    Good video and good job. I only saw you do it once but a warning for anyone reading. Anything more than a gradual turn with the plane down has a good chance of snapping off the rippers.

    it be nice to have a neighbor with the same size tractor so each can buy different implements and share till every body has their own. $2000 here $4000 there adds up when you went big on a cash buy for a tractor. it must be hard for normal men to see the enjoyment one can have playing with a box blade and land plane and 100 tons of gravel!

      That's exactly what I did. I bought the same 50hp class of tractor as my neighbors. 45hp to 60hp.
      I bought a grapple, a rake, and a land plane. He has a backhoe, box blade, and grader.

    that there mx5400 sure is one fine KU-BOATER! i was after that model or L6060 but i prefer to pay cash for my tools/toys. the L6060 i got a price of $53k and my pockets were not deep enough. the MX5400 was kind of in my price range but im retired and my legs dont function as they should due to a battalion of dirtbikes 1974-2018 motocross. the loader joystick location made it hard for me and i needed a larger more open floor. i ended up with a 2022 TYM T494. i am told the MX KU-BOATER may have the edge on fit and finish but i needed the larger floor and loader on fender. at $30-$35k i am very happy with the TYM T494. the hydraulic top link was the best $250 i ever spent. i mainly got the T494 for firewood, i got a FRANSGUARD 950 log grapple from DENMARK. it looks like a frostbite grapple but is made of HARDOX rather than a36 steel. the T494 has a loader lift in the area of 2800 lbs or 1300kg. so it can drive around with a 2000lb log with no issues. the KU-BOATER L6060 special edition with the burnt orange metallic paint is my dream tractor, i could even bring it to a car shoe! lol great videos my friend! I agree with your sharing plan, would definitely save some money! I have not had any experience with the TYM tractors but I have heard good things, it seems as though they have more options for the money. I am sure it will serve you well! I have looked into the top links and I am sure they are well worth the money. I appreciate your comments and thanks for following along!

    They be good supervisors, only if they could hold onto there clipboards.

    I've used my land plane on my Kubota L6060 in dirt but I found that the moisture content really matters. I was also tearing up turf and I found that it can really build up and clog in the first blade. I made it work much better when it was dry.

    Why do you push the land plane backwards on dirt rather than pull the land plane over the dirt?

    • @goodlucktrying21
      @goodlucktrying21  Год назад +1

      Good question, obviously you can go both ways but when you are trying to put final grade on something you have a level base for your tractor to ride over going backwards versus forwards you are riding over the humps and bumps and makes it more difficult to keep your attachment on a consistent plane. Appreciate the comment!

    Hydraulic top link. Your rear blade was up too high, the front and rear blades should both be cutting equally.

    Good to see you posting again, young man. Here in the Bootheel of Missouri, the farmers use huge land planes to level their fields for irrigation. Therefore, it only stands to reason that your smaller version will work for you, too. Now, some folks can run a box blade like a champ and get a result like you did on your gravel - though maybe not as quick. I’m not one of those people lol. A land plane has been on my list of items to get. Good video.

    A lot of the land planes need more weight to work better. I have a 500lb down pressure kit and dry, packed gravel comes out great in 1 pass. That weight would've helped a lot in dirt.

    Do you ever regret not getting the hydrostat in your kubota?

    • @goodlucktrying21
      @goodlucktrying21  Год назад +1

      Sean I am used to a clutch because that is all I have ever known. I do wish I had bought the hydrostat so Brantley could operate now and make it easier on Kristin. Brantley can’t get the clutch in without coming out of the seat. If I were to buy again I would probably go that way
