I love it. It is the best sport. Writes smooth. Feels and Look great. Fantastic quality and work. Bought two. One for me and one for my son's high school graduation. Thank you for your review
I was really surprised when someone from a popular pen company when I talk to him could not pronounce Kaweco correctly. He said. Kaw wake oh! Ugh! This guy is a professional. And I even pronounced it properly just to give him a little clue. And he pronounced it back to me the other way lol 😆 I think you may have just penabled me to get this pen, but then again, I do collect Kaweco pens!
🤔 I’m not German, but from my German studies, I always understood that w’s should sound like v’s, it’s the vowel after that w that I’m unsure of. Either way you say it though, their pens are fun. I hope you love yours!
This new Kaweco fountain pen with piston mechanism is a charming and coherent continuation of the Sport series. The design is an absolute success, but it has one flaw that surprises me. The dimensions of the new Kaweco are identical to those of the regular Sport model, with one exception: the section goes deeper into the cap. On the regular Sport model, it measures 3.7 cm, while on the Sport Piston, it measures 4.3 cm. For this reason, the fountain pen is 6 mm shorter. This inexplicable fact reduces writing comfort, giving the strange impression that something is wrong. That's very unfortunate...
That’s a fascinating bit of info. I do believe the nib sections on these are different from the regular al sports. Now that you’ve mentioned this, I feel like I’ll need to compare the two models again.
I ordered the exact pen with the same nib size from the same store in Italy. However, mine comes with the 30ml blue ink bottle and is halfway on it’s journey to me, l’m excited.
I considered ordering the one with the ink, and then remembered all the ink I already have. that’s what I considered to be a “responsible pen purchase.” 🤣 I hope you love it! Shipping for me was pretty quick.
Omg this was absolutely hilarious! One could totally tell how EXCITED you were! - the excited counter… the best! You make me want to ink up one of my vintage ones, haven’t used them in a while, except for the Dia that needs to be filled all the time. And BB is the way to go, I love the Kaweco brass with the double broad too! 🙌🏻🖋😘
Kawecos double broads are their best nibs imo. This one is no different. Have you done any videos on your vintage ones? I’m going to have to go over and take a look. 😘
@@TheDormousesDesk good and valid! BB is the way to go! I wonder if I ever showed the very old ones? I did the unboxing of my treasures I brought from Germany last summer, but none inked and one Kaweco Sport was with an EF nib.. (I should sell it.. I’m such a pen hoarder..), the other needed repair and I just sent it off to my man Joel! 😘💕
Ahhhhh! So exciting! The tiny scissors could have been comical. 🤔🤭 But finding no knife and then asking about the possibilities of the bananahama had me rolling. That last pen you bought before this one was also pretty exciting! 😹 I totally would’ve stuck that packing peanut on my tongue too. I think we might also be cats. 😹 And every once in a while we need an exciting chaos video! That is such a cute scale. 😻 Thanks for the wiper Lamy! And I love your low budget zoom! 😹🧐 Overall, this was exciting video from an excited friend that covered this pen perfectly. 🤩 Go b-broad or go home. 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
I mean, if I really had to, those tiny scissors would have had to do. I’d be ok being a cat. Especially one in my house. Did you get excited watching the video?
That depression in the tin is to hold the ink bottle while you fill the pen. I’ve seen a review of the version that came with a bottle of ink and the bottle fits neatly in there.
@@TheDormousesDesk Hmmm… no. I don’t think so. Maybe the tin that comes with the bottle has two depressions - one for the bottle and one for the pen. It does seem a bit odd!
0:13 🤭 "This is my desk." That made me giggle out loud. 6:03 The Kaweco cartridge is a standard international cartridge, also called international short cartridge. The second one you showed is an international long cartridge.
@@TheDormousesDeskI'm guessing the short version of the international cartridge, since that is what they usually ship with on the regular pens. That's more than their tiny converter, but I wish it was the long version for a piston filler. We need someone to measure. 😏
That’s a huge compliment, thank you! My favorite nib from Kaweco is BB, but it’s not for everyone. If I had to choose fine or medium, I’d go with medium. It honestly depends on your writing style and how you think you’ll most use it.
@TheDormousesDesk You're very welcome. I ended up ordering one with a Fine nib. I have a Kaweco Dia 2 that came with an Extra Fine nib and I thought it was too scratchy so I ordered a Medium and a Fine nib, and between the two, I liked the Fine the best. I don't know yet how much this will write like the Dia, but I'd assume it's similar. I hope you can get replacement nibs for this because I may end up ordering a Medium.
"They need to teach americans how to pronounce the brand name" It's actually ka-vay-ko, not ka-vehk-o, if we want to get really super particular about it
The piston costs about twice a regular Al-Sport. You can use pen addict math here and say that you got your sport at half off! This means you can buy another pen. 😜

I agree. They really do feel fantastic in the hand. Congratulations to your son on his graduation!

I agree : it’s maddening to hear professionals mispronounce well known brand names. I’ve heard professionals say “Scry-bo” rather than “Scree-bo”. (!)

YAY! Finally got to see it in action! I love the idea but I am going to hold out and wait for better colors. ENJOY!
Better than black? That’s a thing?

Will it write just as good for left handers , I want one , it looks beautiful , I love small pens xxx
Yes! If you watch @inksplat she’s a lefty and uses all sorts of fountain pens.
"Tasted like corn too" lol, this unboxing was hilarious
Glad I could give you a chuckle. 🤭
That depression in the tin is to hold the ink bottle while you fill the pen. I’ve seen a review of the version that came with a bottle of ink and the bottle fits neatly in there.
Does the ink come in one of those FWP type chargers? Because that round hole is really only big enough for the pen.

I have to tell you, i live close to the fisical shop and love their way of dealing with customers. Highly recommended place!
That’s amazing to hear! They really seem top notch.
Congrats on the new pen!
Thanks!
I want to get my hands on one…but I think I might wait a bit to see if the do other colors.
I’d love a different color too, but, I figured I wanted to encourage the company on this first round. Plus, I do like black.
That's a really nice Kaweco collection. Is that a violet Al Sport, and what is the color of the other greenish one you have?
It’s the vibrant violet with an iguana blue section, the other is the Aurora Borealis. The AB is gorgeous and I adore it.

They don’t hold the same amount of ink, do they? Which is my question. If the piston hold a converter amount, which converter?

8 and a half minutes to get to the product??
That can happen in an unboxing video. RUclips has fast forward if you’re in a hurry.

I’m so so about it.
if I hadn't *just* bought an AL-Sport...

and after 8 minutes, still has not opened the box.

What nib size ❤❤
Double broad! It’s the best Kaweco nib size imo.
I believe it is pronounced stilo & stile

Ok, you can leave now. 🤣
