Just started surf fishing this year and I learned a lot from you! Your videos are very informative and make my experience on the water feel less like a shot in the dark. Love the videos, thank you for helping me catch all sorts of species, keep it up!
Hey thanks for making this video, i went fishing for tautog this saturday using crabs, i catched one but lost all my baits, and watching your video i realized i used too much weight and the wrong hook, if possible can you tell me where i can find this hook with the sinker and the name of it?
I don’t think color particularly matters all that much. I’ve used plain jigs and have found success with them. Can’t hurt to try some different colors and see what you like best though. Good luck!
@@doug2202 I’ll get a quart if I go up to the Inlet. Usually lasts me a good while. I believe they’re usually around $15-20 for the quart. It is a lot of fleas.
Im a little confused. The tog i fished for (20 years ago) must have been gigantic to the tog you fish for now. That small jig crushes current tog how small are the nets or whatever you use to catch them...
Thanks for watching! Jigs or Rigs, what's your method of choice and have you tried going for Tog yet this season? Let me know in the comments.

Sick video as always Sam. That under water footage👀…amazing keep up the good work!
Thanks man 🤙 I appreciate the support! Fortunately the water was really clear which helped with the underwater shots.
Great video Sam!!! KEEP'em COMING!!!
Thank you! 🤙
Tautog king!
If only 😂
Love Barnegat inlet!
Truly one of the most beautiful places!
Great video as always.
Glad you enjoyed!
Killer video as always Sam! Inlet fishing can be a tough! Honestly, shocked it took you that long to lose a jig 😂
Thanks Steve! Yeah me too hahaha saved myself some $$$ that day for sure!
I just literally put up a video myself from last weekend there! Definitely one of my favorite inlets to fish!
Awesome, I'll check it out! Fishing near Ol' Barney is the best.
@@SaltySamFishing the blackfish bite has been great! Lots of shorts, but a lot of fun!
Good video👍
Thank you!
Yes it’s like the montage knocker rig 😉
👍
Tog really are fun to catch and they taste good too
Agreed, so much fun to catch and one of the best tasting!
Great video Bro. That’s also my lucky spot
It’s a great one, thanks for watching!
Do you like using the jigs more than the bank sinker with the hook? Good video btw
I’m starting to prefer jigging but will use both depending on conditions-thanks for watching!
Is this the 1/4oz-1oz rod ?
Yep! Link in description should lead you to the proper page. It’s a great all around rod!
Can you talk about your shoes for walking on the rocks?
I have a video on my channel called “How to Catch Tautog From the Jetty” where I talk about them for more info!

Any tackle shop should have them, just ask the employee at the shop for tog jigs and they’ll set you up!
Great Vid.. Coming down this weekend.. Do you find using different jig colors work better???

NICE Video!! where did you get that sand fleas???
Thanks! Got ‘em at Fisherman’s Headquarters

How many do you generally buy for the day and general cost

Not sure what you mean by nets, can you clarify?
@@SaltySamFishing i made a dumb joke. About how small fish are that the tiny jig crushed them...
@@board_gamer_geek4309 Oh lol, yeah not the biggest class of fish but that should improve as the season progresses.
