A lot of factors go into it but unless you know you’re going to be selling in 1-2 years, it usually is. Historically, real estate has always been a good long term investment. However, I’ve talked with many clients who are moving here and have helped them decide to rent for a year a two. Everyone’s situation is different and that’s my job to help them figure out what’s best in their scenario. Do you think it’s a bad time to buy right now? And why?
Thanks for the video. I’m considering a move to San Antonio with my family. I work in health care as a physician (MD). Have you done any videos on good neighborhoods for raising a young family? Some people tell me there are issues with safety / human trafficking / kidnapping in San Antonio, is it overblown, any thoughts? Thanks!
Definitely would say it’s overblown and probably talked about more since we are close to the border but there are so many families in San Antonio that absolutely love it here.
Some of the best neighborhoods for families: Roger’s Ranch, Stone Oak, The Dominion, Shavano Park, Terrel Hills, Alamo Ranch, etc. There are a lot of areas primarily north and northwest San Antonio
You’re absolutely right. That’s what I get for looking at just one chart instead of the full history. The chart I had was just showing the 2000’s. Thank you for catching that!
Love to hear all the local activities. Throughout the year. I was just in SA. They had alot of colors and fiestas week about to happen. Missed that but im sure you have more action throughout the year.Keep up the hard work
Been looking for a house for my daughter here in San Antonio. Houses are way over priced. I have come to realize their home ownership may not be within reach and together they make $75,000 a year. It is crazy that they can’t afford a decent 3- bedroom house in a decent neighborhood anymore.
The combination of interest rates and high prices has been a killer for sure but it’s not out of the question completely, just not as easy as it used to be. The biggest thing that’s going to help people like your daughter out now in my opinion is getting out of as much other debt as possible so they can save up and also qualify for more with that lower debt. It really is tough to see these situations be like this though because I remember not that long ago I bought my first house the week I graduated from college and that house now would take a six figure salary to even think about buying now without a really high down payment. There’s options out there I promise. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to reach out.
@Life in San Antonio Texas Bank failures, record amounts of car repo this year alone, inflation, record amounts of credit card usages (usually a sign of financial strain), amount of home owners behind on their house payments by 90 days, war between Russia and Ukraine, more issues with China, I'm sure I'm missing some but to top it all, Biden's administration way of handling the crisis we're in. Is that enough signs that we are headed towards a recession or not so much? I think so....signs are there....ta daaaa!!!!
Never met a realtor that says is a bad time to buy a house. Ever…

Great info, thank you! I just locked my rate on my new home @ 5.5%.
Well done!!! New build I’m guessing?
@@LifeinSATX YES! Perry Home. Had to buy down rate a little with funds we were given as an incentive. We used the rest for closing.
Perry builds a great home. Happy for you! What area did you decide on?
the FED Reserve has had interest rates way higher than they are now (just FYI, this isnt the first time)

@@LifeinSATX Well your call that it will drop to 6% or even lower sure didn't pan out.
