Hope y’all are dry and safe. Don’t trust no hurricane. Have enjoyed all your shows. Always get out captain as you do have precious cargo you are responsible for.
Been watching your videos for three months learning how to be better at fishing . just got to Destin Florida on Saturday , go figure now we have a storm
Fishing in NY years ago schools of blues where non-stop chasing bunkers. The size you've been catching we called snappers. But the blues where HUGE 10 / 15 lbs. and in the boat they would throw up all over the place.
Great vid! Tried to do the same at St. Augustine Beach this weekend but no luck with the 20 mph onshore blow we had. Stay safe during the storm! We'll be keeping ya'll in our prayers!
Top water action is the best!! Catching blue fish is a lot fun. They put up a good fight! I’ve never got on a school like that. That looked like a blast! Great Vid dude and no gators 🐊 to worry about!
I've caught lots of blues in Florida and at my brother's in NC. I have a brother in law in RI and have fished with him. As one goes north up the Atlantic coastline the bigger they get.
Awesome! I’m new to surf fishing but catching bluefish on top water is one of my favorite ways to fish the gulf coast. Hope this storm doesn’t hurt you guys in Bama too bad.
Blue and Spanish feeding frenzy is one other the most exciting things I've ever experienced. We don't have anything to compare here in Arkansas. I made it down to Navarre Beach peir for a week and got to experience it throwing a bubble rig. Had to sit down and just take breaks because we got so worn out from catching them.
Me and some mates FILLED an 18 foot centre console one afternoon off Noosa Heads. Average fish was around 36 inches. Ended up using handlines over the side. The school was about the size of a football field.
I read an article a few years back on some waders at the beach in I believe it was New Jersey. They found themselves in a bluefish blitz and got nipped up pretty good. They weren't really attacking them, just caught in the frenzy.
Sic, non stop action! Poppers are my favorite way to fish for sure, we love those lady fish here on Oahu, we call them Awa’awa and when it’s good size we scrape the meat off the bones and make fish cake . Thanks for the vid, yesterday I went popping and in 3hrs of working dat water, I had 0 strikes, maybe next time I’ll get a sesh like yours😍 Aloha and God bless you and your loved ones🤙🏽
Hey Matt, always love your videos. Was thinking while you are hunkered down during Sally that you could create a fishing calendar for the area and species that you are most familiar with. This would be extremely helpful for people like me who are out of state and don't get to fish that often so we could plan our trips better.
Yet again, another great video! I really want to see you try out fly fishing sometime. If ya haven’t tried it yet, it’s a lot of fun. But, I have to warn ya, it’s also really addictive, lol. Tight lines bum dawg!
Hey you bum you... Good to see you... been enjoying you, Brant, Yak and some others here lately... Hope you guys are safe and sound up there tonight. We have lucked out so far but the whirley season is not over yet. Gonna go watch you vid now.
Catching blues on a spoon like that or a castmaster is one of the best things ever, I did it for like a week straight in the surf and it was every cast
They say the fish are hitting on the east side of Dauphin Island this morning. Along with everything else that’s in those waters. Stay safe, sally is riding around dirty
Tailor (bluefish) get over three feet long. You'll know when you hook one of them. Definitely better eating than mackeral in my opinion. The smaller ones will turn up in schools covering a couple of acres sometimes.
So, my first blue fish was on the east coast of Florida. Not even sure what city... On a jetty.. I had a 5 ft Zebco Rod and a black Push Button Spin Casting reel, have no idea what test but anyway caught a bluefish using squid... Guy next to me wanted to use it as bait... I thought it was a big fish... it was for me a freshwater guy... no idea how I got it in. would have been using like 8 lb mono... that's all I ever used back then. that was back in the 60's.
You also might want to try a little neck popper we use them up here for blues and strippers use the heavy one and you can pop it or swim it just under the surface two different actions in one cast check the website
bro I like your videos but you need to do catch and cooks and put scenery in your vids maybe do some cook offs or challenges . just wanna see you succeed bruh
Question: I've always seen guys standing way back on the rocks. Is there any reason you don't get closer to the water? Safety? Dry? Just curious. Seems to me it'd be easier to get fish to you being closer to the water.
Where and When to use a popper to fish from the shore without a boat? I tried diferent times using a popper to fish and got no fish. So Where and When to use a popper to fish from the shore without a boat?
I live in florida. Whenever i go fishing out on the jetty i cross my fingers to catch a nice jack but if all i ever caught were bluefish, i would definitely feel blue. Those fish are so stinkin annoying
The rods first eye being so small tells me it is not for a spinning reel but a casting reel. Am I missing something of have things changed? It appears to be working fine but just looks wrong and not what I am used to seeing.
How long of a rod are you using and what reel? I've never fished Jettys before but I have some around me and I wouldn't mind trying when I can't take the kayak out.
Ya got " The Blues " the good kind ha-ha. That new " Penn Slamer111 " seems ta be doing very well. Just sent ya an E-mail re: Hurricane Sally . I hope this doesn't mess things up too bad at the beach. OR yer neighbor hood . Take care Matt . Tom Daytona Beach, FL. 14, September 2020 .
That was a fun trip! Always a good time when the bite is that hot!

GOOD ONE....! Hey, you guys need to put "somekind" of shoes on before you get layed up with JUNGLE ROT....!
what rod and reel are you using? and how long should a rod be for the same type of fishing you did?
Are you buying your poppers local or online? Can’t seem to find them in stock anywhere. Thanks in advance
BBB & BB! :-) Nice one man
The one with the weird vibration may have just been snorting something fishy before you hooked him 😁
Cool video man!
Stay safe in the hurricane!

I always went snapper fishing as a kid. Ultra light rod and reel. 6"-8" blues.....what fun it was.
