Hi Captain. Your ability to adapt and learn as you go is great but even greater is you bringing us along on the journey. Your humor and dialogue with us as viewers always puts a smile on my face a makes me chuckle. That’s why I always look forward to seeing your videos. Thanks for being the dad and family man you are. Stay safe
Captain you have a vivid imagination and innovation, you put a smile on my face when I see your videos, thank you for making me smile and thank you for being you!!!
I was blessed to grow up with parents that had multiple businesses. I was running torches by the age of 8 and stick welding by 10. My weld and torch cuts at that age looked just like the stuff entry level college students do in their early 20s. Don't worry about how things look right now so long as they work. Getting better will come with experience and time. You are doing just fine :)
WoW! You're raking up the views now, brother. Few are more deserving. And, this is a project that will be concerning me soon once I move out of the city and into the country here in Nevada. Thanks.
Great job! There's nothing like O.J.T.! When I started farming I quickly learned there were things you could not farm without: air compressor, cutting torches, welder and 4 x 4 pickup! With my old Ford T-20 small square baler, I'd bale awhile, run to the shop and weld on it for awhile! But, I ran 20,000 bales through it and sold it for more than I paid for it. One thing about that baler: it never missed a knot! Thanks, Mike! PS: At 7 am this am, we had 1/8" of frozen rain on the ground. I could not stand up on my gravel drive. Be safe! Lee
Much better summary. Good job teaching yourself. My father learned to gas weld using steels cans and welding them end to end. He said everything else seemed easy after that.
Fantastic video. Loved the snow work. Very clever thinker and builder. Goes to show one must protect the eyes and skin. Now to see it do the job which it sure will.
Great video as always. I really like the fact that you don't mind showing your learning process including your errors sometimes, it makes it very educationnal and authentic!
Borderline Professional, The Concept is Very Impressive, Design And Manufacturing Appear To Be Top Notch. Definitely Looking Forward To The Next One, Keep It Safe Out There
Two suggestions, add a piece of light chain to your pins for the scarifier so you don't lose them and get a rosebud for the torch, heats a lot better. It's a work in progress just like life. Stay safe stay warm.
The way you swung the hammer from both sides makes me think you could be a switch hitter playing baseball. Enjoy following you in your adventures, thnks!
It's a beast !!!! Will definitely dig dirt that's for sure ** it will work just fine. Might have to tweek it a bit but will do great. Now make me one lol !!!!!
You're doing good Mr. Mike. It's awesome to see a homeowner fabricating a piece of kit and learning a new skill at the same time. That's how we should go about life. Work with your hands and slow down a little bit. And don't ever forget- Edison didn't fail inventing the light bulb. He found 2,000 ways how not to make it. My only suggestion on your torch work- if you're cutting toward you, raise the handle just a bit above 90° to your workpiece, and if you're cutting away from you, lower the handle. That way the preheat flame will get your steel up to kindling temp and you'll get a cleaner cut with a bit less slag.
@@CaptainKleeman I'm going to send you a few tips for your torch. One is a washing/gouging/scarifying tip. It has a curve to it so you can make a nice flush cut with it. Like for instance when you were cutting the tabs off and what was left of the rollers of the forklift frame. Plus a few others that'll make life a bit easier.
Great ideas for a road drag. If you get a piece of material the same height as you need the torch it eliminates the jerky up and down motion and you can concentrate on cutting speed. I watch a channel called I C Weld, that guy is a master!! Lots of great tips and tricks if you watch what he does. Keep up the great videos! I have a JD400 with a Brantly 420 loader that I’m resurrecting, hopefully more videos to come.
Wow, don’t know how I missed this build but as you have heard many times, I love to watch you use the road drag. It doesn’t matter if you are just dropping it because it is on and you are going from A to B anyway or if you are specifically using it to clean up. Anyway….I’m loving watching you fabricate it. Even though I already know it works….I am excited to see each new development.
Captain, you're doing fine learning as you go. I like your shop. Lol I.C. welds is a really good source on using a cutting torch. His welding is very informative.
Welds are getting much more dime like and the fabrication is solid. Weld penetration is the key. Continuous welds are stronger due to the minimizing of porosity and contamination.
Your doing a good job you will get the hang of it. Your learning more this way then have some one tell you how to. Some time pretty welds don’t hold crap
dang Kleeman - id'a had the whole place burnt down by now with all them dry weeds around. otherwise you're kicking butt and taking names on your fab skills. purty dam smart on the scarifier and locks. i'm impressed. one of my fave things about capitain kleeman is the upbeat attitude - makes my day.
Part two is up and Live! Check it out! ruclips.net/video/7uqi1iyzho0/видео.html

That's awesome Jason. I hope to have my oldest out this summer and work with her on it.
Couldn't "get 'r done" without that torch! Not having to deal with bits and hole saws on that thick of metal is what would put a smile on my face🙂
The torch is definitely a game changer!
Amazing what a guy can do with a welder, cutting torch and a grinder. Good job
Thank you!
Hey Captain Great to see you getting the viewers involved . Hold this for me LOL
Thanks it made my day
We are all in this together lol
A guys fabrication skills are coming along nicely.
You're the Bob Ross of homesteading🤔🤔♥️😁😁😁👑👑

I definitely like the conversational rational before the build.
Appreciate the feedback!
I like the way your new toy sings for us.
Another great one. The day you stop learning is the
day you don't see the sun.
Thanks Chris!
It's never how good of a wealthy you are it's how good of a grinder you are
Lol very true!
Captain you’re really getting the hang of it! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thank you Kevin
Your channel is awesome, just remember to go back and look at your old mad mud dabber welds and those were the days.
Always good to look back where we came from!
Great job Mike, I love how you built the majority of it out of repurposed material.
You're a welding/fabricator genius. MBTS got nuthin on you!
Outstanding! Welds work, that's all that matters.
Thanks Rick!
Getting better all the time. I love the commentary. Thankfully we're here, so you're not talking to yourself. People might think you're crazy! 🤔
Exactly! Lol
Hi Captain, just like Mike your able to make just about anything!

Thank you!
You are a quick learner on the welding, those welds look good to me.
Thank you!
Much better summary. Good job teaching yourself.
My father learned to gas weld using steels cans and welding them end to end. He said everything else seemed easy after that.
Dang that's awesome!
use a "cutting torch" to do the gas welds, the skill needed to avoid blowing through any thickness of metal pays off when using a welding tip.
Yep, I’m still loving that lens for the torch/welder shots!
Thanks Jeff!
Looking great Captain keep em coming.
Thanks Danny!
I like your way of using a ratchet strap and torch to bend the steel.
Thanks Kevin!
You are rocking the stick nice looking welds practice make perfect 👍
Thanks Alan!
Your imagination is great,
I wonder does it keep you awake at night?
