20:40 Lmao “Botulism” it’s funny cause it’s a very real concern with canned goods. Also that’s really cool that yall lived so close to the legendary Eartha Kitt. She was amazing in everything. RIP
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. The twists in this story and how everything ties together is perfect. The book is also really good. So glad you got to react to it!
I remember reading the book in fourth grade, then going on a school field trip to see the movie. It was a good day. Also, the song "Dig It" is such a bop.
I was absolutely obsessed with this movie as a kid. I had such a crush on Zero! In 7th grade when it came out my class went to go see it in theaters since we were reading the book. I must’ve watched it 1000 times after that lol. And my favorite show in the world is Psych (Dule Hill as Sam the Onion Picker plays one of the main characters).
This was one of my favorite books as a kid, and definitely one of my favorite films. I have yet to see a page to film adaptation like this one. Word to film- so beautiful. The story is also filled with lessons, I hope to show my kids one day.
I read this book as a kid and loved it. The film is a really, really good adaptation as well. It's a simple story and you can definitely see where it's going to go before it gets there, but it's still very fun and pretty wholesome as well.
I want thank you both for this reaction. As a kid I never understood the film until I was older to appreciate the messages in it. Fun fact: the “onions” that Stanley and Hector ate are actually apples. They were covered in edible wrappers. 🧑🏼🦱🧑🏾🦱🕳☀️🦎💄🧅🍑🫂💰⛈

I love this movie, back in school our teacher would put this movie on during English class and then we read the book afterwards. "Excuse me?"
Same!

I met the author, Louis Sachar, when I was a Freshman in high school, and he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
This is one of my book to movie adaptations. Its so great how the stories intertwine.
🎶If only if only 🎶😊😊

You’re only saying that because you read the book first 😂
