bolts works with that setup

Also I highly recommend cam tab gussets!
I dont plan on jumping the 4runner yet haha so I'm not too worried about it
Yes. Thanks for this.

No you just loosen the cam bolt and spin the plate
You only need to loosen the rack if you're taking the bolts completely out
333 fab also makes a power steering rack bracket . They are nice
Nice rig! Thats a god damn gorgeous truck.
Thank you!
Spotted you on Macleod trail. Had to subscribe the 4Runner was too clean🔥
Thank you!! Haha

@BIackoutPhantom ya exactly they rarely slip unless you're really going crazy. I realistically don't need them haha
did you install bodylift on your runner to fit those 35s?
No body lift, just suspension
Did you end up tubbing the firewall?
No, not at all. I didn't need to
If I have positive camber how can I fix this issue maybe spc?
Spc will definitely help
what color is your car? is that oem?
Yes oem, it's called evergreen pearl
Cam eliminators only adjust Caster so you would still need an alignment for tow and camber, so title is false. Clean ass build tho

I tried doing that but the nut end hits the rack a lot
How many miles do you get on a gallon?
I dont actually know yet, haven't really driven enough with the new set up to know an accurate number
What’s the year and mileage on it?
1996 with 195k miles

Is there any cons to locking the cam bolts?
Lots of opinions on it but for me, no.
I'm not a professional though haha
